The office staff are pathetic. Clients think we are there just to clean their mess. This is not health care so stop advertising it as such. Many clients are able to do for theirselves but act completely disabled and want you to do every single little thing for them. Don't work here unless you're looking to be maid service. read more

My siblings and I are so grateful for the care that our grandmother received from the Home Instead team. Their combined effort, level of professionalism, and genuine care and love for her allowed us to be able to make staying in her home possible. We had no idea everything that these wishes would all entail, and the Home Instead team made it not only possible, but made it a safe and happy experience for her. It's been a year since mom was in the care of Home Instead Valdosta. I've waited to post to make sure this wasn't just an emotional response. I hesitate to say anything in their defense, but for much of the time, the care of mom was a difficult situation. My sister was in the home and manipulated the situation to her benefit. I do not envy the caregivers who were there during this time period. However, during that time period we began to sense that one of the caregivers was working with my sister to take advantage of the situation, so we requested merely to change that caregiver. We continuously saw suspicious activity in mom's finances, and not being sure whether it was the caregiver or my sister, we relented. We were told this caregiver was a savior to my and making a change would be detrimental. Then my sister died. Again we expressed concern about this particular caregiver. She seemed to have engratiated herself into mom's life by doing things that weren't in the best interest of mom, giving her unlimited amounts of alcohol as an example. We continued to see very suspicious activity in mom's accounts. It was to both the caregiver's and the company's benefit to keep mom dependent on them. Thankfully we were able to extradite mom from the situation. Not only did the suspicious financial activity stop immediately, but mom's health and mental well being were greatly improved. Having a parent transition into dementia is incredibly difficult. Being far away from them makes it even worse. Not having someone you trust take care of them is just devastating. My parents lived a very frugal life, saving wherever they could, so the end of mom's life should have been comfortable and worry free. To know that she spent in excess of $250,000 to be taken advantage of and now has to even worry about money is so sad. read more
