It gets very crowded at the weekend and you are recommended to call ahead for reservations. The coffee is the best I've had! But it's also very small! The baiser cakes are presented nicely and the whipped cream tastes incredibly fresh. (The cakes consist of pastry base, fruit filling, and whipped cream topped with cake.) I had the Stachelbeer Baiser. The service is absolutely top notch. The waiters are so friendly and attentive. They have a warm manner with children. There's a little play area for kids in the back of the cafe so parents get a bit of a break. The location is right in the middle of the town, and there's a lot of natural light. The front entrance table had a selection of newspapers and magazines for you to enjoy! I've heard that breakfast is good here. This cafe has a really great atmosphere. Check it out!

The traditional Döner kepab is available as a sandwich if you want to keep it simple. The vertical meat spit is right behind the counter. If you want fast food, just order at the counter. Or, sit down at a table and wait for the friendly service. Since we are familiar old-time locals, they brought us some bread with tzatziki and a second spicy sauce as compliments of the house. A small selection of beers are available on tap, and you can buy Turkish beer in cans. The menu is posted as numbered photos above the counter. We chose gyro baked with vegetables and pepperoni (84/85) and also, gyro presented with salad and French fries (76). Thirdly, we ordered the selection of Divan appetizers including grape leaves, cheese, pastry rolls, salad and yoghurt sauce. We ordered three dishes for four adults. When the food came, it was wayyy toooo much food. We really enjoyed the excellent presentation and beautiful colours on the plate. The salad was super fresh. Yet we had to take most of the food home. It's hard to find sit-down restaurants for Turkish food, and this establishment is available both in Dissen and in Bad Rothenfelde. Go and enjoy!!

NOTE: This "Mexican" restaurant doesn't serve tacos. The food was a doctored up way of presenting German-style entrees with something approaching Mexican flair... if you are feeling generous. For example, they have a series of "Baked Potato" topped with different meats, pick between beef or chicken or vegetarian. I would just called that a loaded baked potato in the States. They have a series of burgers, with barely even a Tex-Mex twist. They offer steak, enchiladas, and burritos, which are basically wraps which you can pull off with bland stuffings and underwhelming sauces. Don't be looking for chipotle, fresh jalapenos, salsa picante, or crema, or even proper pulled adobo pork. Don't be looking for melted cheese, or for spicy pork stews. Their spicy sauce was good ol' Louisiana Tabasco. On top of it all, the kitchen was slow and haphazard. We waited a good 45 minutes for a Yucatan salad (it had guacamole in it!) and a baked potato entree. I'm just going to leave it as a disappointing food destination but standard polite and professional service. Colorful bar and decent place to get a drink.

They have a well stocked bar to enjoy a quick schnapps or liqueur to warm you up, as well as a good beer selection. They also serve coffee and tea. We had Ramazotti along with a berry cream cake, and a cherry strudel cake. The cakes were outstanding and delicious and you could taste the freshness. The service was friendly. After a walk through the nearby forest walking trails, this is a wonderful destination to reward yourself with a warming treat. Lots of space for groups of hikers/walkers, as well as a selection of outdoor seating ideally suited for summer days. Lecker! as they say.
