It's located at a 4-way light, and is somewhat inconspicuous so you kind of have to look for it. There is a young lady who raises funds annually to support orphan ministry and hosts pierogi and baked goods sales. If you are lucky enough to catch one, the pierogi & haluski is THE BEST I've ever had in Pittsburgh, and is an orgasmic experience!

These policies are an outgrowth of the lax policies being exhibited at local shuls where masking and distancing are non-existent. This has exposed vulnerable children and adults to a cycle of disease and the administration have not only ignored parental concerns but have further relaxed rules. On two occasions we were told to get PCR tests but no one ever actually looked at them. The last draw was that they waited several days after an exposure to let the parents know and then put into place a testing schedule that would have exposed children to any additional COVID positive children for up to 4 days. The principal only responded to concerns when outed on public facebook discussion pages and refused to participate in any sort of forum with the parents the doctors who are allegedly consulting with him (no evidence of their consult has been shown to parents). This is not a school that takes health seriously.

The people are friendly, welcoming and diverse. There is no set creed for our type of Quakerism, so you mostly get to work out your own religious views in the way you feel suits you best and the way that speaks to your own view of things. Generally, there is a big focus on peacemaking, simplicity, equality, and concern and care for all people in the world. Some Quakers consider themselves Christians, but others do not. A few borrow some of their traditions and ways of thinking from Buddhism and other faiths. Some people attend Quaker Meeting but also attend Jewish Synagogue, or a UU church, or other worship community. The main Meeting for Worship starts promptly at 10:30 a.m. so it is best to arrive at least 5 minutes earlier than that. There is a small parking lot, and the public bus also goes past (I think the #75 route does directly to it, and many other Oakland busses will get you pretty close, too, so there are many bus route options).
