    Great, friendly church with lots going on. It has a kind of relaxed anglian feel to it with an emphasis on bible teaching. Check it out!

    The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas (aka Santa) is one of Newcastle's more interesting…read morearchitectural attractions, though it must be said that it is much smaller and more modest than e.g. York Minster, Ely Cathedral or Gloucester Cathedral. Most of the building hails from the 19th century, although the church itself goes back to medieval times. The style is very familiar for anybody who is even remotely interested in the architectural fashions of Victorian times. The church organ is very impressive, as is the intricately carved marble pulpit. The cathedral has a wooden roof. The elaborately designed stained windows are also worth a look. Expect to spend about 30-40 minutes at this place, i.e. if you're not there for prayer or a musical or church event. You can take non-flash photos freely. Entry is also free. The catherdral has been in Newcastle since the 12 century as a church but was made a catherdral in the 1800s. It is a very beautiful place to visit. Look out for the bust of Lord Collingwood he was married at the cathedral. There is a giant organ and a decorated font There is a portion of medival glass to look out for The catherdral gives off an air of wellbeing and is a great place to pop into to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre There is small shop and a cafe which are open from 10 until 2.30
