This particular one former WNBA player Lisa Harrison located on the side of her alma mater southern high school One personably love this series that is spread throughout the city of Louisville this one holds a little bit more weight for me because I am also an alumni of southern high school like the great Lisa Harrison. Her banner actually is right etc to another hometown hero and southern alumni in Phil Simms. So pretty cool she got her honor next to the super bow mvp.

Such a cool way to honor the greats that represent our city here in Lousiville. I'm a little biased on this one being my favorite one. For the simple fact that I attended southern high school just like mr Simms. I also played sports and attended Saint Rita right across the Road like Phil Simms did. I know what your thinking. And no, I did not go on to be a super bowl winning mvp like Phil Simms. That's where our life trajectories differs. For those unfamiliar with Phil Simms he was a relatively small time recruit who needed up at small morehead state university before becoming a top draft pick for the New York football giants and becoming a long time starter and super bowl winner for them. This generation may know him more for his duties as an nfl analyst. Overall Phil Simms is absolutely a deserving Recipient of the hometown heroes banners. He has accomplished great things during and post nfl career.

Phil Simms the local legend of course in Louisville unfortunately he did not get to go play for the University of Louisville because that would've been awesome. But he went to a smaller college in Kentucky. And then got drafted a giant got two Super Bowl's are kind of good stuff. So I've met Phil Simms when I was young he came back home after the Super Bowl and my dad and he were friends so they visited the old neighborhood and Phil pick me up and we took a picture I want to find that picture I haven't seen in a lot of years, ask my dad if I can see it drop off that be pretty cool. But besides that this is a nice dedication to him and representation of not only our city Louisville but our community of Okolona

A tribute and memorial to a Kentucky native and local war vet named colonel William Richard Higgins…read morethat sits in Lousiville Kentucky off Preston Highway next to the parking lot for local high school Southern high. Colonel Higgins made news cycles in 1988 when he was murdered while on active duty and serving the United Nations. This is a very nice and well done stone memorial that has some open space and two benches that sit out In front. Overall it is important to honor those who gave there all and paid the tiara sacrifice while protecting our citizens rights and freedoms. Any public art or memorial that educates and pats tribute is a great addition to any community or area.

This mural is just off Preston Highway and accessible through Saint Rita Catholic Church rear parking lot. Pretty standard and nice sized mural that serves its purpose. The soccer goal portion is near a playground so I'm sure the kids have a good time kicking a ball against the concert soccer goal mural.
