I had a horrible experience in the parking lot of this church tonight. I was parked close to the…read moreplayground area for about 5 minutes at around 9 pm playing "Pokémon Go" when a woman who is a member of this church approached me in my car from her vehicle. She asked if I needed something to which I replied "no, I am playing Pokémon Go" and showed her my phone. Perhaps she doesn't know what the game is, but her response was "you need to leave, this is private property, leave now!" l left immediately. I was considering joining this church given I had been stopping by it often as it is close to my house but definitely will not now. I was made to feel like a criminal. Sadly this church has a couple of nice Pokémon Go "stops" and "gyms" like most other churches. I will try to notify the creators of this game to remove this church from their app as visitors are not welcome according to her. Some people may agree with this woman but at times like these I think we should try to treat each other with respect and be more welcoming to others. I know she doesn't speak for the entire church but she is now the only reflection of the church that I have and will have.

My husband instantly felt comfortable and we both have grown so much since coming here!! It's not just for "cowboys". City folks and bikers attend as well. Its very much about coming as you are, no need to dress up. Some do, some don't, its your choice. The pastor and associate pastor are both very evangelistic and preach from the bible. It's definitely a bring your bible church. And every sermon will include lots of humor- both pastors can't help but make you smile. There's a fine line between preaching what the word says, but saying it with love to all mankind and they nail it. There will always be those who chose to be offended but if you read any sermon preached on paper by these guys you'd see that they aren't just preaching "at you" but at themselves and that we "hate the sin, not the sinner". No need to sugar coat things, just listen, learn and grow. Many beautiful testimonies have been shared by the pastors and congregation, we all have a story to share for what Jesus has done and can do in our lives. And if you don't have one- come here and they will be sure to help!

Thing Two came…read morehere for the first time this summer and participated in the week-long faith-based day camp from June 26th to June 30th, led by Pastor L.J. MuCulloch. This camp is designed for Kinder through 5th graders (who have just graduated 5th grade) and runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Children who participate in this camp play games, read scripture, and parents can purchase Chick-fil-A meals for $12.00 per day for kiddos. Each day, the children learn about various bible passages that align with the theme of the camp. Each summer, the camp theme changes, and this year, it was "Road Trip" (taking a trip to discover Christ). On the last day of camp, parents are invited to camp to hear 'the word' with their children, learn about what has been happening throughout the week, and have a meal with their campers. Aside from the faith-based center of the camp, as a parent, I appreciated the communication that was sent to parents daily via email and on paper as well as the security protocols put in place to drop off and pick up campers safely and effectively. As a bonus, professional photos of campers are taken daily doing various types of activities. Parents can view these photos on a private website and download photos of their camper(s). Thing Two liked this camp so much to the point that she asked to volunteer next year at this location. The cost of this day camp is $230.00 For parents with little ones (11 years and younger) looking for a faith-based local camp, this may be the place you have been looking for. The link below directs you to the website for the locations of camps in the U.S. and abroad. https://winshape.org/
