So my parter and I went to this place while in Mexico and agreed this was the best quality food we had while there. We wanted to make it like a tapas type visit so we shared everything but it was all fantastic.
The atmosphere is trendy, rustic and natural. Beautiful place!! When you walk into the bar area which is amazing, then into the main inside dining space. Then venture out of the main dining area into the outside spaces and will find the outside kitchen/oven area...so cool. The service team was outstanding and very attentive and helpful even though we didn't speak Spanish.
My partner had a tequila citrus drink while I went with my favorite, a smoked old fashioned. This one was very rich, not sweet, more like a dark plum note with a well blend of alcohols.
We had the fresh guacamole which was the best I have ever had, no joke! Then we had the tuna tostadas, wow they were good. Mild spices but the lime cream sauce was a perfect blend for the fish which, was moist and tender by the way.
We decided to go with dessert and a cocktail instead of an entree and it was worth it. The espresso martini was done very well, not too sweet but wasn't super strong either. The foam on the top kept the texture creamy and added a little sweetness.
The dessert was a chocolate tamale with vanilla ice cream. The chocolate came out but was very subtle so it was more of the corn taste than the chocolate. It was unique and tasty but maybe not what I would go for next time. That said, the ice cream was great and everything was fresh, prepared well and at amazing prices. This is a must visit!! read more
