Such a nice place where everyone is friendly and love the vibe. Have been there quite a few times and enjoy all the stylists I've ever had - especially Rachel. The boss, Trish, is even the sweetest! My longer-than-shoulder-length hair has always turned out the way I wanted it to - and I am picky! Recommend to all my friends and family! Great place! Mitchell is blessed to have such a nice place here in town! Very upscale. Lots of prom updos and extensions done here and those look gorgeous too! I can't believe other negative reviews. **RACISM IS ALIVE AND WELL** This place came highly recommended by my daughter, however, the service was completely unacceptable. This tatted girl (check for Nazi or White Supremacist tats) didn't take the time to give me a decent pedicure. She placed my feet on her LAP, who does that, a 5 year old?! She was unfriendly, unprofessional, and rude; she didn't talk to me at all! I attempted to make conversation, but she ignored me, and chatted with the nail girl and the nail girl's customer beside me, who were WHITE. She didn't acknowledge me and I felt completely unwelcome. My son grew his hair out for months to get a trim. We walk in and the young lady wouldn't even say Hi or acknowledge us let alone talk about what he wanted. A simple trim is what he wanted. Long curly hair that she jerked his head around trying to comb out, DRY. Asked her is she was not gonna shampoo it or wet it at least. Still no talk and simply rude. I thought perhaps it's because we're Native though we come from the East coast; simply rude. The worst part was that she wrecked his hair, kept chopping, despite us telling her what we don't want, and now we have to go to another place to fix her damages. This place is a diamond in the ruff. Rural South Dakota doesn't offer much in means of newly emerging, current trends, hip ideas, and FUN girls atmosphere. I see the brunette Tara (there are 2 Tara's) for my hair, nails, and waxing. I'll specifically compliment Tara below for things she's done or her work I've seen firsT hand. But I'll also give you a run down of what they do. Let me break it down: Waxing: the ONLY place within an 80 mile area that will do Brazilian waxing. And they do it well! No "oh I won't go there", as other places have done. Come on now, when all your bits are exposed, seeing it and saying no it just seem ridiculous. The girl I get my Brazilian (and hair) done with- Tara (the brunette- there are 2 Tara's!) is very professional, welcoming, and friendly. And very knowledgable. She will tell you how to position so she can get it ALL. And if you don't want it all- she'll leave some. She'll educate you on how to avoid ingrown hair, how to gently exfoliate the area, etc. The ladies also do legs, bikini, under the nose, arms, etc. Tanning: they do it! Spray on or standing beds- it's available! Nails: the have a small section for pedicures, but have a luxurious list up spa like treatments you can have done. Good selection of quality brand colors. Shellac! French mani's! Oh yes! And they're professional and up to date on how to safely remove polish without traumatizing your nails. Which yes, there are many other places in the surrounding area that will straight PEAL OFF your shellac if you let them! Hair. Everything from coloring (the usual colors to pinks and purples), low lights, highlights, dyeing, perms, permanent or clip in extensions (and they Tara does damn fine job). Tara is WONDERFUL: I originally came in with pictures of what I thought I wanted. She took the time to educate me on the differences of tones, warmth vs. Cooler shades depending on skin tones, and how certain colors wouldn't hold well in my hair over time. I appreciated the education so much! She does my blonde and I've loved it everytime. We've experiments with different tones, caramel low lights, platinum. She's so great she'll flat out tell you if something is a bad idea. She's never told me no- just that I probably would t like it. She also takes the time to put my hair up in little do's that I have 1) no experience doing, and 2) no time for. She has taught me some quick tricks as well for easy hair do's. If you want a FoHawk they'll get it done! Makeup: they do bridal parties all the time! Got a part to go to? They'll do it. Hair and makeup? Check. They even will do some awesome/freaky Halloween makeup! They carry Bare Essentials line. I like this brand, but their selection is limited. They do men's hair cuts, color, nose, eyebrow, and back waxing. No Brazilians for the men here though. They also do men's pedicures. They don't push their products (Lanza) hard. They make recommendations and offer suggestions. That's as far as they go. They all seem to get along well, ask advice or opinions of one another, and they all treat their clients as if they've known them Forever. Very friendly group of ladies!! Prices at every manageable given their extensive selection of services and the fact they are semi-rural. I highly recommend Tara (the brunette one!) she's easy going, fun, very educated on the newest, cutest, and best ideas for whatever you are looking for. Go see her! read more
