Evidently I was one of the luckier patients, that I got a weeks notice his office would be closing,…read moreso I was able to get my records. As I understand, he gave only 2 weeks notice to his staff, that he was retiring. If it wasn't for a health reason, then I find it very unethical way to end his career. I had to wait 4 weeks to get in to see him for a new patient overall exam. He diagnosed me with a disease I was not familiar with, took no time to explain what such prognosis meant, or what to expect. What he did tell me however was that I would NEVER get better, and that the meds he prescribed would hopefully keep things from getting worse. After 3 months on his regime I gave up, since the side effects were worse than the disease itself. I got better - without the meds. Dr. Weiner, as per the plaques in his office, is a renowned rheumatologist. However his bedside manner and rushed attitude make it difficult, especially when dealing with chronic illnesses. He may be a good fit for someone more advanced in their disease and prepared for the ups and downs. I was not, and hoped that a overall exam would last more than 10 mins. Very disappointed and makes me weary of doctors in general who just seem to grind out prescription after prescription.
