I called during the day to talk to someone about a more complicated tow. Super nice young man. Went about and beyond. However the reason I didn't give 5 stars is I called in the evening to ask a question and the man was rude. First impressions matter. This was the 5th tow company I called and the first one who was friendly to me...that's why I chose them. No one likes to go to the police impound lot to bail their car out, so I'll try to be fair in spite of that. My main concern is that I was told one price by the tow truck driver and then a higher price when I went to pick up the car. I commented, very politely, to the unfriendly gentleman behind the desk that this isn't what I was told. His response, without even looking up, was, "The driver knows the price so he wouldn't have told you that." I decided not to argue the point when noticed a sign hanging on the wall behind the desk saying, "Prices may vary depending upon the attitude of the customer." I paid the extra $10 and started to leave, but not before checking out another one of the signs hanging on the wall. "Criminals prefer unarmed victims." I thought that was brilliant. After the brakes stopped working on our vehicle we needed it towed to a shop for repair. The owner of the shop recommended Hollis and I'm very happy with the service we received. The guy who answered the call courteous, didn't quote some wide range of times a driver would arrive, and the driver showed up like 30 mins ahead of schedule. It was great. The driver was also courteous and arrived with a smile on his face. It's nice getting friendly service these days. He treated our vehicle with care and it arrived at the shop without a scratch. The afternoon of a terrible day was made much better by Mike. I hit a curb, blew my tire and could not change it because the tire was underneath the van. He went in the pouring rain and, although he could have made my day worse by towing me, he instead stood in the rain and changed my tire, saving me the added cost of towing the van and also the cost of a new tire. Mike came to my rescue initially to Jump start my car. He was kind and patient and went above and beyond to get it started but the battery was far gone. When I called for a tow they were pretty nice to me. They sent one of their driver right over when my car broke down on 202. He got there and his truck was big enough for my wife and son. Then took us to a ship to get our car looked at. Price was better than some of the other towing places. Since we wanted to get back home. read more

Called for a tow, got a really nice gentleman on the phone to take down the information. Had to wait a bit, but it was worth it when the driver got there. He was very very nice. I personally know Hollis. He is the nicest guy in the World. He has a Full Size Tow Truck Fleet with 5 drivers on the road all day every day. He provides Fast, Professional Service and only employs upstanding employees. If you ever have a complaint call Hollis Towing and ask for a callback from Hollis so you can file a real complaint. Then you will find out what an awesome guy he is. AND - He only tows what he is told to tow by the police. So keep in mind. The only reason he shows up is because the police called and said go get this vehicle. So your anger should be outside the police station and with complaints made to your local sheriffs office. You can call any local police district and say you want to file a complaint on an officer. Then they will get you a callback from a Sheriff who will personally follow up. read more

I called and the man who answered was very rude. Very poor customer service. When I tried describing the car and a sticker that is on the car (our company cars have numbers) he couldn't wrap his head around it. When I asked if I could have a call before they headed out to pick the car up he answered with, "Why would I call you?" Then I told him I would be there to give him the keys and started to question not just leaving the keys at the business. I started to share I wasn't familiar with the business (I am an admin at a company and couldn't get a hold of the driver of the car and am not personally familiar with the business). He then proceeded to interrupt me and tell me he would call me when he was on his way. In my years of dealing with towing services, no one has ever asked me that. He just was very impolite and added more stress to a stressful situation. Not using Hollis towing again after this situation. read more

These people get NO stars. They illegally broke into my car to take my emergency brake off to tow my car. It is ILLEGAL to break into a car without a police warrant or permission by the owner. Taking this one to the police FOLKS! read more

as said above noone likes to bail out their car. but ill try to be fair. im giving a 2 for the fact that my license and title were in the car, i had a block on the car and they wouldnt let me get anything without ID. so i had to pay 24$ for a dupe DL, 10 or so for the dupe title. countless money in parking and gas driving trying to get the hold released. if the owner only let the worker walk to the car, find my id look at it see its me, let me grab my title, then go release it, then come back and get it, it would have saved me 7 days of running around. as well as 7 days x $15/102$ tow fee employee was a nice guy but he had swastikas and stuff all over his face arms and neck, very nice guy though and i hope he doesn't follow that ideology, and i try not to judge. i cant blame the worker only the man who's in charge about not letting me get anything out of the car or even give it a chance to look. but maybe he was just following orders from police, its hard to say. he was a very nice guy and gave me paper work for my upcoming court case because police lied about the tow location. employee assured me no one was in my car, they rolled my windows up when it rained which was nice. he even gave me a mechanical tip cos he heard a noise when he drove it. read more

My wife was lied to in front of a swarn officer of the city of Dayton Oh about the price of the tow and the amount of the daily storage .The driver who had a name tag that read Chris wasnt sure if daily storage was ither $12 or $15 a day . When my wife went to pick up the car the driver was disrespectful and laughed at her when she quoted him as saying that the tow would be $75 . Upon calling to talk to the owner I was then treated nice until the dispatcher realized whom I was calling about then he became vary short and rude with me and took my number and said he would have the owner call me and then hung upon me . As a private contractor who reposes cars and uses several towing company's to do my towing when I am short handed I will never use your services . Beyond that I am filing a complaint to the Dayton Police Department & the local Better Business Bureau . I look forward to hearing from the owner and would appreciate that in the future that your drivers and other personnel would be polite and courteous to the people who use your services and come in to have their vehicle released . I would not of had a problem if your driver (Chris) would have treated my wife with respect but he didn't . read more
