One of my pleasures are visting public libraries from different parts of the world. I came to…read moreKetchikan on a cruise ship and found their library online. It is a ten to twenty minute walk from the dock which doesn't feel like a long time as there are plenty of nature to see going there. The views from this library are spectacular and the inside is so clean and orderly. There are study rooms and different sections to read and do activites in such as a "teen" seating area, children's corner, MPR, western area (great views!), etc. They have plenty of books, CDs and DVDs to look through. The librarian was nice and offered me a free wfi code to use. If you are visiting I highly reccommend making time to see their public library and get to know some history of Ketchikan.

Whether you're looking for a light vacation read, gift, or something educational about Alaska and its people, this is worth a stop. We found books to bring home to our kids that we didn't see in any other store and that they'll enjoy longer than a typical souvenir. Friendly staff and easy to navigate layout.

This library serves the 181 residents of Coffman Cove, AK and many tourists. The collection of the…read morelibrary contains 16,253 volumes and circulates 9,418 items per year. I loved this library as it is the heart beat of Coffman Cove; it is the WIFI spot in town 24/7. We could Yelp and FB to our hearts content from the comfort of our car or in a nice rocking chair on the front porch. They also have a nice collection of books about the area for us tourists. A good use of community taxes.

This park can be somewhat deceivingly small from the parking lot, but once you head down the walkway, there are a multitude of totems to learn about. It was really interesting learning not only about the history of the totems, but of the restoration projects being done to them as well. There is also a replica house that you can see the inside of too and great views of the water!

Spent less than an hour, which is more than enough time. The bus only runs through every hour on the '7' - so don't miss it. Overall, I was underwhelmed given the hype. $5/person entry fee. I would have been really annoyed if I had purchased an excursion package for this for $79 per person.
