I was transferred to Jane who identified herself as the front desk person. I asked about the number of medical staff in the practice, and how referrals are handled. Jane wasn't friendly and treated me as if she didn't understand why I would be asking questions about the practice. I asked to schedule an appointment, and Jane told me someone would call me on Monday (it was Friday) to schedule an appointment. I asked if I could make an appointment right then, and she said, "No." I never received a call from CIM. Based on other reviews found on Yelp, and my experience with CIM, I suggest finding another more reliable medical practice.

I am not sure what all of their duties entail but I can say that they are always incredibly busy, with outstanding customer service at all times. I had a hard time typing the words "Customer Service" because they make me feel like family. Also... check in is a breath of fresh air compared to most other clinics. Amber and Robbie embrace you and get ya signed in and warmly seated with a sweet smile. There is never a wait so very shortly you get called back weighed, vitals taken , etc, all done quickly and with utmost respect. Again NO WAIT....then,IN A FLASH There is a knock at the door and in walks your provider!!!! Every Single Time!!! Bonus is that urgent care is right there, they have their own lab too!!! They take most insurances including Medicare and Medicaid. I cannot emphasize enough how great the front desk staff is. Also no one gets referrals done as fast as these guys do. They're fast professional and on the ball. They make you feel like they understand. I have been there in extreme pain and simply their eye contact and tone of voice has calmed me down. I am so grateful they are here. Again there is never a wait... Please acknowledge Robbie and Amber of the front desk with a HUGE RAISE and a PROMOTION along with that please give them an all expense paid vacation with their families to the destination of their choice. DR. KAREN WOOD & ANGELA GO THE EXTRA MILE!!…read more I've been living in the Southport, North Carolina, Brunswick County area for over 2 years now. Finding a local doctor who can accommodate you during crisis as well as an excellent diagnostician is a hard find to begin with. Lucky for me a family member highly recommended Dr. Karen Wood. Dr. Wood welcomed me into her practice and her nurse Angela is always so welcoming, funny, such a pleasure to be around and thorough. Together, along with the rest of the medical and office staff, Melissa, Karin, Monica, Kristina and Dee, this team is second to none. An example of their, "Above and beyond" approach is when I needed support locally to participate in a clinical trial for the prevention of cancer reoccurrence. I would have to fly to St. Louis from NC every month for 3 months. I needed to be checked 15 days after the vaccine was administered and couldn't fly back for that. I also wanted to avoid driving to Duke Medial (7 hrs round trip) were my Oncologist is. The clinical trial Director approved Dr. Wood to oversee the exams in between visits. Angela, Dr. Wood's nurse jumped through hoops getting all the necessary paperwork processed. When something didn't show up, she was on it. I can't thank her enough for all that she did for me. Also, a special thanks and loads of gratitude to Dr. Wood for agreeing to all this and always having my back. I highly recommend Dr. Wood and her Family Medical Center. The staff are friendly and always welcoming. And no one beats my Angela!!!
