As a couple from New Jersey getting married in Tennessee I had no clue where to even start with the…read moresearch for a photographer to document the biggest day of our lives. Luckily the wedding venue manager had a list of vendors and Rich Smith Photography was one of them. I reached out and instantly hit it off with Rich. He thoroughly explained the process, was very attentive to detail, responded quickly to all my emails, and just made me super comfortable that he would be perfect for the job. I went on his website to learn more and see samples of his work and was thoroughly impressed with not only how he captured beautiful naturally occurring moments in his photography but also how open he was about his background and his family which made me realize he was a good person. We took a trip to Tennessee to view the wedding venue and meet all the vendors and as part of the photography package, Rich offered us an engagement photo session for free. He was accommodating to work that in to the short time we were visiting. This was really helpful in getting to understand his style, and for just learning in general how to have pictures taken of us (which in my opinion is the hardest part). We got more comfortable as time went on and Rich made suggestions and creatively interpreted our ideas. If we were uncomfortable trying something, he didn't push us at all. It had to be tough for him because I hate having photos taken of me but he was so patient. The value you get for your money is just incredible. We added on a photo booth package that will allow our guests to take fun and goofy pictures at the wedding that they get to download after the event. It's not your typical photo booth, it will be an actual photographer that can help give direction in lieu of a machine you work yourself. From the samples Rich sent, guests love participating and look like they have a blast doing so! So far, the pictures from our engagement photo shoot were awesome. He had our photos ready right on time as he promised. Communication was great too: he put our photos online right away and explained the process for downloading them for print and to use for our save the dates. We're so happy with how they turned out. We cannot wait for our wedding day to work with Rich again. I highly recommend having Rich document your special occasions. You will not be disappointed!

BEWARE! This photography company is a SCAM! The photographer is a scam artist with an expensive…read morecamera and no skill for the trade! We used this photographer for my sister-n-law's wedding, and, it was the worst mistake ever! She was almost 2 hours late to the photo shoot. She took very few photos of the bride and groom together. Took only a few shots of the wedding party. Supposedly took "video" of the wedding, which, actually turned out to be just a DVD of a bunch of photos thrown together. Left extremely early! Basically, as soon as the "I dos" were said. Her "editing" of the photos was awful. They looked like she only spent a few minutes on each one (if that)! Even though the wedding was in February, it was beautiful and warmer outside. The photographer made everyone stand in the shade for the photographs instead of using the sun or the settings on her camera to her advantage.... The wedding, as I have said, was in February and my sister-n-law did not get her photos back until August! And, that was only after asking the photographer multiple times for her pictures (which were paid for up front by the brides grandma)! Jodi was extremely rude to the bride and the brides mother and told them that she would "NOT deal with them! The bride was NOT the paying customer!". That she would only deal with the brides grandmother who paid. But, still (after many attempts by the brides grandma to contact Jodi) she did not even respond to her! If I could give this photography company (if you can even call it that) a 'zero' I would! What a joke!
