The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. We took the tour and it was overall okay. Our tour guide was very nice, but she couldn't answer some questions, so we kept our questions to ourselves, so as not to fluster her. She did say that we were her 4th or 5th tour group. The reason I didn't rate it higher is due to what we feel is unclear Marketing. Our main reason for flying out from NC was to buy the bourbon that is only available for purchase at this distillery. No where does it state that it is only available during certain times of the year. So it is pretty disappointing to come out here to find that out. We had planned on purchasing quite a bit, but feel that it was a wasted journey, not to mention all the travel costs associated. The staff told us that we, "should've called me before coming out," and "I've been told that it's been found in Hyvee in Kansas City if you want to hunt." And the best one, "we'll let you know two days before we release so you can fly back out here, and hopefully get some." We are not the type of people that can just pick up and fly wherever and whenever we wish. In my opinion, it was very condescending of her to assume so. We didn't get an apology nor that they will speak to the Marketing team about maybe updating their verbiage on their various pages to let consumers know of the limited availability of their Ancient Cave and single barrel bottles. read more

What a great time. This experience was way underestimated by me. The property is very beautiful and rich with history. Ask questions! The staff knew all the answers and more; I left with such a better knowledge base of the area and history; also the bourbon. Harrison was our tour guide and he was super informative and made the tour that much better. You're able to order drinks before and after; you can bring your drink with you on your tour. This distillery is great. I went on many tours of distilleries in Kentucky and none of them let you drink alcohol while you toured the place. 25cent samples!! Be sure to try the Irish Cream, it truly is the best. Five Farms Irish Cream. I can't wait til their bourbon is ready in April. I'm sure Hank will hold me a bottle. What an amazing little gem near Kansas City! This Tour should be on your list when taking a trip to Weston, Mo. The tour is only 10 dollars and lasted over an hour. This includes 3 different tasters at the end and 10% off in their product store. The views itself could make the tour but a lot of cool information is shared as well. Most people have already said it all, but I'll restate it as well.. This is a very cool place. I have toured just about every Bourbon distillery in Kentucky and this tour is as good, if not better than some of them. Malia? Malina? (I apologize) was the tour guide and she totally rocked it. She did it all. Made drinks, drove the bus, gave the tour, answered questions. etc.. She is someone that is a huge asset to this company and I hope they see and recognize that. She's going places. She was very enthusiastic and genuinely cared. More places need people like her. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and attentive. The gift shop had a good variety of items but were out of a hat I was interested in. Not that I needed it, but it would have been nice. The grounds were just beautiful. You can tell people really are doing their jobs and taking care of the property. They haven't been in the Bourbon game too long (recently started back after 30 years) so they are aging their bourbon now for a future release. You take a bus down to the distilling area, and get to see the springs, distillery, aging warehouse and bottling area. Of course you get to try samples and can buy some more for very cheap. This was a really nice tour on my birthday. My other plans didn't work out at all, but this tour really helped my day turn around. Thank you Holladay! read more

Great stop and tour but they didn't have bourbon quite yet. Won't be out for another 2+ years. I did walk away with my own mini-bourbon barrel and fresh corn mash to age my own bourbon. Such a beautiful location. Rolling hills meticulously kept up. We went to listen to Jack Summers perform on the patio and had a brilliant time. Drinks are delicious. Take the tour if you have time, the building where they store the barrels is so eerie and smells incredible. read more

Went for the big debut of their new royal berry 360 today. Loved the building and the music although not a ton of seating options. We ended up getting 2 cocktails with different 360 flavors as we didn't love the new royal berry flavor but we both really enjoyed our cocktails. Overall I would give this place a "maybe." The grounds are beautiful and the history is second to none, from what I read on the internet. However, the wait for drinks were on the longer side and honestly the place was not all that busy. A couple reviews mentioned the staff was not too personal and I'd agree with this. I ordered a flight of whiskey and didn't get much from the server. This is where I feel the server should be enthusiastic and really sell the spirits, but she just recommended a couple types and that's it. No history on the process or what sets this bourbon apart, etc. The Old Fashioned is okay, but definitely not anything to write home about. The bourbon itself is decent, nothing top-shelf, but overall good depth and flavor. My probably biggest issue is the proof. It's got some high alcohol content and I know some distilleries desire that untouched proof, but for tastings a little ice or water wouldn't hurt. Now I didn't do the tour, but in the past when I would go to distilleries I always get a sense of pride from the servers and very welcoming attitude. Not so much with this place. read more

Recently rebranded as the Holladay Distillery (formally McCormick), they offer a great hands-on tour of their facilities with lots of history. Their bourbon should be ready in about 10 months - using the original recipe of Ben Holladay. The tour is well worth the $10 that includes several samples at the end. Bored with Kansas City, my wife and I headed on a whim go Holladay distillery near Weston. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and will be sure to visit again in a few years. Our tour guide, Alfonso, was fantastic. You can tell that the company is working through different tour setups, but all the employees we met and talked with were so nice and personable. If you go, see if you can hook up with Alfonso! The best part of the tour is simply the educational process. If you are a whiskey/bourbon/scotch person, then you should enjoy the tour. The learning and intimacy you get at this distillery is far more than I've had at others. It's $10 a person, but our tour lasted for a full hour and the. ended with tastings. The only downside - they've just begun to bottle their bourbon, so as of mid-2106, it's still going to be 2.5 years before you get to try any of it. You end the tour by sampling different flavored vodkas, tequilas, and whiskies - all okay but nothing earth shattering. Once they add the bourbon, it will be really worth the experience. Honestly, the drinks weren't even the best part of the experience. Overall, you can tell that they care about your experience. For ten bucks, it was a really informal and enlightening experience, and we really enjoyed it. read more

Enjoyed a nice Saturday tour with ideal weather. Our guide was very nice and the grounds were pristine. Apparently they just had a wedding there the weekend before and I couldn't imagine a better backdrop. My buddy and i were lucky as there was only two other to make a small group of four so the tour was very personal. Everything from the sampling, the history lessons and the explanation of the whole process was great. I cant wait until the bourbon is released in 2020. The only drawback is they don't have have any food on premises. Picked up some nice souvenirs in the gift shop to take back home. Even if you're not too much into bourbon or liquor, this is a fun tour at a beautiful location. As we came up to the premises, we were offered a free hotdog, popcorn, and chips. Not something we'd expected but eating that "snack" turned out to be a pleasant interlude as we sat outside, overlooking a beautiful rural field. Everyone at the main house, as well as on the tour was extremely kind. Best to be prepared to walk a bit on this tour, plus there are some stairs you're going to need to navigate. I was impressed with how much each tour guide seemed to genuinely like talking about their products, as well as how extremely clean and beautiful the entire site is. At the end of the tour you have vouchers for two tastes. Two very very teeny tastes! My brother and I actually intended to go the Weston's Applefest but the crowds were so ridiculous that we wound up at the distillery instead. Truthfully, I think we might've ended up with the better alternative as our time was informational, and peaceful. read more

It was a great little day trip. Beautiful weather and interesting tour. We happened to have a "question asker" on our tour so it was pretty drawn out. Do NOT try to take any pictures near the barrel barn!!! I thought the tour guide was going to skin me and hang me from the flag pole when I tried to take a photo in front of the cool bar wood door, completely innocent picture. Update: Recently did the Breckenridge Distillery tour in Colorado. It had nothing on this tour. This one is great. Roll out the barrel, this distillery is a barrel of fun! In depth, hands on and brand new. The tour highlights the bourbon making process for bourbon that won't be available until 2019. Definitely worth a look if you are in the KC area. read more

Tours are one hour long, and reservations are encouraged but walk ins are accepted. I found Jim, our guide, to be highly personable and knowledgable. The tour recaps over a hundred years of history and is a must see if you visit Weston. Hats off to Holladay for creating a green and sustainable future for the company's 360 legacy. I was completely impressed by the condition of the grounds and the spirit of pride and industry in the air. We really enjoyed this tour, going in with nothing to expect! Arrived and payed 10$ per person and got on a bus that took us to the distillery plant, there we saw the Ancient Cave where old Mr. Holliday first stored the first batches, then moved to the building and learned about the difference between whiskey and Bourbon and did some testing, then saw where the barrels were stored and then how the alcohol is packed and distributed. The site is beautiful, very well kept and you can tell staff has pride of their job. Our tour guide was Al who did a great job. When we got back we tried some of the liquors! Wonderful 75 min tour! This Distillery was on a Beautiful piece of land. Our Tour Guide, "Alec" was Fantastic, Funny and Informative. The Distillery opened in 1856 and has lots of wonderful history. The distillery tour was great! Our guide was knowledgable, it was informational and tasty time.

We were excited to be one of the first groups to tour the Holladay Distillery! The distillery is nestled in a very beautiful part of Missouri amongst rolling hills and a limestone creek. The tour itself took us through the distilling house, an old cave where they used to store barrels, the barrelhouse, the bottling facility and of course for some samples back at the guesthouse. Unfortunately no Bourbon samples yet (it takes 2+ years to age and they just barreled the first batch last month)! But we did try some Peach 360 Vodka that was tasty and some KeKe key lime liquor that would be awesome over ice cream. They definitely have some kinks to work out regarding the tour process and the overall knowledge of the tour guide, but that is to be expected being the first couple weeks the tour has been offered! read more

We took this tour to celebrate our anniversary. It was a beautiful day and from the very start, entering the grounds of this distillery, we were completely impressed. We were greeted immediately by staff and welcomed with coffee and popcorn. Shortly after, we were greeted by our tour guide Lana. She loaded us up on the van and proceeded to lead us on an excellent tour. Her knowledge of the distillery was perfection and delivered in a fun manner. I was particularly impressed with the breath taking grounds of this distillery and also the cleanliness, not one blade of grass out of place, not even one trash item to be seen anywhere. The tour lasts around an hour and is very well organized. Tasting a couple of products at the end and a trip through the gift shop was the perfect finale for the tour and we enjoyed a cocktail on the deck before leaving. We had to laugh that not only was Lana our tour guide, but she then appeared as the tasting room attendant and her knowledge of product was spot on. She also appeared as the bartender and lastly, the gift shop cashier. She even took a minute to check on us out on the deck enjoying our delicious cocktails, and I highly recommend the Keke Cooler. Thanks, Lana, and you deserve a huge raise, you're the bomb!! My husband works in the grain industry and I moonlight at a bar in the evenings so we really enjoyed this tour, could relate to this well. So to sum this tour up, it's a must-see if you are near Weston, made for a great highlight of our special day!!! read more
