They're easy to get a hold of via phone and flexible in scheduling if you need to reschedule. I've been lessoning with Rose who is great at pushing you, giving good, positive feedback, and matching you with a horse best for you. One of the main things you'll notice is that all the horses seem really happy. I've ridden 3 different lesson horses who all are ready to go and never seem overworked. You can tell the staff is all super familiar with each and every horse and the boarders and frequent lessoners. Very welcoming and a good place to build confidence and skills as a beginner. One only minor complaint is that it's such a well oiled machine with so much staff that I don't get a lot of experience with tacking, brushing, cleaning, or other horse care. They usually have staff that take care of it for you.

She works with the same trainer every week and it's wonderful to note her progress after every lesson. Our trainer has been wonderful. My daughter responds well to her teaching style. She knows how to get my daughter to do her best and that's awesome. You can tell she cares. The overall feel of this facility is easygoing and we never feel out of place here. The relaxed atmosphere has helped my daughter relax too. I will continue to use Jaynesway Farms. I recommend this place to anyone looking to start riding.

We are attending a HITS run horse show here, currently, so I'll try to keep this review as on track with the facility itself, rather than the show management. The landscaping here at lamplight is unmatched and truly makes the show peaceful and beautiful. Green and purple trees along with perfectly manicured grass make for a stunning photo backdrop. The area around this facility is lovely to drive around and Lamplight is no exception to this beautiful area of St Charles.

The only downside is they don't get back to you quickly. My second lesson here, after a few days, they responded saying my lesson would be at 7:30 PM. Apparently my almost 7 year old daughter only likes to excel at expensive extracurricular…read moreactivities! Lucky us. lol She is currently into the very expensive activity of horseback riding. She loves it! Her trainer is Kate who has been around horses all of her life. She is an excellent trainer and recently talked us into letting our daughter enter her first competition which she placed 3rd in only after having 10 lessons with Kate. A lot of kids take lessons here and all seem very happy. Some children take lessons several times per week, some once a week. They have a horse leasing program for you to share a horse and do boarding there. When my daughter arrives, she goes and gets all of her horses gear and pretty much does everything herself with a little help from an older girl. She is trained for a half hour by Kate than takes the horses gear off at the end, brushes him off and gets help putting him in his stall. All of the horses are taken care of and happy at this barn. There are no saddle marks, they are clean and in happy dispositions. There are many sizes so your child can start off on a pony and move up. Classes are $40 per class.

We could see their very well-cared-for horses in the pasture as we were driving up. The horses we rode were wonderful: balanced, responsive, smooth; and we saw a few other lesson horses being ridden who looked equally good It was extremely hot, but our horses were forward and had plenty of energy for a nice jumping lesson. Our instructor, Kate, was fantastic and all of the staff and helpers there were very friendly.

I was put on safe, level appropriate (and extremely nice!) horses and I have never been remotely uncomfortable. I take 2 lessons a week and they have done a wonderful job of getting me back in riding shape both physically and mentally. I learn something new each time, and am progressing faster than I imagined/expected thanks to their careful and extremely knowledgeable instruction. My daughter was riding twice a week and loving the barn, new friends and the two ponies she was riding. The trainer started pressuring me right away to lease a horse and I wasn't interested until she had at least six months of lessons. They bought in a pony and wanted me to see it...it was really old and overweight...I really couldn't believe it!!! They asked me for THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS a year to lease this horrible looking pony....I actually did laugh as it was so ridiculous...A half lease anywhere costs 250.00 a month at ANY barn. I have been an equestrian for thirty years...they just didn't know it. We arrived at our next lesson and a seventeen hand horse that was way to advanced for a beginner was given to my daughter...I questioned what was going on and was coldly told that the ponies would not be available any further to us as we did not want to lease!!!! My daughter was in the very small arena and they bought in an out of control horse that was bucking and rearing to lunge...with my nine year old in the ring just ten feet away....I entered quickly and took my daughter down and left Kinvarra for good. It was the most dangerous , negligent ...on purpose bunch of crap I have ever seen at a barn. These people are con artists and if they don't get what they want they will put your child in danger.

It is a happy place where horse lovers can find a true connection with horses and good great people. If I wouldn't have to work, I would spend big part of my last there. It is my favorite place to rebalance myself. I am a mother of two little kids, just waiting for them to turn 8 and start having this wonderful connection with horses. We would also contact them about some things but of course, they would never get back to us. I can tell they have improved since then as my friend rides there and have been there a couple times in late 2022. They do schooling shows and everything and loads of events for any level of rider. I do think they can improve more since they do wait a really long time before riders are able to canter and jump. I may go back to Trillion at some point if they improve. Please let me know anyone if they improve in any way.
