Clean, simple motel, and priced appropriately. Has WIFI, and friendly folks at the front desk. I recommend this motel if your looking for a basic place to spend the night.

Love the details!

What a wonderful hidden gem! We were referred here by another local large chain hotel because they were sold out- due to spring break. Would you believe they waited for us? The room was immaculate & so much cleaner & better than most 4 star hotels we've stayed in. This is our new place!

Bathroom-so clean and cute

The cutest and CLEANEST motel I have EVER been to. Hands down. Very affordable and the best choice if stopping through Clayton. I LOVE the vintage feel. They also had the cutest elephant towel thing on the bed when we walked in-just put a smile on all our faces. And to top it off the breakfast included was so simple and good -just what we wanted before getting back on the road! We were looking at a couple other choices in Clayton but come to find out, they are just more expensive, dirtier and looks like Super 8 even has the dreaded bed bugs. Definitely stop here and don't think twice! :)

Forgot to mention the cute towel elephant!

Very quaint and clean! The young lady at the front desk even stayed past closing to wait for us to check in! After 12 hours on the road, we were beyond thankful we found this little gem. This will absolutely be on our list of approved hotels when traveling through Clayton. Did I mention it was clean?!?! A little dated, but so clean and comfortable.

Decent little motel in Clayton. Shower head pressure was good and it was nice and quiet.

First off let me say this was the cleanest place I think I've ever stayed. I need their cleaning crew to do my house. It was spotless! I was so impressed. The vintage charm was great. The rooms were quiet. The water was hot and the air conditioning was cold. We parked right outside our room and felt very safe. We had been on vacation in Montana when our account was compromised and our bank in central TX froze our account/cards. We don't do credit cards and we're in a panic. We had reservations at a large chain motel in Colorado who wouldn't allow us to check in without a credit card to pre auth. We were calling and calling hotels along our route and being told no over and over. We thought we were going to have to drive 1400 miles home without stopping and we were tired and emotional. Patrick took our call and gave us his last room. He left us the key since we were still north of Denver when we got in touch with him. He allowed us to pay cash in the morning. We feel so blessed by their hospitality and kindness. There are still good people in this world and Patrick is one of them!

Rooms are super clean!

This was our midway stop on our trip to Colorado. When i was informed that we would be staying in a motel...I was skeptical. The thought brought to mind scary movies and smoke soaked linens. Holiday Motel was a fantastic surprise. The owners are very friendly and keep the place well maintained and super clean. I will definitely be staying here again in the future, and you should too!

Towel elephant left on the beds.

Clean with friendly owners. Significantly less than in-town options. All we do here is stay overnight while passing through, and this is good for that. The building is a '50s-style old school motel. I think the owner said it was built in the late '50s. You'll find a little deferred maintenance here and there, but it's really kept clean, safe, and comfortable.

It's good if you need a stop in the road to crash. Lady at the front is so sweet and it's clean. Bathrooms are nice.

Our Eastward travels on the backroads brought us to this hidden gem. This was a very cool old…read morehistoric building, preserved and so well taken care of. Parking on the side of the building made access to the entrance just a few steps away. Our check in was quick and easy by a friendly member of the staff. We were assigned to Room #202. The elevator made our getting there painless, with the opportunity for using the stairs to get back down. The room, while small, was like a step back in time, cowboy themed and clean. We settled in and proceeded to the dining room for dinner. After perusing the menu we opted for the Sirloin Steak dinner with baked potato and choice of vegetable of the day and side salad. We also ordered a drink from the bar, the local Alien Amber Pint for me and the Mondavi Chardonnay for my wife. I enjoyed my beer but sorry to say that the wine was terrible, though my wife would not let this be known there. Dinner arrived and was plated beautifully, unfortunately the steaks were very tough, grisly and even hard to cut. The flavor was good and they had been cooked a perfect medium rare but the star of this dinner was a terrible disappointment. Again, my wife did not want to say anything. We finished dinner with a Gin and Tonic, enjoying the company of the other folks dining here for just a bit, some local and others passing through as were we, then headed back up to our room, finishing our drink there, to call it a day. The bed was very comfortable and the crisp sheets made our great night sleep even better. Three trains passed through the city overnight and I heard all three of them, loving the whistles and the sounds that only a train can make. We headed to breakfast in the morning with high expectations based on reviews that we had read about 'made to order' omelets and tasty baked goods, but for us the whole experience was just a bit strange and hard to explain. A sign at the entrance of the dining area described the choices from the kitchen. We proceeded in and took a seat. A lady from the kitchen asked if we would like coffee and that was a "yes". She brought the coffee then as she began her return to the kitchen I had to approach her asking about the procedure for getting breakfast. We requested the Quiche. The 'Crustless Quiche' was really nothing more than an omelette cut in the shape of a piece of pie. It was served to us, by a lady who worked in the kitchen, on a cold plate, and the 'quiche' itself was dry and cool as well. The only other breakfast items available, on a side table set up in the restaurant, were a small amount of oatmeal in a crock pot, which was still hot, with cinnamon and brown sugar on the side. And, there were cold biscuits with butter and jelly , and a small piece of cinnamon coffee cake that we split. There was also some kind of juice. I try not to be too harsh in my 'Yelps' but for me this breakfast experience was a terrible end to our stay in this historic hotel. Would we stay here again if our travels took us this way again? I am not sure. We loved the old hotel. The people were friendly but our dining experiences were disappointing. Still, I gave this a four because we enjoyed everything at this hotel other than our dining experiences.

The next day we missed breakfast that was served from 6:30-8:30. we were up at 9. The owner told us that was their rule, so we left to get breakfast elsewhere. Came back on hour later and the lobby door was locked. Again we called to be let in by the cleaning staff. There policy is to keep everything locked during the day because there is no one to on staff. We checked out went to a Best Western down the road. The beautiful bar is not open at all while we were there, sign on the door said no tours were given. Oh yes the train comes through town near the hotel 3 times a day-horn blaring. That just makes staying there less appealing. I have never stayed in a hotel that did not have a customer service focus but I have now. Historic charm is not enough-stay at your own risk.

I said so you just took my money but I can't shower, brush my teeth, or have coffee but you took my money. Then she said yeah and there's no refunds. I noticed a hand written note on the counter in bold letters, we do not accept cash for any reason under any circumstances. That was the first red flag because this has been an issue or that sign wouldn't be there. So basically the scam is, take their money, THEN tell em you don't get what you pay for then scream at em, don't give it back and hope they leave so you don't have to clean a room. It worked!! I was furious and left without a refund before the cops were called as I was stunned at the theft and not cooperating. There was food or something stuck to the blanket on the bed. Don't even get me started on the bedspread!! Yuck. I had a hard time getting under the covers but I figure the sheets were probably the cleanest thing on the bed. Most of the lamps were missing light bulbs and the TV didn't work. I wouldn't want to stay here again. It's crazy how much we paid and we got it on Priceline. Not a good deal, no matter the price. I should add, that there isn't really room for trailer/ oversized vehicle parking, there is an abandoned parking lot connected to the property but not something I would recommend parking in.
