Enjoy our stay at this beautiful hotel
    Gladis I.

We booked a room here to attend a surprise birthday party for our niece in bridgeview. The hotel was 15 minutes away so it was very convenient. This hotel was very nice, the staff was super nice. Xavier was sweet and very informative, answered all our questions. At the breakfast area, we met a very sweet and kind lady named Claire she made us feel welcome as if we were at her home. Claire was super nice to everyone she greeted in the buffet area. The two young ladies we met as the housekeeping were super sweet. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're in this area. Comfortable and clean.

Quick check in, clean rooms, lovely indoor pool. Real food for breakfast no powdered eggs. Last here in 1988 for our wedding and the physical changes are huge. Only thing left is the fireplace we we're married in front.

Broken elevator we were stuck in

Not gonna say much more about this, but since I got charged an additional $25, here goes... So there's 3 elevators there, one was out of commission when we got there. So after checking out our room, we went down to the pool to see what it was like, and as we went back up to our room... WE GOT LOCKED IN THE ELEVATOR!! Nothing like having your kid freak the hell out & needing to be rescued from the not working elevator. We were in there for only 5-6 minutes, but with only 1 elevator working, we didn't want to chance it again & used the stairs for the remainder of our stay... and we were on the 5th fucking floor, ironically right next to the noisy ass elevators. The front desk gal asked what room we were in upon our rescue, and I thought we might be getting a discounted rate, but no! Not only did we not get a break on the price, but we were charged $25 for incidentals, which I can't possibly understand, we were there less than 12 hours & didn't use anything more than the lights & tv. The room itself wasn't bad. The upgrades look nice. Aside from the blackout curtains that wouldn't close or stay together, so we most certainly woke up at the ass crack of dawn with the East facing windows letting all the sun into our room at 5:45 am. Cool shower, that didn't drain well, so 2" of water stayed in the shower for a few hours after it was used, so I had to stand in cold old water after we used it almost 2 hours before. Lots of smoke smell in the non smoking room too, but I guess that's to be expected. 2 different friends recommended this place, but unless it's free, I wouldn't stay here again.

If I had to describe it, I would say the pool area is gorgeous! The hotel overall, it's okay but it seems really older and the common areas and rooms are very out dated looking. The AC in the room was super cold at the beginning of our stay but seemed to be less and less cool with use after a few days. The common areas like hallways and elevators were very hot and muggy inside the hotel. The onsite washer was good, but the dryer didn't work and kept my change. It was frustrating, but whatever. The wifi is the WORST. When your device is dormant for even one second the wifi drops and you have to re-add the wifi using the password...over and over and over again. The staff up front was pleasant and friendly. I liked that the front area is stocked with complimentary apples, that was a nice touch. Housekeeping was good at the beginning, but they didn't get our room fixed up on the day I really really needed it cleaned and we were prepping for a wedding. They showed up very late in the day with extra towels and toiletries when the room was full of people. I had called the front desk early to ask for cleaning and there was no confirmation given on when it would happen. Apparently it was only offered very late in the day. When I approached housekeeping to ask for help in the hallway earlier in the day they backed away and said "no English". It was again frustrating. I would come here again for the beautiful pool and hot tub, but just feeling "meh" about the rest of it.

Room looks like 1980 hotel, plus they said this room was newly remodeled. LOL

While visiting Chicago, my husband and I ended up choosing to stay at Best Western Plus Chicagoland…read more- Countryside because staying in Chicago is really expensive and thought staying at this location was still within a very reasonable amount of driving distance to Chicago. My husband and I ended up staying for about a week here and checked in rather late on a Tuesday night, around 9 pm. The employee at the front desk was very friendly and even gave us 2 bottles of water when we checked in. We ended up being placed at the very end of the hallway on the first floor. This room was right next to the side exit and also right next to the vending machine and ice machine. Unfortunately because of this location, it was noisy in the evening with people getting ice at 2 am and later or coming and going out of the side exit at random times of the night (and these guests were not courteous to be quiet with the rooms they passed by). The next night, we had asked if we could change rooms and the same employee who checked us in the night before said there were no other rooms available and said "it is what it is"... a bit disappointed by his lack of help so we just stayed in our room for the rest of our stay with interruptions throughout the evenings (if you end up getting this room, I would recommend you ask to move to another location, especially if you are a light sleeper). The room itself was fine in terms of cleanliness and room. We stayed in a room with a king bed that also had a mini fridge and microwave. Our room also had free WiFi and free breakfast (6 am- 9 am on week days and 7 am- 10 am on weekends). It was a full breakfast, that included eggs, sausage, various cereals (cold and hot), make your own waffle, bread/ pastries, coffee, tea and yogurt). There is also one washer ($1.50 per use) and one dryer machine ($2.25 per use) on site available for use (which we ended up using one night). They are both coin operated. There is also a gym on site was that had 2 treadmills, one elliptical, one bike machine, free weights, one lap pull down bar and one bench. There was also plenty of clean towels available. I did use the gym twice during our stay and thought it was fine for me. Overall, our stay was okay. I would have liked something a little nicer but I think for the price, it was acceptable. I think the trash did need to be taken out more often though, as the trash can by the vending machine + ice machine was full and people started to just pile their trash around it since it no long fit in the trash can. Just remember, if you do stay here, request for another room if you are placed at the end of the hallway on the first floor that is by the side exit, vending machine and ice machine.

They addressed issues and had i not been so tired every time we came home, I'm sure we could have had the problems solved or room moved for a better overall experience. But the reality is, some times, sh!t happens. And in our case.. the toilet ran all night! They did say they sent someone up the next day to fix, but sadly it was not fixed. When i checked out, i let the girl behind the desk know and she really didn't express any concern that perhaps a dissatisfied customer was leaving the building. Overall though the room and hotel was nice. The air freshener upon entering the hotel was VERY OVERWHELMING! Thankfully it was not like that on the room floors or in rooms. Ample parking. And good location for our needs. If i came back to the area, I'd likely look for another hotel simply because of being dismissed at checkout. But in general it's not a bad hotel.

Check-in was smooth, staff was professional, and the room itself was clean and up to standard. The bed was comfortable and it served its purpose well for a short-term stay during a stressful transition. That said, I can't give a full 5 stars because of a few issues during our stay. There were several nights where noise carried late into the hallways, including guests having parties nearby that made it hard to fully rest. We also noticed some disruptive behavior outside the rooms at times that wasn't really addressed quickly. Nothing ruined the entire stay, but it definitely took away from the peace and relaxation we were expecting during an already stressful moment in our lives. Overall, solid hotel with good basics and a convenient location, but management could do a better job enforcing quiet hours and keeping the environment more controlled. I'd still consider staying again, but with the expectation that weekends may get a bit chaotic. 4 stars.

The staff, especially Kenyatta and Maria, were kind and welcoming. My room was clean, the area felt safe, I had a hot shower, and the motel is about 15 minutes from MDW. I can see where they are trying to go, but it's not there. The place is in disrepair if you pay attention at all (cracks, holes, chipped paint), a crappy elevator, there's even random crap thrown in a corner still in view of guest. If you want to be taken seriously, then handle all the stuff no one sees that isn't sexy, rather than just putting lipstick on a pig. There's no consistent theme. It's like 5 different people walked through a 2nd hand store in a rush, with no other options, so each picked what they found in their scavenger hunt and then threw it all together. It's a big space. The staff was great and welcoming. Seriously, they were solid. The place is a 2 star, but staff is worth another star. It just felt like coming to visit my aunt who doesn't get a lot of visitors so she threw everything in a closet knowing guest are coming over. We all have to ignore the smell and everything else. The stuff on the walls makes sense to her as they are her memories, but there's no theme other than her history, so none of it makes sense to anyone else. It's just awkward. The reason this place isn't booming is 100% on the owner. They are trying to look bougie, while ignoring real issues, and clearly in way over their head attempting to do way too much with too little. They need to take a loan or get an investor and make this place amazing. It could be, but it's not. Then again, not sure if the place they dream of could survive in that area as the prices would need to double and the area may not be willing to pay. Potential investors may have said the same. I see the vision, but also see the reality, which just frustrated me as there was conflict around every corner. Also, the bar closes early at like 8 or 9pm. Additionally the upgraded rooms with "garden view" are anything but. The actual room is good. The detached building however looks like it was a nursing home that's never been changed or upgraded; at least on the outside and entrance. When you walk in the front door of said nursing home, it SMELLS like a nursing home. It was strong and not in a good way. When you are in your room and look outside at the "garden view", it's a crappy 1/2 wall that appears to have been designed and built as a favor by a drunk uncle who was in a rush. It's very small and insignificant. It's an eye sore, but the "garden" is actually just the back yard looking directly into a crappy middle class neighborhood of back yards. All in all, my "get away" upgraded experience felt more like a motel 6 with a $1,000,000 dream on a $500 budget.
