I have about 10 instances of this now with her and it is complete unprofessionalism, would never recommend.

They are very good at setting up estate planning, but lack in communication and understanding when dealing with the family after your loved one has passed. I wasn't expecting a warm and fuzzy relationship with the attorney, but some respect and decency would have been nice. If we are paying them $900 an hour I think that's not too much to ask. They were very nice at the first meeting, as this is where they hook you in. After that we were made to feel like a little kid and a bother every time we asked a question. She seemed very irritated every time we asked a question (which she charged for). When I voice my concerned at her frustration regarding our questions they dropped us and told us we were unprofessional. From my point of view if you can't take constructional criticism and learn from it then you don't belong in a profession where you deal with people. They should have apologized for making us feel that way and asked how they could make it better. They didn't, they just got an attitude. We learned the hard way that you don't have to use the attorney your loved one set it up with, you can use any attorney you want that deals in trusts and estate management. We have a new attorney now and they are great to work with. Open communication, very helpful and making us feel they have our best interest at heart. Never felt any of that at Cunningham Legal. Not only did they not help me, they put me in a worse position than I was before I hired them. They did not provide invoices or statements until after ten months of countless phone calls to his office requesting billing information. That is when I discovered Richard had depleted the escrow account of $3,400 and I had a balance owed of over $1,000. They did not do any work for me. They took zero responsibility for their wrongdoings, and they treated me as if I were a problem. My initial consultation with Richard Hall left me feeling hopeful and optimistic, but what followed was hours of unproductive conversation with an accountant he said he worked with closely that I would work with to resolve some tax issues. I made countless attempts to reach the gate kept Richard on the phone, and was told by the staff they would be personally meeting with him at specific times and would deliver the message. They would not transfer me to his voicemail, and when I asked for his email they said to send it to their email and they would forward it to Richard. So many red flags! This went on for several months, and with no progress to show. They blamed it on me, saying I had not provided the information needed. I have several messages from the accountant stating he had plenty to work with. This went on for almost a year, and I had yet to receive a single invoice, statement, or bill of any kind. I had been asking the accountant I had been speaking to for this information, and he said he "wasn't really submitting many hours.". I called the office repeatedly to request this information, and they weren't able to provide it, but said they would get back to me, which they did not. It wasn't until after literally 10 months of being told this that I called and demanded the admin who answers the phone, to access my file and tell me. Richard Hall had nickel and dimed the entire amount that was being held in an escrow account/retainer ($3,400), and I had an additional balance of over $1,000 that he stated I owed. FOR WHAT? When I expressed my confusion and frustration about this, I was told by the admin, "I'm hanging up. You can call back when you've calmed down.". I then received a contemptuous, accusatory, and belittling email from their accounting person, whom I had never once heard from prior. There was no resolution, and I was treated poorly. Richard stole from me- he's a scamming crook. I ended up in a worse position than I was before I hired him. My recommendation is to steer clear of him. It was a costly and frustrating waste of time, and I wish I had never contacted him.
