I've been on a few guided pig hunts, this one best by far. Great cabin, rustic enough, it's not a hotel, but clean and comfy. Was 27 the night we stayed, little gas fireplace on lowest setting kept us toasty. There is a tv with dvd player. There's a microwave and a swamp cooler for the summer months. We saw pigs, deer, turkeys and had coyotes singing around us. Three of us all tagged out in one day but we spent the night anyways.

Very honest and straight forward Hog hunting outfit. As stated 80-90% chance at a hog. I have been fortunate on the THREE occasions that I have hunted with Hogs Wild (150lbr, 250lbr and 180lbr). As Stated from the website, 80-90%, Im thinking more like 90%+. The hunting cabins are like summer "camp-esque" but they are "hunting cabins" bunk style beds easy to accommodate you and your friends up to 15 comfortably. The accommodations are as the site states don't expect a chocolate on your pillow when you arrive. The hunting cabins are warm when it's cold, dry if it rains and cool when it's hot. I had the pleasure of hunting with Jeremy, Gilbert, Pancho and Jimmy on different hunts throughout the three times I have been there. Their knowledge and experience is a great asset to the success of the hunter. The hunter just has to be "coachable." able to listen and be a half decent shot and that success percentage goes higher. They were seeing things I could have never seen without being told. Spotting pigs is what they do and that they do well. Tracking and seeing signs of pigs recent activity versus old, where they most likely will be. There is NO guarantee. IT'S HUNTING! go there with an open mind and your success will be higher. As stated on the website, there are several areas that they do hunt. The areas are diverse and challenging so being shape helps. The areas can be canyons and ravines, rolling mustard colored hills, flats, farm fields and shrubs and tree areas. Where ever the pigs are. Amazing views and amazing diversity of foliage, sights smells goes back to the theory of the hunt versus the harvest. We seen wild turkey, Elk, Blacktail deer and coyote. For me, just the ride around Pancho's was amazing. A great time for a lifetime memory. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Was there this past weekend. Thanks to guides: Preston, Joe, and Mathew. It is the second time I have hunted with Joe and we had a great time. No one works harder at getting you a shot than these boys. Would recommend HW for anyone who wants to get away, stay in a cabin in the woods, and hunt lots of great country. read more

Awesome place! This place is a blast. Whether you are a beginner or an expert Hunter. This mountain terrain, ranch is beautiful. I would recommend this to New Hunters because it is semi guided in a point you in the right direction. And experienced Hunter's because they will let you go on your own and do your thing. Really a great time here. read more

Wish it could be 1/4 star. Everything that happened to Peer N (see his review) happened to us. The afternoon we arrived they took my partner out and less than 300 yards from camp there was the RED pig in the road next to the pig pens. The told him to shoot. it was to close but he did as the guide told him (guide that evening was owners kid). My partner hit that pig at less than 30 yds with a 30/06 THEN he was told to shoot again blowing out the back side of the pig. Next morning tey had me shhot at a pig behind a fence at over 200 yds. I saw the hit but the would not let me go over the fence when they went out. They came back and reported a hit but no kill and we would drive around to look for it. an hour and a half late they gave up. I ask.. so now what? they again tomorrow? oops nooooo contract says a lost hit counts as your 650 dollar pig. (read the fine print) Peter was also right... Frak is a great guy... hes just doing his job.... the rest... well you enjoy read more

First of all. I want to give a shout out and props to Jimmy, Preston, Frankie, MCrae, Chase , Mateo, Joe, and Gilbert from Hogs Wild. These group of guys truly made this weekend one that I will never forget. This is my first year hunting at Hogs Wild and it definitely won't be my last. From the minute we got their, they made our group feel like family. Their professionalism and service is top notch. The living quarters for the weekend felt like I was staying at the Hilton hotel. The location was in a perfect spot and was truly a MANCATION. I was lucky and fortunate to hit my first pig on the second day with Jimmy who is an excellent guide and tracker who spotted my pig in the dark at almost 200 yards away.. WOW !!! I know there is no way I would be see a pig in the dark that far. This just shows you the level of experience Jimmy has. but even if I didn't hit a pig all weekend, the scenery and land that we surveyed was worth it alone. I truly recommend going to Hogs Wild for anybody wanting to hunt or just relax and get off the grid for the weekend and unwind with family or fiends. See you all next year and CANT WAIT !!! read more

Great ranch! This place has really good cabins for the hunters to stay over the weekend, they're well token care of and clean. The guides are extremely helpful and a great group of guys to be around. Haven't been here recently because they don't guide hunters during deer season, I thought it'd be good to mention this for anyone planning a trip. I did my research before booking and they have the best prices in this area. I noticed a bad review posted here with some false information, they took us through the whole ranch and not once did I see pens there. The guides always ask where you feel comfortable with your range before taking you out as well! read more

Let me start by saying that this was my personal experience hunting with this guide service. I called them up to book a hunt. I spoke to Jeremy ( who was very nice and polite every time we spoke) Jeremy informed me that they charged $650 for a fully guided rifle hunt that would last two days or shorter depending if you got a hog sooner of course . He also told me that there was a two hunter minimum. At the time I did not have any of my normal hunting buddy's that could make it so we agreed that he would have me arrive Saturday afternoon( between 2 and 3pm), I could hunt then and also Sunday. I'd then leave Sunday night. Fair enough I said. When I got there Saturday afternoon I showed up to a empty camp. Around 3:30pm my guide( Frank), his wife and his little brother, JD showed up. ( all 3 very nice once again) They showed me to my place I would be spending the night and I unpacked my stuff.( perfect accommodation for a hunter, no complaints there) 4pm we jumped into the jeep and we were off for the evening hunt. We drove about a hundred yards up a little dirt road. Stopped the jeep and started walking.(Frank said that we would hike a loop around and back to camp) No problem because I'm into walk and stalk hunting. Frank then says: "There was a nice reddish hog this morning they saw" We walked for about 10min and started glassing a area that looked to be about 3.5 acres big.( 3.5 acres surrounded by fence) Keep in mind....at this point I can still see my car parked at the hunting camp and also a couple ranch houses. They were really really close. I could also see....right on the other side of the fenced off 3.5 acres...a holding pen with a bunch of pigs. Big ones and small ones. So we keep walking for another 5min still glassing inside of this fenced off area. And yes folks, guess who shows up? The reddish hog that Frank mentioned at the start of the hunt, 45 min ago. We then made our way closer to the hog. I looked at it through my binoculars and thought. " please run away because I would love to hunt in a different area tomorrow" maybe at least a half mile away from camp even..... Got closer to the "pig" and Frank indicated to shoot it. (I could not just say no, he is the "guide" after all)The "pig" was about 30yards away, looking dead at us. It did not run...walk...just stood there sniffing around. Reluctantly I put my sight on it and pulled the trigger. There was no excitement for me. Frank and his little brother was excited for me but even I could see that they have done that act a few times. We drug the pig to the fence( I shot it right next to the fence). Lifted it over the fence and put it next to the road. At this point. We we're right next to the pen with all the pigs. I walked over after Frank walked down the road to the ranch house(400yards or so away) to get a truck. The pigs in the pen were super tame....they looked exactly like the reddish pig I had just shot. Frank's little brother JD was with me. He said this is where they breed "hogs". ??? Guys, I'm not a guy to write long stretched out reviews. But we all love to hunt and for this kind of price you would expect a real hunt. I wrote this to warn others that are considering hunting with this outfit. My "hunt" (I feel bad calling it that)lasted about a hour and 15min. I was surrounded by ranch houses the whole time. I honestly would have preferred hunting BLM land. Feel free to contact me with any questions. read more

OK, we took a chance after reading Doug S. review and we were glad we did. We hunt with wild hogs approx 30 days after Doug S. First of all, we didn't see any sign of a fire that had happened.. I think I'll stop there.............. We had a great and weekend. Jimmy and Gilbert were out guides. Jimmy is a CHP officer and guides in his free time. These guys worked there tails off. Friday afternoon we arrived. Got got the business side taken care of and went hunting in the rain and hail. 2 groups 2 guys per group. Our buddies group shot a 180 lb sow on Friday night while we hunted until dark on foot do to the weather. Saturday morning we hunted on foot because of the roads and traveled about 12 - 14 miles. My hunting parter shot a 300 lb bore at 10am. Jimmy foield dressed it for us a we walked back to get the ATV. when we got back to the cabins we took a nap while Jimmy quartered it out and took it to the walk in freezer. the lone hunter in the other group wounded a pig so he was done hunting although Gilbert did a good job helping him try to recover the wounded pig.. Saturday evening it was my turn. The roads had dried up so we hunted in a Jeep. we cover most of the 3500 acres.Just before the end of shoot time, we checked one more canyon. As we headed up another big 300 lbb Bore walked out of the brush at 150 yards. One shot with my 270WSM and the job was completed. 4 hunted 3 great pigs and all be back in two years.... Thank you to Jimmy and Gilbert for a great weekend. If any one questions this review, please feel free to message me.. Sorry Doug S, but your review just doesn't add up. read more

This is the third place in the last four years that I have tried hunting wild pigs. This was by far the best place and I will be coming back. The location of the cabins was really nice, off the grid so to speak and very quiet n relaxing. Jeremy is a very nice guy and up front and honest about how the hunting is (or isn't) going. Frank and his two sons were also amazing and great guides! Definitely good people and they work hard to get you on pigs. My hunt was successful as was two other hunters that weekend. I stayed in the non-luxurious cabin and found it to be pretty nice. Very spacious and warm (I think the temps were in the teens at night) and would have no problem staying in it next time. All in all, it was a great weekend and I will be going back. read more

Another great hunt at Hogs Wild. This time I wanted to take my son-in-law and two grandsons (ages 11 & 14) on an outdoor adventure. Basically being "city kids" I wanted them to see and experience the beautiful private ranch lands on a weekend hog hunt with grandpa. We met our guides at 6:15 am and drove 10 miles to a private ranch. Getting up early in the cold morning air and riding in an open jeep for several hours didn't seem to bother them much. Guides Preston and Macrae ensured that both of my hopes for the weekend were huge successes. Specifically.... ...For me, they located a nice hog on a hillside that Preston ranged at 265 yards. BANG! Meat for the freezer! Very unusual markings with the back half in solid black and a white front half with black circles around both eyes. We nicknamed this one the "Panda Pig." ...For my grandsons, Preston and Macrae went all out. They demonstrated how to cut and field gut the hog. Back at camp they showed the boys how to hang and butcher the carcass and let the boys even make a few cuts when separating the hide from the meat. Since this was their first time participating in a successful harvest of meat for our table, the boys "painted" a blood stripe across their cheeks to signify the success of filling our pig tag and joining the "hunting brotherhood". LOL The boys got to shoot my scoped .22 at some targets for the first time and enjoyed a great Tri-Tip dinner their dad grilled over seasoned oak. Finally, the grandsons observed many varieties of wildlife such as squirrels, rabbits, quail, doves, eagles, a coyote, turkeys, about two dozen does, about 15 bucks (including some really nice racks), and best of all a truly massive herd of elk up close along the highway. This was the largest elk heard that I've ever seen - maybe 200 individuals. Owner Jeremy and his guides have exceeded our expectations on two occasions. They spot pigs that I can't even see or don't know are there. The guides are very skilled and patient. Couldn't ask for a better group of guys to guide your hunt. My regular hunting buddies and I are booked and looking forward to next year. THIS FROM MY SON-IN-LAW: Preston and Macrae are impressive guides. Their ability to spot hogs at a distance with the naked eye is uncanny. They were also great with my boys. They took time teaching the boys how to cut and skin a pig in the field. They also showed the boys what to look for when tracking a wounded animal. It's a testament to their customer service that they spent extra time educating young, novice hunters. The weekend was a lot of fun, in part because of the experience Preston and Macrae provided. read more

This was my second year at Hogs Wild and has been nothing less than 5 stars both times. I really have to give props to everyone there Frank, Joe, Preston, Jimmy, Jeremy ( and anyone I missed) these guys help make this experience a good one. From the cabins to the views it is everything you would expect a hunting trip to be. I plan on coming here for a very long time or as long as they will let me. If you lucky enough to have a world famous Larry lunch it won't disappoint! Thank you to everyone at Hogs Wild!!! See ya next year! read more

Great people run the place, it's what you want to make of it. It can be a hard challenging hunt or you can be in and out within an hour. It depends on how you want to attack it. You can go as an experienced hunter, or it's a perfect place to get young kids, or older new hunters into the sport. Overall great experience with great people. read more
