Omg...they first took my disability case in September of 2024...I heard nothing for close to a year and then a guy called and asked a couple questions and told me they were close to getting an answer and id see something in mail. I called them back 4 months later after hearing nothing and was told my case was dropped because they couldn't get ahold of me by phone after trying many times. If you need a disability atty this is your firm, if you need a criminal atty run for the hills! I paid Nicholas Juliano 2.5K flat rate for a DUI and he accomplished absolutely nothing, max sentences on all charges and I spoke to him 1 time before my first court date. Then he left me high and dry leading into sentencing, I showed up when he said he would let me know whether or not we had court that day. Nobody from Hoglund showed up until the judge told me he's got everything he needs and I went on my way. This was a long road, I mean a very, very long road. This law firm was just not even close to what I needed. I needed professional people to guide me through an unfamiliar, and complicated process. What I got with this firm was mostly incompetence. They filed my appeals and got that right, but that's it. I had to learn everything on my own and figure out how to really advocate for myself. I filled out their online form for a Social Security Consultation. The form info apparently goes to a call center somewhere outside of their offices that called me 7 times in a day before I blocked the number. I tried calling the SSA number on their website and the "intake" for the free consultation was also in a call center asking me personal information like City of birth and Mother's maiden name. There is zero legitimate reason that a legal consultation should require the same details as a phishing scam, especially when it's not being done by an actual person in their office. read more

They are fraudulent and will scam you out of your money for misrepresenting and legal malpractice. They did nothing to help with my disability claim after I hired them to be my attorney. I conducted my own interview and got approved all on my own. SSI didn't have any knowledge of them being my legal representative because they sent the paperwork to SSI 2 wks after they were hired. They saw I got approved and sent an email wanting payment with doing bare minimum amount of work if any. I didn't hear anything from them about my claim until they wanted to collect payment. I have dates to prove they were a day late and a dollar short filing paperwork with SSI. I had a non medical review from SSI they said I can receive my Medical records they sent over to SSI again fraud. Nothing in my file provided they sent over anything to SSI They put a hold on my back payment due to their illegal fraudulent conduct. Stay far away from this law firm. I do not recommend this law firm! They are very unprofessional and the paralegal Lisa is very rude, when she does finally respond to my e-mail messages. After 16 month's of wasting my time, they call me after my appeal date is set and tell me that I shouldn't go through with my appeal date. I told them that I'm going forward with the hearing with our without them. Now they want me to write a letter to them saying that I have fired them as my lawyer. I never heard of anything so ridiculious! I mailed in tons of papers on my own to the social security office. Never did Jennifer Mrozik contact me or even a e-mail since I contacted them 16 month's ago. It takes weeks before I get any response from the paralegal with any information on my case. I first called this office in October of 2016, after my accident on April 17, 2016. I had been denied social security disability benefits and I needed an attorney to help me appeal my case. I only talked to an in-take person. I was assigned to a J. Mrozik. I lived right by their office. I tried several times to get an appointment in person with my attorney. That never happened. I never even spoke with her. Everything was done unprofessionally over the phone or e-mail. I was really skeptical the whole time. The whole process took 4 years. The first time I had a court date (video conference call, downtown Mpls, Mn), The Judge was a real bitch to me. She would not let me talk and neither would my "attorney" that I was assigned to, who was now a Robert Tadych, not J Mrozik. It was going along and I asked him about a certain Dr's letters, and other missing medical notes... the judge immediately stopped the hearing, reprimanded my attorney right there for not having all of my records there. She tells me that she is throwing it out for another 6 months until all the records are there, and Tells me to get another MRI done before then. Having a high deductible health plan and no job, I knew this was an expensive procedure, I just cried. Six months comes, another court date. She completely forgets why we had to do this additional court expense, like it was not my attorneys fault, but mine and she denies my case. So I gave up. What a hassle. It was already 3 years later. All of a sudden I get a notice from SSDI, that I refilled an appeal! I DID NOT FILE THIS!! The attorney without my permission just went ahead and filled for me. What a bunch of shit!! So I had to get all my stuff together again and start all over, because it would be another judge. The "court" was now over the phone, because of the COVID-19. This judge was very kind. He asked me questions, and listened to ME. He asked my husband questions, he used my husband's letter as well, because of my memory loss from the accident, and He approved it right there on the spot. I am disappointed with the lack of service I got. I wish I would have checked these reviews before using this firm. I just assumed by the number of adds they run they must be good. My claim was denied twice and each time I had to inform them of that. There was 0 representation by them about my condition. All they called me for was to try to get me to pay them 500 dollars to "see if they can cancel my student loan debt" so now here I sit with a knee that can't move due to my condition, and struggling to pay bills. I unfortunately hired hoglund law offices for my ssi case. Not only where they unprofessional in handling my case they gave me the wrong info about my case. I did not get a favorable response from the ssi dept. And hoglund law offices said it would be 6 WEEKS for them to review my case and decide what to do. And after 7 WEEKS (yes that's 49 days of the 60 days you have to file a appeal) they finally decided to drop me as a client. DO NOT TRUST THIS LAW FIRM. read more

Can't agree enough with all the others posting negative reviews here. Even in cases where this firm has been successful! They won & still got a 1 star review. Here are a few things I agree with: Unprofessional, rude, extremely difficult to contact or get a response from, an actual attorney only contacted me ONCE in over 2 years & it was the night before court he was not even in his office he was driving home, your case is passed between lawyer after lawyer, your case is passed between assistant after assistant, they are only in this for the money not the actual person, could have easily won my case with a little research, could have won by asking me questions and researching my answers, I SELECTED them based on their website, online reviews & commercials it simply proves you cannot believe what is on TV or online, never even contacted me by phone or even a simple email after they lost my case. Simply sent 2 or 3 letters with the last saying they did not feel they could be successful in court for me. THIS AFTER WAITING OVER 2 YEARS WITH THEM!!!! Like I said just a couple examples. I can answer the question why there seems to be a revolving door of employees here, with as much negative reviews online about them it has to be difficult to work & feel any pride in your employer. This place seemed wonderful. However in my bankruptcy claim we went through at least 4 lawyers because they kept leaving or I don't know what their policy is, trying to understand it is like trying to understand inception at the end of the movie; insane, dizzying, and a bit annoying. We had about 6-10 paralegals too, I got introduced to so many people I couldn't even keep track of if they were paralegals, lawyers, support staff, etc. 90% of the communication was over email, and most of the time if I called the office it required 3 calls to get one call back. We were also told by our lawyer that the assets we deducted were safe so we could use them towards whatever, and I ended up paying my dad rent and electric bills for two months at the end of March, beginning of April, so I was surprised when my assets that were deducted needed an itemized spending report to be done I think less than a week before our phone hearing with a trustee and not a judge. As soon as this company had the payment for bankruptcy and the court hearing fee, literally I felt completely worthless to them. They wanted to do the least amount possible, didn't update me of any case changes via email or phone, sometimes they did via snail mail about a month after I had called and already found out myself. I also feel like the work effort was about 96% us, and 4% the Hoglund Lawfirm. It is sincerely terrible. I actually applied there for social security too, and my case which I have a lawyer that's 17 trillion times better, according to Hoglund my case is too hard to win and therefore not worth it to them financially to pursue. This company screws people over, the treatment we were personally given should have resulted in a damn refund for crap service, and honestly if I were to compare it to a meal prepared incorrectly, it would be as if they had did the complete opposite of everything you asked, and then screwed you on the bill by making the cost of everything higher. Our low income family had to pay out because apparently no one pays a relative for rent and utilities and I was fraudulently trying to hide the money that was in our like asset deductions, supposedly safe from the bankruptcy court, and you know what the lawyers said to try and help my family dispute this? Not a damn thing. I came up with everything myself and out of the 1400 I sent him for the 500 rent, and 200 utilities for March and April, we had to pay the court 1200 of the deducted assets to the court. PS. We filed and had the hearing in May 2021. I'm still dealing with the trustee who thinks I'm hiding money somewhere while waiting for our federal tax returns to come in so this nightmare can end. I am also being told by Hoglund that if I don't send them the things I sent twice now that I will pretty much have to deal with the trustee who has called me more to check in in the last year than my own lawyers have. TLDR - Run for your life, stay away from this lawyer office because I didn't just have a bad experience, I've had 2 full years of bad experience now. read more

Since day one I have had nothing but issues with our 1st Attorney, and the 5-6 now that took over my case (they seem to all leave) after my Divorce it just got stupid messy. Typical take your money don't care about you after Attorneys. I have had to do 70% of work on my case, make numerous trips, calls e mails to correct their errors. They make a bad situation worse my advice would be to keep looking. I know Attorney jokes talk about them not caring however they are true with these guys, I have paid them over 4K and they still act as if I am bothering them when I follow up on the issues they screwed up on, or a status on my case since they are worried about getting new clients to write checks, not about the old clients or there cases. read more

I was almost a 100% satisfied. Just not a fan of how hard it was to get the second required bankruptcy class scheduled because it was only done on certain days through the law office. I would've rather done it on my own and sent the quiz in. I read the whole booklet and did the test before the conference call so it was just re-reading and answering questions I already answered. The directions letter tells you to read it and document the time you spent reading it. It doesn't make sense to do this if you are going to do it through the conference call. read more

Don't go here. My lawyer did not contact me before my hearing. Then they told me to go to the hearing one hour prior to the hearing, which I did, but he told me nothing. I was not prepared. Then when I needed to appeal, they dropped me. They wrote me that they dropped me and in a very short letter stated 5 times they dropped me like I was stupid. They need to be human, they have no compassion and no heart. They don't care about you. They should have finish my claim until the end, just left me hanging in the wind, with no hope. They advertise that they are "the largest SSDI law office in MN." Maybe true. But their business model is simply based on numbers, not quality of services. They advertise that you will meet in your home with an attorney. I was with them for a year and this was never offered. In fact, they did not allow me to even talk with an attorney! Their business model is to wait as long of possible to actually take action on your case, as the longer it takes, the more money they earn. Because of economy, I needed more "credits" paid into SS within the last 10 years, Got awarded SSI immediately at $745 net, add that to my $15 food stamps and who can live off that?! I received an award letter from SS before I even got a check. Two months later, my lawyer sent me their office version of an award letter....TWO MONTHS LATER! Come to think of it, my lawyer NEVER once spoke to me, ever! So, you can understand my confusion, since I had to file my own SSDI appeal, I thought I won said appeal and SS contacted my lawyer on file. Nope, denied SSDI, which is at least a little more $ a month. When I requested an appeal and BEGGED for help, for an extra look; Compassion Benefits or just someone to put in some extra work. My "Case Manager", not lawyer, stated Hoglund Law WON'T do anything more, but yes they COULD do more, but why bother, that I'd probably get denied. Of course, I was reminded of how rare my cancer is, and that yes, I am definitely found to be disabled, of how much he understands of how I feel...and what really put me over the edge is that the case worker reminded me of how much time I probably had left!! Don't even consider this place. You meet with one lawyer, and you'll likely never see him/her after the 1st or 2nd visit. They have so many turn overs with staff, you will have several people trying to get a hold of you for necessary documents or additional information. During my hearing for bankruptcy I met with a different attorney who was unfriendly, lacked people skills, and was frankly rude. Then to top it off with whip cream a paralegal called me. She talks over me and threatens that I have to agree to 6 months to pay off the trustee for my non exempt assets. When I voiced I could not pay the monthly quoted sum, she stated "Well I could ask for 8 months, but I can already tell you that they won't do it. If that's too much you could turn over your iPhone, piano..." WOW. Bravo Hoglund & Law! Kick them when they're already down.
