My family found Dr. Hogan to be a good doctor in her thoroughness, expertise and demeanor throughout her care for my son. However, when we needed her office staff to complete an authorization for our school's nurse to administer a med previously prescribed by Dr. Hogan, we learned that their policy forbade it, despite our son being put at-risk if the med could not be administered. They clearly displayed a concern for liability taking precedent over ensuring the well-being of our son. In this multi-day dealing, the head nurse and office manager were intractable, disrespectful and at moments, downright rude. The head nurse even hung up on my wife in the middle of a phone conversation. Once we reached the end of this very disagreeable set of interactions, we called my son's pediatrician and he and his office had a new prescription to us and an authorization completed and sent to the school nurse in less than 24 hours. We are firing this doctor, will seek out a new one and will be sure and encourage anyone that we come across who needs an allergist to look elsewhere. read more
