Be warned, there are quite a number of stairs to climb and no elevator, but it is not too onerous, and if you have a Fitbit, it will help your stair count considerably! My wife, two daughters (8 and 10), handled the stairs without a problem. When we arrived at the top, we found very nice views of the city and met a number of nice people willing to take pictures of us. It is a bit cramped up at the top, so people need to be friendly and patient with one another. The entire visit does not take very long, so it is a nice thing to do just to get one's bearing on the town and its surroundings. Definitely worth doing.

I arrived on a Sunday. Little did I know, everything's closed on Sundays. After checking into the hotel, my husband and I walked straight over to the cable car only to see that it was closed for maintenance. The Innsbruck cable car takes you from the city center to the top of the Nordkette mountain for spectacular views. Since it was closed, there was no one to ask if there were other ways up...it was a bit of a let down, so we just walked back to town and had lunch.

The entry price gives you access to walk around inside the ski jump area, which has various boards describing the history of the jump, how features work during competition, and prominent athletes. You can either walk up the stairs to get to the top of the jump, or alternatively there is an accessible cable-driven platform which runs to the top (from which there is then stairs or an internal lift to get up to the lookout or restaurant area). There are great views of the city from the top. The restaurant also serves food and beverages at a reasonable price and quality. Recommend walking down the stairs after your visit to experience the atmosphere of different aspects at this sporting facility. Worth a visit!

Currently under massive renovation. According to The guidebook they didn't use to charge for…read moreadmission but now they charge a 10 euro donation for the renovation. Inside is completely filled with scaffolding. The only worthwhile feature is that since the scaffolding is built all the way up to the ceiling this is your chance to see some of the murals on the ceiling really close. But you can't see a lot as you are only allowed to go up the one narrow central staircase and can't walk around on the planks which are only for the workmen. Better wait till the reno is finished by the end of the year, otherwise it's not really worth the 10 euros to just see the scaffolding and a very small part of the frescos. The rating is for the condition it is in right now. No doubt it'll be great when the renovation is finished.
