After second time through.
Michael C.

Have held on for a long time due to their previous policy of making it right no matter what. As of last week it appears their attitudes to the customer have taken a down turn. My vehicle never once comes out clean, not just after one wash but even after two. So in order for me to get good service it's a game every time. I pull up, I tell them; "you have to spray the wheel wells very well." "Ok, will do." Once through. Go back. "Ok we'll get it the second time." Go through. Guess what! Never mind don't you already know with out guessing. Ok so now I've been here for 20-30 mins (Everytime.) Go back around. Hey guys look still no good. Ok free credit. Makes me happy enough. But then when using the credit next time---two wash game and no results. So here I am destroying my paint, getting swirl marks and leaving with a dirty Jeep. Every time-did I mention that. Now last week I get the news, no more credit just have to keep going through until it's clean. Ok, but what about when there's 10+ cars or the hand sprayer guy still doesn't even bend over enough to even come close to getting in above the wheels inside the wells. (ET) It could be 20 wash's. Not to mention my paints already destroyed just from two summers of this treatment. It's a car wash not an almost car wash. Worst part is, I have no alternative. At this point I would make wishes that Hoffman's get there act together, blah blah blah. But that's not gonna happen. So I just wish we would get another car wash giant not worried about getting the cars through as fast as possible leaving many unhappy customers muttering under their breathes forced to return anyway. Two stars for the past treatment in hopes of returning to customer first mentality.

Hoffman completely rebuilt the old Raindancer car wash into a state of the art new facility which…read moreopened in late 2025. Unfortunately, they no longer have the self service bays, but now offer free vacuums which is a big plus. When they opened the new facility, they were giving away free car washes for a couple of days and had some special on their Unlimited Car Wash Plan which included additional free car washes after the plan expired. I signed up for the plan, the attendant put a bar code on my windshield and I used the car wash during the winter. Overall, the car wash did an excellent job when first opened. And when first opened a lot of colored lights would begin flashing as the vehicle passed through the various stages of the wash. The final time I used the car wash fewer lights were flashing and for the first time an attendant used a hose to spray down the front of my car. It's uncertain whether the car wash was now providing all the features included in the paid for plan. There are two lanes vehicles use which scan plan bar codes which then merge into one lane while making a sharp left hand turn to enter the wash. Twice I almost got into an accident because a vehicle couldn't make the turn and had to backup as the lanes merged causing a near miss. The exit from the car wash is tricky and causes confusion. There is a yellow light and a small sign which states to wait for the green light. The yellow light may be on or off and green light seems to go on at random times. While waiting for the green light the vehicle may not be moving forward because the plastic track which propels the vehicle is now only on the rear wheels and can begin to slip. Many times I had to drive away and not wait for the green light. Finally, the vacuums work well.

Haven't tried the actual car wash yet but very happy with the self service vacuum. Note they only…read moreaccept quarters in these machines but for $2 in quarters you get a generous allotment of time to vacuum and the vacuum is quite powerful. Totally took care of the random stones and sand in my front seats. They have mat clips and a trash can too which is appreciated. I'll probably return for a car wash later.

I ran my debit card to be able to wash the Salt out of my matts. I ran the self serve spraying wash…read morebay option. I only ran the sprayer for 9 minutes and change. They originally charged my card $12, so I thought they would adjust after and the amount would decrease. This was not the case!! The final charge was $22.60 for under 10 minutes of spraying water in the freezing cold. What a rip off!! I'm not cheap, that is crazy expensive and the math from hard money to card payment isn't aligned.

This review is just for the self-serve bays…read more I'm old school; I'm happy washing my car in a pay-as you-go bay where I'm in control of how much time I need and how much soap and rinse I want to use. I'm glad Colonial has a couple of these bays, but using them isn't quite as customer friendly as I had hoped, especially as a first time user. These bays do not have bill readers. They take credit cards, but you don't exactly get to select how much time you want. Instead, the screen will show increasing time/cost, and you have to remember to QUICKLY press the stop button when you think you've got enough... meaning I need to know in advance how much time and money? They're probably hoping you err on the side of caution and overpay. They also take coins, but only quarters and $1 coins. When was the last time you had $1 coins on you? (NOTE: You can probably get $1 coins and quarters at a coin dispenser on site.) I had a bunch of quarters all set though. It's 25 cents per 15 seconds, minimum of 8 quarters/$2.00. But you either need to have your hand on that spray nozzle or have a 2nd person handy, because as soon as you start adding coins, the countdown begins, which means I lost about 10 seconds getting quarters #2 through #8 in. There's also a time lag between when you switch from soap to rinse, which means you may want to switch to rinse maybe 10-15 seconds before you actually want the soap to stop. Having the ability to put all the coins in and then press "START" would be handy, like some other self-serve car washes I've used in the past. I did get my car clean, and I'll have a better idea how to handle this on future visits. It wasn't a bad experience, just not as good as similar service I've had elsewhere.
