HOTEL REVIEW Hotel is centrally located in Gjovik and has a…read moreswanky vibe. Had high hopes for this one based on exterior/lobby deco. There is a movie theater inside. Rooms: Sadly lacked consistency. Non ironing board, no places to put things in bathroom. Exceeding small sink caused water overflow. No partition between toilet and shower caused flood. Power outlets not near bed. Staff: Hotel reception staff were friendly and efficient, but could not make up for all the flaws. Hotel reception staff and location are the only reason this hotel gets 2 stars instead of 1 star. PI RESTAURANT REVIEW Came here for a 3-course meal with a large group. 10:00pm reservations with no options (pre-set meal), but food did not start arriving until 10:30pm. Each course arrived about 20-30 minutes later. Food: 1 star. Completely tasteless and bland. There was no salt/pepper at the table at they were not provided on request. Also very small portions. Bread was good but desperately needed butter. Staff insisted that butter was not available. Service: 1 star but wish I could give negative stars. Staff had a terrible temper and attitude. Wanted more bread and one person in our group motioned for the waiter and requested more bread. The waiter (blond hair, fair-skinned male) said "I'm not your dog" as a response. Unacceptable. Bottom Line: This "Quality hotel" lacks quality. 2 star hotel, 1 star restaurant. May be a tolerable place to stay, but eat elsewhere

Room was cozy and bedding comfortable. Walls are thin and was fortunate there were few other guests. Some one else may have better luck than I did in how to operate TV. Free Wifi was available. Hotel restaurant was pricey. Fish & chips was $30 with 10% discount for reward members. Dish included breaded cod, small green lettuce with peas and less than crispy potatoe fries. Served less than 5 minutes after ordering. It was A-OK. As stated often, the hotel is directly across the street from airport, like a 2 or 3 minute easy walk. Very convenient for early flights. Would book again.

One reaches the hotel by exiting the arrivals level near baggage claim 21, crossing the street, and walking down a short covered walkway. If you are arriving by train, the hotel is connected to the train station on the opposite side via a short driveway. Our adjoining rooms on the second floor overlooked the main terminal. I couldn't do any plane spotting from here, though. But just as lovely, I couldn't hear any aircraft either. The room was modern and comfortable. I would have liked a heated bathroom floor, though, like every other Norwegian hotel we stayed at on this trip. The included breakfast was excellent. I had the best scrambled eggs here at this buffet on our trip. We took the train down to Oslo for dinner and last-minute shopping. Since we had no luggage, we tried the regional train instead of the express for half the cost. It's well worth it and takes only slightly longer. When exiting the train at the airport station, walk in the opposite direction from everyone else for the quickest way back to the hotel.
