I spent 6 years of my life going to this University and looking back, I really have mixed memories…read more I do miss a lot of things from this place. Of course the city, my friends, coffee time in Campus Cafe, campus parties and some classes were even a little fun.
This University has a very impressive library with over 5 million books. It used to be open 24 hours but if I remember right they changed the hours to 11 or 12pm on weekends to save money. One year before I graduated they changed all printers and copy machines to brand new ones and really upgraded a lot of things.
Most degrees have been upgraded as well since I left and they have added some new bachelor and master degrees in english. They have German as well as some international professors.
My best memories are from the Mathematics Department. The staff (Frau Cassola and Herr Janssen) were always very helpful and had an ear open for any problems I had. The staff in the economics department was sometimes over stressed, so I thought. Also, the professors there aren't so much down to earth and very unapproachable. I never felt like there is any help or sense of sympathy there. All they cared about was performance and maybe I wished to have a little bit of an open ear for what every student has to deal with every day.
All in all I do recommend this University to anyone. Especially the location and the beautiful city of Konstanz make this place very unique and attractive.
