Love this place. Have been going to it and ordering from for years. Lobster tacos are always filled with tons of fresh meat. Also love their fish and shrimp tacos. The Bobo burrito is fun when I want something different. I can go on and on, have never had a bad meal here. I remember during the height of the pandemic I ordered a bunch of food and the order was somehow forgotten. This place is awesome! They have a great outdoor area and the inside has a laid back atmosphere. I've had most of their tacos and all were delicious. Margaritas are great as well. The bartenders and servers have been great each time I've been there. Only the hostesses have been less then welcoming. It's not Taco Bell, so yes prices are not cheap. read more

I've been a customer at both their Bay Ridge and Staten Island locations for OVER 6 years. Recently, I had a serious issue with a delivery. I was told it would be a 30 to 40 minute wait. I was fine with that. BOTH ITEMS I ORDERED WERE COLD, so no cooking involved. After over an hour and 15 minutes I called, and was told the driver left 10 minutes ago and would be to me shortly. About 20 minutes later I called and was told he was "stuck in traffic". Another 20 minutes I called same story. Over 2 hours for two cold items to be delivered, I live about 15- 20 minutes away. When the order finally got here, the drink was no longer frozen, and the salad was missing avocado, WHICH I PAID FOR. The order I placed was OVER 45.00, and I had left tip. When I called to complain, they said the next time I ordered, they would comp me the items that were damaged, or I didn't receive. They did do that on my next order. But when I attempted to order today they refused to deliver. I am disabled (and they are aware of that). I spent $100.00s of dollars a month with this business. I had a LEGITIMATE complaint. I don't normally dine out in Staten Island, but when I do, it's good! Came here with the family. We sat outdoors where the vibe was very laid-back. I had the Diablo Diego Surf Taco and the Tequila Lime Shrimp. The taco was excellent with a ton of different flavors, and we all liked the Tequila Lime Shrimp. We also ordered Churros for dessert. My go to happy hour spot, the tacos are seasoned perfectly, they are generous in quantity and the flavor combinations are great. This is not a Mexican taco these are Californian surfer style tacos so don't go with the expectation of traditional tacos. The happy hour is only at the car but lasts from 3-7 and the tacos are 2$ and 3$ each. The drinks area about 4/5$ for anything from beer to margaritas to sangria. The churros are delicious and large enough to share for two people. The brownie is out of this world and underrated and they don't promote it enough as a dessert. My go to meal is usually a classic Cali taco a sunset pork taco, a mango margarita on the rocks w a chipotle lime rim(very similar to the spicy mangos slices you would find in the city) and an order of churros. read more

The only complaint about Ho'Brah is that I had to drive across Staten Island to get there, however with there new location opening soon on the South Shore I will be within minutes of this spot. I am a big fan of Adobe Blues, so this spot was going to have to blow my mind for me to put them in the same category as Adobe. Well they did just that. The service was great. We were a party of 8, so the hostess said it might be a bit. We went to the bar and within about 15 mins we had our table. Our waitress was very accommodating and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. I had the Jaybay salad with shrimp to start. The dressing was the best. A lime taste to go with the perfectly cooked shrimp. I followed it up with the naked mission bay with fish. Wow just wow. The fish was flaky and seasoned. The guacamole was up there with one of the best I have had. Really expensive for a taco restaurant on Staten Island, especially when Burrito Bar is a stone throw away and much more affordable, as elk as a lot of other Mexican restaurants on the island. The prices per tacos are not worth what you get. $5-6 for a small tortilla with just a handful of meat and a lot of lettuce? Not worth it. The service is good, attendants were very attentive to the needs of the table and are quick. The outdoor seating is also very nice, but the prices and amount you get for that price, you're better off going to another place on the island and get twice as much for that price. read more

It's a fun place to hang out. Would I say they have the best tacos and guac? Probably not. But they still pretty darn good. And Baja street corn is incredible. And drinks are cold and refreshing. It is something neighborhood needed for long time - so there is no surprise they are always busy. The atmosphere and setup cannot be beat if you looking to spend fun afternoon with friends laughing and drinking and eating. Bar is pretty big, and located by the open windows - they are on 2nd floor - so it's nice to sit there to catch a breeze, watch cars go by on Forest and just relax. I been to their Brooklyn restaurants, and it is very similar - same vibe, similar menu. Let see how they grow in new neighborhood - so far, good start! read more

This has become our go to spot after Staten island zoo....been here twice now and enjoyed the food both times. California style hipstery surfer stlye mexican, so not really traditional mexican but good non the less. Nice atmosphere inside and service is good. I've passed by this place a few times and everytime, I'd say "I gotta check that place out". Well, I finally did and I gotta be honest, it wasn't that special. All the hoopla of it being a new restaurant on the island had me more hype than I should have been. Don't get me wrong, the servers were polite and attentive, and the Hawaiian-Mexican ambiance gave off a chill, relaxing vibe but the food was mediocre at best. The menu offered a good amount of items but nothing really appealed to me so I settled on shrimp Diablo nachos. The amount was a good size portion, but the food itself was nothing to rave about, the guac was really good though. They didn't offer any desserts which was a bit of a disappointment to me because to be honest that's my favorite part of any meal whenever I dine out. I'm not sure if the other chains offer desserts but if they decide to add some to the menu in the near future, I'd be willing to try them. Not a place I'd go to for the entrees but maybe I'll stop by again for a few drinks and more guac and chips. read more

Wanted to like this place but the tacos were horrible. Had the Korean bbq, classic fish and the other grilled fish taco on the menu. The grilled fish taco I spit out because it was so disgusting, the Korean bbq was disgusting and the classic fish was the best out the three. Staff was ok but not very attentive. There were only about 5 or 6 tables so idk why they suck so bad. The margaritas were decent. I would never go to this place again and I also don't recommend anyone to eat here. You would think that they would up their service and quality to keep people coming back during these times. read more

I've been to both, with equal enjoyment. Great atmosphere, excellent service and the food is absolutely delicious and fresh. I love empanadas but not the shrimp type, let me tell you I tried the shrimp and I am a changed man. Their shrimp empanadas are my new favorite. These little pockets of heaven were awesome, I couldn't wait to get back there and have them again. The taco's were great, and a good prelude to the burrito Bowl which I really enjoyed. This seems like a nice addition to the Forest Avenue scene.. but it really is fast food at expensive prices. I went there with my son who as a teenager likes to eat so we ordered a lot and spent $100 for 2 people. Server said want "quac and NACHOS?" of course my son said yes to $10 chips and convinced himself he needed $13 spl french fries. OK.. the beers seems like $6 for 8oz and the mole burrito was made hours earlier and consisted of 85% rice and beans and a tiny streak of tasteless chicken paste. Empanada was frozen in a bag and deep fried. Son wolfed down his taco, his burrito and 1/2 the fries so I guess it was a success...
