Booze in the aisles and refrigerated beers along the back wall. The counter dude with a friendly look and hello sizing you up. It's a small town and new faces stick out. I guess I passed as he rung me up with a little friendly banter. Cash and change were exchanged. I had my friend for the night tucked under my arm and we were off to see what was off in the darkness.
