Well, after assembling, disassembling, and reassembling it 8 times for moving, the move to Georgia was too much for it. And, the tube threads were stripped. Taking to the only lamp repair place within 30 miles didn't help due to the type of male threads (bushing vs bolt). And, even ordering one from Amazon didn't work, as the side globes didn't seat properly. So, for sure, I thought I'd be getting rid of the entire lamp. But, I kept the shades, and hoped that one day, I'd find a suitable replacement. And, yesterday morning, I did! Yay!While this floor lamp isn't identical to mine, it did suit my needs. Especially, since it'll be put in a corner, the single side bulb is probably a better bet. Even though the lady from yesterday wasn't working, the lady today was just as nice. And, very helpful, as she held the lamp While I unscrewed the original shade holder. After checking to see that the top shade fit (see picture; the shades are from my lamp), I bought it. Worst store ever, The manager was extremely rude and they robbed us of our money. One thing is for certain, this store ain't the same Badcock Home furnishings that I grew up with…read morewhen I lived in Florida ('65-'86). They now carry grills, smokers and lawn mowers (seriously, if I wanted this, I'd go to Western Auto (no longer in business, or Lowe's). On the phone, they were very helpful in answering my questions. So, after a bit of shopping, I stopped by this morning, to see about getting new Counter Table and Chairs, Home Entertainment Center, either a 50" or 55" HDTV, Microwave Hutch, a Desk and a 3-piece table set for the Living Room for my new place that I'm moving into on 9/24. Well, not only was I not greeted at the door (2 customers were walking out, and that made me the only customer in the store; and only after crisscrossing the store looking around, and stopping at the desk at the back of the store, and actually asking to see stuff, did a Sales Associate step up), they don't have everything in-store that the website shows. Nor, was I told this on the phone. They only had one desk. And, it was more of a Work Station than a Desk, as there wasn't any drawers. The Counter Table and Chairs that I was interested in was not available in the store to see. And, in checking another Counter Table, one of the chairs wobbled pretty bad (I know Quality has dropped. But, I do hope this was a fluke, and not something worse). The Home Entertainment Center was not complete (only the pedestal was out; the side columns, above TV self and top cross-member was not available). They had several T.V.s. So, I gotta decide on which one I really want. They only had Butcher Blocks, and not true Microwave Hutches. And, the selection of tables for the Living room wasn't that great. Mainly dark finishes, and the tops looked liked planking put side by side, or patterned. Finally, to top off this less than stellar visit, when filling out the Electronic Store Credit Application, the error message, No Report Found came up. So, I went to the Associate (who went back to the service desk), and told her what happened. So, I had to tell her my name for her to pull it up on the computer. Then, she called someone, and they told me to use the other Application Kiosk. Now, it is possible that the error occurred because I used my new address, instead of my current one. But, seriously, since credit is checked by SSN, why would it matter? So, rather than going through that again, I decided to go back later, and put it on a credit card (just want to be sure that I don't have to pay it until November). When I go back, I'll update the review.

I bought a LaZyBoy recliner from Badcock in Milledgeville. The footrest was broken just a couple…read moreof months later. When the chair was at Badcock for repair, I received a call saying the repairman couldn't find anything wrong with the chair. I said, "Wow. How can he miss it? The footrest hangs down on one side when it's raised". The chair was returned to me still broken. I was told that I voided the warranty because I had made the comment to the manager that I liked to sleep in the chair. The warranty was voided because the "chair is not made for sleeping". So now I'm paying for a broken recliner because Badcock won't work with me about the problem.

Yesterday, my adoptive daughter and I went shopping (me, for a new recliner; her for a new stove,…read morewasher and dryer). And, after stopping by 3 different places (Sale prices {$399 to $1,499} were all over the place), we hit here on our last stop. And, I finally found a recliner that I liked, and was within my acceptable price range. The store was nice, and clean. And, the 2 Sales people (a man, and a woman) were friendly, professional and helpful. I had them go with Kristen to look at appliances, as I still hadn't decided on a recliner (either too uncomfortable. Or, beyond the price that I was willing to pay). Once I found a recliner that I liked, I went over to the appliance section. After waiting a couple of minutes, the lady turned to me. I told her that I found one that I like. After excusing herself, we walked back to the other side of the store, and I pointed out the recliner that I wanted. We drew up the paperwork, and I was able to get next day delivery ($25) set-up ($25)! 8-) The other places were, $99 and $120 (eek!) However, the recliner of my choice only had 2 color selections. So, this may be an issue for some people. But, for me, the color works well for my place. Unfortunately, all 3 places won't remove the old furniture. So, I have to get someone to pick up the old one.

So I look and I have a 10% off and a $50 off "qualifying" clothing. So I show her my 50% off and she says, "It only works for online". I show her where it doesn't say that. She asks for the $10 off coupon, and it has meanwhile disappeared from my phone. I ask her if it might be in my email, and she says, "Yes...in 2-3 days". I control my voice and ask if she could help me find it. "I don't have all day, I have other customers". So I take my purchases, and she actually asks me for my email. It didn't work the first time, so why would I give it now? I shop about once a year at Belk's because they have no cashiers or help. Looks like the bankruptcy in 2021 didn't help them improve.
