The Hobart Rivulet is a short but historically and culturally significant urban stream running from kunanyi / Mount Wellington through South Hobart and beneath the Hobart CBD, before emptying into the River Derwent. It's one of the key natural features that determined why Hobart was founded where it is.
Gayle and I say part of the Rivulet from our Hotel room in front of the Hospital. It is also believed that Platypuses live in the Rivulet but attempts to find the elusive critter were unsuccessful. And there were more scenic views of the Rivulet than the concrete channel that we first observed. read more
