Big store with a big range but not many bargains to be found. Good for a browse while the missus shops till she drops.

HMV, in my personal opinion, is the second best record store in Colchester town centre. Like Zavvi, it has a broad variety of CDs, DVDs, games and books, along with helpful staff and a good layout. Also like Zavvi, HMV is very accessible, with a central location. In all honesty, it boils down to one issue queues. In Zavvi, there are around two or three tills open at a time, and I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. In HMV however, the queue is usually massive, leading to a long time spent waiting. Therefore, three out of five stars. read more

HMV is a very good store for anything to do with music films and games they even stock t shirts of your favourite band! Always special offers on like 3 dvd's for £20 or 2 cd's for £10 so always worth looking in there first read more
