An excellent store, with much more than just DVDs and music. You can buy tshrts, books, games, vinyl for DJs and much more. Always a good offer on right inside the door too! The place is always ram packed, but the staff are friendly. Lots of them are students who are heavily into the music scene, and you get the idea that they know what their products are a lot more than in some other shops. I've never taken an item back that I have bought, so I don't know what the refund situation is like, but if it's anything like the rest of the experience you'll have, it's probably fine. I've bought a good few things here, and never had a problem with quality or durability, so I think that should speak for itself. read more

HMV in Plymouth city centre is situated in the middle of town, so is usually very busy especially on a Saturday, which is obviously the main shopping day. I find that the shop caters for everything you need! The staff are very helpful, always asking what you are looking for and will try and help you find it electronically if they cannot find it for you. I find the store spacious and easy to get around, also caters for wheelchairs, although no upstairs access, that I know of. I think the downside to this place is that it is more pricey than other places, so I tend not to go here, which is a shame. read more

Love this store, easily one of the best chain music stores. Great offers to be had all the time and they usually do amazing sales. Always worth a browse for a bargain. Stock a wide range of items from cd's, dvd's to games and iPod's. Student discount can be had here (10%)but you will need to fill in a form to get a hmv student card. This will need to be renewed every student year (starting in september). read more

HMV is one of the best 'chain music stores' in Plymouth. It offers a wide range of music tastes and in formats of both vinyl and cd. The staff appear both knowledgeable and friendly. The returns policy here is good, I taken back a few cd's (unwanted presents mainly) and they have done so with no questions asked. There are great selections of world music, old bands as well as the modern chart music. The layout can seem a bit hectic but you'll find what you want to eventually. I would definitely go here instead of Zavvi. Try it out and see what you can buy. read more

Friendly and helpful staff. This is quite a big HMV set over 2 floors so a big selection of games, cds and dvds.

Biggish branch but a hopeless selection of anything other than popular music and DVDs. Why don't hey stock more Blu Ray films.
