They were here for nearly two weeks in 1933, resting and planning. It ended in a violent shootout where two police officers were killed. In the quick escape, the crime due left behind personal belongings, including a camera with undeveloped film that later provided iconic images of Bonnie and Clyde. The apartment was built around 1927 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Yes, it's a real place and real people live here so be respectful of the private property. This is an AMAZING "old school" Courthouse with lovely ornate block work…read more Inside are a few offices and a treasure trove of historic artifacts; a harbor mine, bell, photos, geodes and Route 66 memorabilia. I read in several books that this particular courthouse is one of the most photographed in the USA, understandably so since it is so lovely.

I'm sure these things are fascinating to someone from a different country or a big city who never seen these thing's, but any "Midwestern" person would not be amused.

Also, if you are a person who has always felt a little creeped out by Precious Moments figurines, you probably will also be filled with amazement. Highly recommended this site for anyone who has feelings of any kind about Precious Moments. A little hard to find. Free (donations accepted). There is a gift shop - it was closed for inventory when we went, so that saved us money, I'm sure. The young ladies who were in the chapel to welcome us were so, so nice. The performance was awesome(Greater Tuna) and as far as the size of the place....it seats 80 to 100 I'd guess, which is perfect size. I ended up buying season tickets. So in the future, I'll take others reviews as just that...their opinions. This place was a wonderful visit. I'm from Iowa and have season tickets to ACTORS theater in Ames Iowa and have had Des Moines Playhouse season tickets.
