Few helpful tips, we went middle of June and there were soooooo many mosquitoes idk if I just want thinking, or they just tend to eat me alive in the evenings only but bring lots of bug spray. There's 2 cars that have windows and 2 that don't so if it's a full ride be prepared dress appropriately depending on the time of year u visit. Like I mentioned earlier these are all volunteers, they make their clothing and provide their own weapons and blanks. The upkeep of the train and tracks is very costly so donations are very appropriate. Be sure to bring plenty of smaller bills and most of the town would prefer cash purchases as well. There's also a flea market held here so check for that. There's also mining for Gold lessons and some areas to try it first hand. If you find real Gold flakes you can keep up to 3 for 5$ per person because it's coming from an Oregon State Park. There is a lift on the train to help with any handicap needs, and on that note if you end up in Bakers City, OR (were we drove through to get here) is an amazing playground where inclusion of all ability types was number 1 in design. This entire experience was so great, worth Every penny for the steam engine ticket and worth the money we donated at the end.

I take my family to the drive in as often as we can afford. Before the price went up from just…read morepaying for the car to paying a flat rate than extra for every person over the count of 5, we go as a large group with other family members and sometimes the kids bring a friend so we easily go over 6 people sometimes, we would go every weekend. Since the price change we go maybe once or twice a summer. The restrooms are nice to have and there is a line when the first movie ends, so be quick if you don't want to stand in line. We love to go as a family to experiance the movie in an relaxed and comfortable setting that we get from our truck bed made up with bedding and such, there are times the younger kids fall asleep before the end of the first movie, and would be heart broaken if we could no longer go do this great family activity. We love this part of La Grande and enjoy it very much.

It was lean, no marbling, no connective tissue, no sweet buttery flavor, just some cheap cut that they pass off as a NY Strip. If traveling through, I would avoid this place at all costs. The City Of Fruitland…read more.... Not a lot to say about here. It's on the edge of The Snake River and The Boarder overlooking Ontario, Oregon. There is a Small Mall. Some Fast Food Joints and the typical businesses you would find near a mall. Nothing extraordinary. Not much excitement. Just another rural town, with the exception that my Grand Babies live here now. My Daughter In-law and her guy call this place home. It makes her happy so, I'll hold my tongue. Ish. I find myself in Idaho more as the years go by. There is a ton of potential for growth and commerce. I hope the future of Fruitland is brighter than love.

Awww yeah. That's the good stuff. This stretch of land way out in the NE corner of Oregon is a great place to retreat and (probably) an excellent place to live. If you want the laid-back life, that is. This area seems to attract an interesting mix of frontiers-people, artists, farmers and tourists. It's the opposite of homogenous. And that speaks volumes. It's even home to distilleries and one of the original Oregon microbrews! It's like a little slice of paradise.

None of the people care about respecting anyone in public areas and it's sad. It's a cute town and with a great college, but entitled dog owners are ruining it for everyone. It's not hard to keep your animal on a leash trained or not. Stop being entitled in public areas. I should not be attacked twice within a month.

I thought it would be a lot hotter out here but its actually cooler. For a town in the middle of nowhere. It has a lot to see. I think its mostly fast food but its all worth the journey. Ontario was founded on June11, 1883. There are still some historical buildings around but most have been taken down. A town on the rise but with some old fashioned gang problems. Its a great little city but buyer beware.
