We had some damage to our roof and chimney from a tree falling on it. Brad was the only person we called who actually responded and made time for us. They did amazing work and were quick to get here and do the job. He even did some work for us that wasn't originally discussed. I do NOT recommend hiring this contractor. I don't enjoy writing a negative review but feel compelled to so that others will have this information before they consider employing HIS Construction and Roofing, owned by Bradon Johnson. My husband and I were extremely unhappy with both the caliber of the work that Bradon did and with his lack of professionalism and honesty on the roofing job for which we recently employed him. Three different times, he had to be asked to tear down and re-do work that had already been done because it either did not conform to the contract or was substandard work (including an apparent inability to determine whether or not a line was straight). Each time, he failed to accept responsibility but, instead, either blamed others or argued about what was specifically enumerated in the contact that he had signed. Unfortunately, we discovered after we had already paid him that he still had not fulfilled all of the terms of that contract, which could only be a deliberate omission on his part. In the end, we had him sign off on his absolute refusal to meet the venting specifications that we asked for. He did not have the knowledge or skill set necessary to complete our roof in an acceptable manner; after the first two days his "crew" consisted of one other man who actually was working completely alone at times; and, in his inability to accept criticism, he was argumentative and bullheaded. We are fortunate in the fact that my husband has some knowledge of roofing and the ability to climb on the roof to inspect the job; someone without that knowledge or that physical capacity could very well be left with a substandard roof. We just hope that our roof will not leak during our next heavy rain or snowstorm, as it did part way through this re-roofing job. We used the Home Advisor website to find our roofer. At the time we signed our contract with Bradon Johnson, the only online reviews that we saw were positive. After we signed the contract and he had already started work, a negative review appeared on the site and it sounds as though their experience was similar to ours. We are puzzled by the radical change in the caliber of HIS Construction and Roofing's work as indicated by the reviews, but we would never, ever recommend either the company or Bradon Johnson, the owner, based on our personal experience. read more
