Best immigration lawyers in the city. We were very fortunate to meet Stella and Maile during our legal procedures and they were very supportive, extremely knowledgeable, and always brought clarity and expertise to our case. We can't express our gratitude for their professionalism and personable approach. We had a successful outcome and throughout the entire process, we could tell that we were in the best hands. Our family is so thankful. We highly recommend Maile and Stella. read more

I highly recommend Stella Shimamoto! She has helped my husband with his immigration case tremendously. I was a bit worried that due to the covid-19 regulations we had to do the consultation and build a case all via email, snail mail and by phone. Surprisingly enough, it worked out better than expected. After 6 YEARS of waiting for a response from USCIS we received an "Intent to Deny" letter in July for the sponsor application (I-864) I put in years ago. Of course me and my husband freaked out and scrambled throughout the internet in search for a good lawyer. What drew me to Stella was her empathy towards our situation and she expressed great interest in really helping us through this. She was very surprised about our long wait time for his green card approval and was diligent with her approach and its resolve. Stella took the time to interview us and my family members, gathered documentation, and submitted forms on our behalf to help build a sound case. Finally we received his green card approval a week ago! We are very happy that Stella guided us through this scary process. Her patience and knowledge made us feel safe and we knew we were in good hands. I want to add that though our correspondence was mainly via email she got back to us promptly either with email or by phone. I can't thank Hirota and Associates enough. read more

We really needed the help and expertise of Maile Hirota and Associates. They worked with me and my husband even though we had a few hiccups along our immigration journey. Maile and Stella worked tirelessly on my case and gave us such confidence that they were gonna get the job done. We are fortunate to have found such amazing immigration lawyers and now friends . I trust and truly recommend this practice. It was the best decision our ohana made and now we are all moving forward as my husband just received his green card. Maile Hirota and Stella Shimamoto did an excellent job preparing our E2 visa application and guiding us through the renewal process. My husband and I were advised that the processing time for visa renewals was a lengthy six months (due to a Covid-related backlog). I needed to travel for an upcoming medical treatment so Maile and Stella advised me to include a letter from my doctor in the hopes that the consulate would expedite our application. It worked and we were able to get the visa processed in three months and without having to go in for an interview! The visas were mailed to us. Throughout the process Maile and Stella were there to guide us and answer our questions, were super helpful and were quick to respond to our emails. We've worked with Hirota and Associates for three of our visa applications and will continue to work with them in the future. I'd highly recommend their business to anyone looking for a great immigration attorney. read more

I would not recommend; I went to see her for a consultation about 3 years ago and she is one of the most discouraging people I have ever met. Most of the reviews she has are from people with ZERO friends. These reviews look questionable and fake to me. After her "consultation," which was useless, to say the least. Hirota attorney was judgmental and seemed like she did not want our business. This experience was one of the worst and most unprofessional I have ever seen and I would never recommend her. So thanks for nothing. We filed all the required paperwork by ourselves and researched everything by ourselves; my husband got his permanent resident about a year ago. Thanks to your rude and judgemental attitude towards us we will never recommend or ever use you in the future. read more

I've had the opportunity to work with Maile and Stella on multiple immigration cases as a business client. It is a little hard to write an engaging review because Maile and Stella are so good at a difficult job, they make it look easy. They have worked with me on visas for people from Africa, Asian (China, Korea), Russia, Australia and Canada. They've helped me with questions like "How would you go about securing a work visa for a citizen of two countries currently working in a third country?" While this person could have applied at any US Consulate, we decided at their advice to have the person go back to her home country where the US Consulate was most familiar with this country-specific visa. Time was an issue and we did not want her to be delayed. She was able to get her visa in 48 hours. Each country/region has its own challenges and Maile and Stella prepared me and my employees for the process. They have also recommended to me in some situations that I do not apply for visas because they thought the chance of success was low. They were essentially turning away money by telling me this and it shows their integrity. read more

I reached out to Hirota and Associates in December 2015 after receiving a denial for my Green Card application (through marriage). My husband and I had filled out the initial paper work ourselves and had attended the interviews before being denied. I was distraught and terrified when I thought my family would be broken apart but Maile and the team immediately took on my case, working so hard to make sure that would not happen. This team of incredible women didn't just help me resolve my case; they did it in under a year, for an excellent price and also with care, attention and compassion for myself and my family. Maile is honest, transparent and in constant contact at vital times. Because of Hirota and Associates my family are still together. Mahalo so much for your support Maile and Co. read more

I am a Canadian citizen with a small business on Maui. I hired Maile Hirota to help me prepare an E-2 visa application. The quality of the service I received was excellent at every stage during the process. To start with Ms. Hirota provided me with a detailed checklist of all the supporting material required for my application. As I worked on collecting the supporting material, Ms. Hirota was very helpful and responded quickly to all my questions. Once I had assembled the supporting documents, Hirota & Associates submitted all the necessary online applications and helped me schedule an interview at the US consulate in Vancouver. Prior to my appointment at the US consulate, Ms. Hirota provided me with a clear, concise cover letter explaining to the consular official why I was eligible for the visa under the relevant treaty. This letter was backed-up by a complete, well organized and tabbed binder of evidence that Hirota & Associates also put together for me. The letter and the binder contained all the information the consular official needed to approve the application; my application was approved in about 5 minutes and I only had to answer a few trivial questions. It is clear to me that I had such an easy time at the US consulate because of Ms. Hirota's skill and conscientious hard work. Additionally, the total fees for the application invoiced by Hirota & Associates were exactly what they quoted me at the beginning of the process. This is in contrast to nightmare stories I have heard about other immigration law firms. read more

Stop looking, you've found the best firm in the islands for your immigration requirements. We were a bi-national couple intent on getting married with the clock ticking on the (non-American's) visa and through a referral from Immigration Equality we made an appointment to meet with Maile. Five months and one green card later, we are eternally grateful to Maile, Stella and Susan for getting us here. In the initial meeting, Maile was evaluating us as much as we were her. She is careful whom she takes on as clients, and that made us and our case feel like we were in good hands. In that meeting, Maile was informative, incredibly organized and sensitive to our situation. She explained the process and the fees involved and the general timeframe for each step. She laid out what information she needed us to provide to her and her office so they could file all the paperwork on our behalf. The process was smooth and painless and Maile, Stella and Susan were available to us the entire way. She was with us for the final USCIS interview and the moment our green card was approved was made all the more special having her right by our side. Maile runs her office like she runs her practice: With a VERY strong sense of 'ohana. She, Stella and Susan have a true 'local vibe' to them that makes them very comfortable to be around for both residents and traditionally more reserved non-Americans who are slightly terrified at the process ahead of them; and when you are dealing with the government it helps to have a warm, caring hand to hold on to. Its one thing to have an incredibly competent (20 years and counting) attorney on your side, but it helps even more when that person is equally as fun and friendly. Our process could not have gone any better or been any smoother. If you are in need of an immigration attorney your search can begin (and end) with Hirota & Associates. read more

I highly recommend their services. Maile made sure we felt at ease with the process and requirements. She took the time to listen to us and provided us with expert advise. It has been almost 8 months since we finalize the process and we fill confident she can deliver the same results for anyone else. read more

Your search for the best immigration attorney is over. HIROTA & ASSOCIATES, LLLC are the best immigration attorneys ever. I have heard many horror stories from many people I know, that used the wrong attorney or tried to save money and do it themselves. Maile, Stella and office manager Susan help you like no other. I talked to Maile in June 2015 about bringing my fiancé to the USA to marry as a K-1 visa holder. She explained the whole process and all the documents that were required. She also explained her fees and all the fees I would be required to pay to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. And we started our paperwork in July 2015. Everything Maile, Stella or Susan told us was accurate. Whenever my fiancé or I emailed or called, there was always a quick response. Maile talked to us using Skype, to prepare for interview at the U.S. Embassy in Manila to receive the K-1 visa, and we had a positive result. We arrive in the USA in January 2016, and married in January also. Maile went to our interview with us at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in May 2016 for my wife's green card. I cannot recommend HIROTA & ASSOCIATES, LLLC enough. You will never regret using them for all your immigration needs. They make you feel Ohana, and we feel like they are indeed, Our Ohana. read more

Maile assisted my wife in obtaining her Green Card here in Hawaii. We are most pleased at the services rendered by their office. Maile was very upfront about the whole immigration process and told us everything to expect, which included best and worst case scenarios. Knowing up front what to expect allowed my wife and I to make informed decisions that would benefit her case. Ultimately, Maile and her team made the entire Green Card process easy and stress-free. We were always informed each step of the way and highly recommend Maile and her office for any immigration needs. read more

Hirota and Associates are the best. We feel so fortunate and grateful that we had their help to keep our small family together in the U.S. My situation was a little complicated. Our former lawyer oversaw something important and it made my situation even worse. We felt sad, miserable and upset. I had heard great things about Maile Hirota, so I contacted her for help. Maile told us it was not going to be easy (as I had already thought so) but she took her time understanding my situation and she guided us in the right direction. I have used other law firms in the past (there were good ones and bad ones), and after Maile, nobody else is even close to her level of service. She is the most knowledgeable, efficient, fair, understanding, speedy, experienced and careful immigration lawyer ever. We feel we got the very best value for our hard earned money. I wish I can give them 10 stars. If you or your loved ones are suffering from immigration difficulties, I highly recommend Maile Hirota and all the staff at Hirota & Associates. Thank you so much to Maile, Stella and Susan for the warmest care. read more

We tried another lawyer first but we were unhappy with them (everything from response time to clarity of answer). We decided to go it alone. After we were denied, we decided to research for a good lawyer. We found Maile Hirota through lawyers.com. We found that Maile lived up to her previous positive reviews. She truly is the best. She was very knowledgable and completely familiar with the entire process. Her staff was very friendly. She made us feel comfortable and not so nervous during the process by responding quickly and thoroughly to all our inquiries (both in and out of the office). She also has a good network of colleagues to refer to for issues that are outside her area of expertise. We would most definitely HIGHLY recommend Maile to anyone trying to take care of Immigration issues. read more

I have a legal practice focusing on Japanese clientele with an emphasis on commercial transaction and civil litigation. Because I do not specialize in immigration law I have many requests for referrals from my clients for a competent and honest immigration attorney. I have been referring clients to Ms. Hirota for about 5 years. She is undoubtedly the most knowledgeable attorney in the State of Hawaii about immigration matters. Ms. Hirota earlier this year successfully petitioned the White house for a Presidential Pardon from President Obama for one of her clients, which is an extraordinary and historical achievement. Moreover, she is ethical, compassionate, and considerate in dealing with clients. Every single client I have referred to Ms. Hirota has been extremely satisfied with her work product and professionalism. read more
