This expanding chain ramen business has opened its newest location in Sorrento Valley where an Indian cuisine restaurant used to reside. I have dined at their Hillcrest shop a few times before including once for a Yelp event. The inside of the suite was simply decorated with light wood tones. About 40 diners could be seated, but beware that some of the seats were stools without any lumbar support. My friend and I arrived right as they opened on a weekday. By the time we finished, all of the seats were occupied from the lunch hour rush. A one page menu sheet listed their three types of ramen (tonkotsu, shoyu, vegan). Spicy cold dipping noodles (aka tsukemen) were also available. Four rice bowls, eight sides, two desserts, and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages made up the rest of the menu. I selected the Shoyu Ramen which was a bowl of handcrafted thick noodles containing chicken broth, aged soy sauce, two pieces of pork chashu, green onion, spinach, bamboo, kaiware sprouts, and half of a soft boiled egg. The broth was light as I preferred it over a heavier liquid. The meat was soft and flavorful. My friend picked one of the rice bowls which had more heat than expected. For the price and quality of my food, I gave a four star rating for HiroNori Craft Ramen.

Been wanting to try this place and glad they opened another location with good parking! We came at opening for a Saturday lunch and were seated right away. Quite a couple of parties came in later. The space is clean and minimalist with a good amount of tables but the chairs were a bit uncomfortable with no back. Service was really kind, friendly, quick and checked on us often. There's an automatic 17% service charge which is written on the menu and the waiter let us know before paying. -Tonkotsu ramen (4.5/5): broth was rich and flavorful, noodles were nicely chewy and thick, chashu slices were thick and tender, I like how it comes with bean sprouts, spinach and an egg! Portion was pretty big -Chicken karaage (4.5/5): juicy, lightly battered and crispy. Dipping sauce was thinner than expected but good flavor.

Came at opening for a Saturday lunch and was seated promptly. Although they just opened a few weeks ago, there was a good amount of customers coming in as we ate. The space is very modern and clean but seating was a bit uncomfortable (chairs are hard with no back). Service is very attentive and friendly! FYI there is an automatic 17% service charge which they informed us is optional to remove Tonkotsu ramen (4.5/5): very flavorful and aromatic. I like how much chashu, spinach and bean sprouts there is and it already includes an egg as well. Chashu is thick and juicy, a little fatty. Portion is big too Chicken karaage (4.5/5): crispy and lightly battered. I thought the consistency of the dipping sauce was a little thin but it still tasted good

We love that Hiro Nori just opened in Sorrento Valley. Parking is much easier and we were seated right away on Saturday around 5pm for a table of 6. Very clean minimalist decor. Our server was excellent, very attentive and personable. My husband and I both ordered the tonkatsu add extra chashu 3 pieces which we split. The chashu is sooo tender, broth is super rich and buttery, noodles thick and chewy and the egg is perfectly runny like it should be. You will not be disappointed. They add a 17% service fee which replaces the gratuity but you can ask for it to be removed and set your own percentage.

I love going to nearly open spots and on top of that to have a Ramen chain that opened up close by my house is a real big benefit. I took my work team with me. We ordered as much food as we could eat and I was there. It was definitely five stars. Starting off with the battered eel buns, that was a unique change from your regular pork bun buns (which they also have). The salmon crispy rice was pretty good. I would say lower quality than what you would get at nobu but does the job. The Shoyu Ramen had such a nice and light broth that you could not tell. This was a soup with all the ingredients inside that included spinach and a perfectly grilled pork belly with your egg and sprouts. It was all really delicious. My coworkers raved about the water that was infused with fruit and the friendly service. I would definitely come back because for the price point what you're getting and the quality of food they were all top notch. See my pictures and give it a visit. The inside was pretty modern and the seats were not all that comfortable, but they were matching the Japanese style Ramen shops.

We had such high hopes for this place since we use to go to the one in Hillcrest. We were super excited when one was open closer to where we live. Pros about this place is there is definitely easier parking. However the broth of their tonkatsu ramen was way too salty. The hillcrest location broth is much better, tastier, and more balanced. Even the color of the broth was different as I remember the hillcrest location the broth was lighter and more milky. The tuna crispy rice was good since they give you a big portion of it but the ramen was a let down. Staff there were super friendly and service was quick. But I do not think we will be going back to this location. Overall a disappointed experience.

The newest ramen spot in the area, and it was so good! Their appetizers really stood out to me. We had their: * Cucumber Crab Salad - So refreshing. Mixed in with a seaweed. It's sweet, tangy, and has a good crunch. * Pork Buns - Cooked perfectly! The buns were so soft as well as the pork. Their sauce inside really makes the dish! * Eel Tempura Buns - Their tempura batter is next level. Perfectly light and crispy. I usually always love eel the most, however, the pork ones take the win. * Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice - The rice here is thinner than most places I've had, and that's a good thing! *Very* crunchy, and they put a lot of fish. The fish isn't overly mixed so it's not mushy. The cold noodles were a first for us! The sauce left our tongues tingling! Their tonkatsu and vegan broths were both very thick and creamy and I love love love that they make their own noodles! The inside is very calming and warm, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. I'm glad to have experienced this spot before the crowds come in!

Stepping into this restaurant felt like stepping into a ramen shop in Tokyo. Warm greeting in Japanese welcomes you into a minimalistic stylish space. The tonkotsu ramen was one of the best ive had. The Pork chashu was tender but had yummy charring. I resisted ordereding it spicy and the broth was just so flavourful that it wouldve gotten lost in the spice. Ordered an extra egg and the egg was delicious as well.

Really cute little location in Sorrento Valley, coming in early (11:30ish) there was no trouble getting a table, but by noon, all tables were filled. It was minimalist inside, mostly with this wicker bench like seats (so no back support) or the hard bench booths along the walls. Menu was straightforward with ramen, rice bowl, or hand roll options. I've never tried the rice bowls from HiroNori so I decided to pick a large spicy tuna bowl. The bowl was large and came with a lot of rice and quinoa. There were two scoops of spicy tuna that was truly spicy, so I was only able to eat one while sweating and brought the other scoop back for my husband. I don't think I'd get it again. The service was great, very efficient and our waters were constantly being filled.

came here with family and had such a good time. their cucumber salad is AMAZING, like i would honestly order at least two next time lol. i got the cold spicy dipping noodles and it was definitely something new for me. it wasn't bad at all, just not my personal favorite. i still think their tonkotsu ramen wins for me because the broth was super rich and umami. we also got the pork rice bowl and if you order the large, they are SO generous with the protein haha. the crispy rice with spicy tuna was definitely a hit too. my brother in law also ordered either the spicy tuna rice bowl or the salmon one and he said it was really good! i also tried the pork bun and the pork was pretty fatty, so just keep that in mind if that's not really your thing. our server was super friendly and cute, and she definitely gave really good recommendations. the place also just opened and i really liked the aesthetic of it! overall everything tasted great and the whole experience was really enjoyable. i highly recommend checking out their sides/appetizers because those honestly stood out the most to me!

My wife and I saw that this place was close by so we had to check them out. I don't think the restaurant does reservations but we went around 5-6pm and we had to wait 30mins to be seated. There was a party of 8 that was waiting before us and the place is small so there wasn't much seating. The establishment was full of people dining and more waiting outside. The food was pretty good with a good portion and I liked how the menu was simple. The servers were attentive and quick. Would like to try the other stuff on the menu sometime in the future

We got the tonkotsu ramen and it did not disappoint. The broth is super rich and the noodles very bouncy and the perfect length. The chasu was nicely done. Unlike some other ramen places, there wasn't a need for a lot of toppings. Service was super fast and responsive. Took our order very quick and checked on us multiple times. I would say the interior of this shop is quite different from the one in Hillcrest. A bit more seating and a super minimalistic interior. It's comfortable enough for a nice meal but probably not the best for long conversations. Parking is definitely a highlight and is leagues better than Hillcrest. Overall, if you're looking for authentic ramen, this place ranks in one of the top spots. In my opinion in might be better than Menya Ultra because it feels more calm and simple.

First time trying this specific location but the other one did not disappoint so I had to try it. There was a very large lot but we were able to park with no issue on a Saturday afternoon. We had a fairly large group but the service was great and they were very attentive. The atmosphere was loud but it was also very busy and everyone was having a great time. The karaage was flavorful but just needed a little more crunch. The ramen though was delicious and worth coming in for. Can't wait to go back

The service has been insultingly, rude; we had a talk with our server and even pass along a compliment, it was shocked with how unkindly they responded. Every single item of the menu has been absolutely terrible; the sushi was a quarter of the size it usually is and tastes terrible, the edamame is cold and feels like it was scraped off the floor, and the karaage chicken is now covered in a glaze that is making our stomachs absolutely sick. And the food is even more expensive than it was before! I absolutely do not want to pay for any of this and it makes me sick to my stomach to have wasted our time here this evening.

My husband and I have been here several times before as it is both mine and my husband's favorite ramen eatery in San Diego. This is the best ramen in San Diego. After going on my own little ramen crawl around SD, this is the top of them all, bar none. If you really are craving something close to ramen in Japan, try this place. Everything is fantastic here but my favorite of all the ramen choices is the Red King (the spicy tonkotsu). The Black King is also good (squid ink) and has a nice umami punch to it with a good helping of garlic to seal the deal. The karage (fried chicken) is great as well. The texture is perfect and I think the sauce provided really added to the overall bite. The gyoza is also fantastic as well and they provide a dipping sauce that is not the standard dip but something better. If I recall, it is a lightly sweet pear-esque sauce with the consistency almost like apple sauce. It's very very good, don't knock it till you try it! The service is always quick and top-tier. They always have a jug of water with lemon slices and cups available to use at any time. Seating is both indoors and outdoors. Inside it can be a little cramped if you have a large group but outside has full tables next to the pond which is quite nice. This is not a traditional restaurant so there are a few things to keep in mind: 1) There are no reservations. 2) There is a dedicated queue outside and you need to wait in that to line to be seated. 3) They will not take you to be seated until your entire party is readily available so just be cognizant of that. 4) Everyone in your party will receive a red marker and a paper form to fill out your individual orders while you are in this line. If it is your first time, check the Chef Recommendation box at the top to make it easier. Sides are at the bottom (most ramen do not include an egg so if you want an egg make sure to mark it). 5) Your party may be seated at the same table as another party and share the space. If this is an issue for you, sit outside. 6) You get your receipt from your sever and pay at the register.

When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't even full, but no one greeted us for several minutes. Eventually, a waiter came over, and when I mentioned our reservation, he seemed confused and said they don't take reservations for parties under six. I tried to explain that someone had taken my information over the phone, but he interrupted me multiple times and didn't let me finish. He then walked over to another group behind us and asked if they were there first, even though we had arrived before them, which was frustrating. We were eventually told there was space available at the bar seating (bar stools) instead of a table. At that point, we were tired and hungry, so we accepted. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve. The waiter seemed rushed and disorganized--he couldn't remember our order and had to ask us which dish belonged to who when the food came out. As for the food, it was okay but not memorable. My ramen was just average--the pork was dry and the egg was overcooked. Overall, the food is decent, but the service really needs improvement. This particular waiter clearly needs more training, or possibly a different role, as the level of service did not meet basic expectations for a restaurant. Our second visit left a bad impression, especially since it was our last night in San Diego. Sadly, we won't be coming back.
