He lives at 89 St Benedict Street and comes out of his house to scream at people who are peacefully sitting in the shade on the steps not doing anything but just enjoying not being in the heat of the summer sun for a few moments. There are signs posted about parking and towing away cars, but in front of the church there are no "No Trespassing Signs" in front of the church steps, or even on the corner of St Benedict and St Francis Street. Perhaps there should be which would make it very clear to all the lack of humanity, compassion, and community of this particular neighborhood church. And truth be told it further annoys me as someone who lives in the Lincolnville neighborhood and whose taxes helped pay for the new elevator, the complete refurbishment of the exterior and interior of your church to the tune of over $600,000. But hey if you had a sign right in front of the building that stated emphatically "No Tresspassing by Order of the Police Chief" it would be very clear. Unlike the St Cyprian's Church down the street that has a lovely garden with benches and invites the public in for a respite. Or St Benedict who holds a biweekly food bank and invites all people from everywhere to participate and allows for people to play in their field. What a sorry excuse for the neighborhood.

Pastor Smiley Sturgis and the folks here run a quality, fun church that offers a lot of services to the local community. The services are always fun, filled with joy and quality lessons. The band that plays before, during, and after the sermons are members of the church who are very talented and keep you entertained and singing, while delivering the message. Pastor Smiley always gives great sermons, utilizing pop culture and sports intertwined with teachings of the bible to deliver his message. He has always made time for my wife and I, and is as great a friend and mentor as he is a pastor. Our wedding here was spectacular- church looked amazing, the service was perfect, and everyone who attended loved it. If you live in the area, definitely recommend you stop in for a service, or to just say hello and see for yourself. They recently opened a new branch of the church at World Golf Village for those who live a bit further north, but I have always enjoyed my Sunday mornings here, and am so thankful for the chance to get married here. While I hear of all the events going on and I've been and saw the youth perform. I see that they make sure there are many ways to connect to its member and keep them close. I also like live stream from their app or website on days I decide not to go anywhere. The Ministers here are funny as well. Laughter is great for he soul.

Rich has recently transitioned home to His Heavenly Father. Our time here over the last month has been meaningful. The Father and Son who shepherd Family Church are rooted in the Word of God! The praise team usher the congregation into the spirit week after week. The entire church is engaged and singing along with each song. My grandsons actually look forward to attending services on Sunday. This is what any parent or grandparent looks forward to hearing from their kids. They're learning about the Bible and Jesus. When I asked them, what they learned today, they can explain and express themselves. Hallelujah The alter call is genuine and a sincere pull on the heart to get it right for yourself with the Lord. We are not members of Family Church. We're still seeking a spiritual home. I felt lead to share that attending Family Church over the last month has been a welcoming experience for me and my family.

The church looks very small from the outside, but to your surprise when you come in the place is absolutely enormous. You can see by the many photographs that I posted the beauty of this interior space. My wife and I attended Mass one Sunday morning, and it was a beautiful Mass, friendly priests and friendly parishioners. When in St. Augustine, my wife and I attend Mass at the Cathedral Basilica in the old city. But it is closed for renovations. we stumbled upon send Sebastian, and now this will be our church when we go to St. Augustine on future trips. One of the local touches that I noticed on the interior was, they used coquina in the construction of the altar and in the Construction of the lectern. I recommend this church to anyone that is visiting St. Augustine.

Cathedral Basilica is a nice walk-through visit while meandering through St. Augustine. It is free…read moreto go in while there aren't any services, but always be respectful of those in prayer. It's a pretty cathedral with lots of history. I especially loved the wooden beams on the ceiling, it reminded me more of Dutch architecture than Spanish. One of the odd quirks of this particular cathedral is that you exit through a gift shop, which kind of threw me off and didn't feel genuine. Overall, if you're interested in architecture and history, this is an okay stop while exploring that city but definitely not a must.
