Vacation? -yes, please! Hilton resort -yes, please! All inclusive -yes, please! Amazing staff -yes, please! I don't know how to name every single staff member who made this such an amazing trip. A few names that I remember... Arianna - at the pool, you are amazing! Angel -front desk who checked us in. He was so kind. Jose T. -made us hooka 3 times. They were good. Humberto -Sunan restaurant made us laugh so much Guilemar - at the pool, was very attentive I'd stay here again but I wish it was closer to hotel zone. $55 taxi each way was a bit pricey. They do offer shuttle service but only during the day. I wish there was an evening one too. At least one time? Plan accordingly because the "drive way" is like 10 mins. Lots of food and drink options. One bummer is the ocean water was a brown musky color. I was disappointed but can't blame the resort for that. Hotel zone water is the clearest blue so I was a little surprised as this was my 5th time in Cancun. (First at this resort)

Amazing, new, stylish 5 star all inclusive resort with extraordinarily wonderful staff. The Hilton was a fantastic stay and one I definitely recommend and will come back to. Facilities: 5/5. This hotel felt very new. The decor was stylish with lots of open spaces and natural lighting. The hotel itself felt huge and never felt crowded although there was clearly lots of guests staying here. We were always able to find an open seat in the lobby, buffet or poolside. Everything was exceptionally clean. The 2 infinity pools were nice, overlooking the ocean with a variety of pool lounge chairs with tables and umbrellas. While the chairs were not always clean due to bird feces etc, these were easily covered up by the hotel provided towels. Food: Overall the food was pretty good! Vela- 4/5. is the buffet restaurant which was open for 3 meals of the day. There was always a seat available so if the restaurants were full from reservations, this is where you should plan to eat. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I mostly enjoyed the fresh fruit, bacon and potatoes. They had a made to order omelette station. They also had fresh juices available and I got a mimosa. The dinner buffet was not bad. The best part was the made to order seafood grill which included fresh scallops and mussels in a garlic sauce. The rest of the dinner selection was decent. La Luce- 4/5 this is the Italian restaurant. Make sure for all the restaurants you make reservations for dinner on the app right after you check in. We liked some of the dishes including the fettuccini Al ragu and a prosciutto pizza. We did not like Alfredo pasta which was too creamy and buttery. The salad had too much dressing. The tiramisu was excellent. Auma- 5/5. Is the steakhouse. The meat selection and quality was excellent. We really felt like we were at a steakhouse which would've cost at least $50 per entree. The sides were excellent and the desserts were tasty. We were disappointed that we couldn't take home our entree leftovers. I understand this could be abused if leftovers were allowed but it felt like such a waste to not be able to finish our steaks in our room. Especially since there's only one entree per person at this restaurant, I think it'd be reasonable to allow leftovers. Maxal- 5/5. Is the Mexican restaurant. This was the best restaurant experience we had. We ordered some delicious mole and a red snapper which were all cooked perfectly. Our appetizers were also fantastic including the guacamole! They were able to accommodate my disdain for cilantro too. We were surprised by how tasty this food was. Sunan- 2/5. Is the Asian lounge restaurant. The setup is really awesome in a poolside restaurant overlooking the ocean. The stirfry food was actually not bad and tasty. The sushi took a long time to get and unfortunately it was not worth it. Honestly it was some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The quality of the raw fish wasn't great and didn't taste good. We didn't get sick from it. It just wasn't good. Pool Bar- 5/5. the drinks were very good overall. They did not hold back on the alcohol and every drink tasted great. We were able to order whatever we wanted. They only ran out of kalua once but restocked it the next day. My favorites were the espresso martini, mango tango and Miami vice. Poolside taco stands- 5/5. Some of the best food we ate. These made to order food stations were phenomenal. So fresh, hot, and tasty. We loved how customizable everything was and the ingredients were delicious. Churreria- 4/5. The dessert bar was great. The churros were tasty and candy was fresh. I wish the hours were longer or later for this, it often wasn't open when so wanted it. Hotel lobby bar- 4/5. The bartenders were great like at the pool bar. The wait was longer than at the pool bar though and I realized standing in one spot optimizes wait times. I think they could've used another bartender to make things go faster. Room Service- 4/5. Decent selection and we got our food within 15 minutes although they originally quoted us 60 minutes. Everything was served in its on tray which was nice. I liked how it was available 24/7 so we felt like we always were able to eat. Amenities: Fitness center 5/5 had everything we needed Shuttle to hotel zone- 3/5. This was easy to schedule on the app and made for a cool experience to town. However the shuttle came an hour later to pick us up to bring us back to the Hilton Cancún. This was stressful and other guests we were with were concerned about no one picking us up. Entertainment- the nightly entertainment was nice to mix things up. The MJ show was a great production. Staff: 10/5. Every staff member was phenomenal. They spoke decent English, were genuinely accommodating and professional. The staff stood out and always felt taken care of. The staff didn't seem to expect tips either which only improved our interactions. We wanted to tip them because they were that great, it felt in no way obligatory.

I cannot stop talking about how great this all-inclusive resort was. I never expect the food quality to be top notch at all inclusive resorts, but this place blew my mind. Food (5/5): I don't normally eat at buffets, but Vela changed my mind. They ere open all-day and always had seating availability. The breakfast buffet was great- they had a chilaquiles station! They offered a variety of fresh fruit, juices, and breads as well as the traditional breakfast foods. From the 5 days that I was there, the breakfast menu stayed the same. The lunch and dinner buffets did however rotate daily. The made to order dishes that I loved included the tacos and the seafood grill. The poolside taco stand was another hit. Although, it would've been nice if they had 1 other person working there since the lines were pretty long. There were 4 choices of taco meat along with an amazing variety of salsas- they were so so spicy, but so flavorful that I continued to put every salsa option on my tacos. The other restaurants that we dined at had great service and great food- just make sure you make your reservations as soon as you check-in! Facilities (4/5): The "driveway" to the hotel, though long, was absolutely beautiful. You are truly immersed in nature and it's also kind of exciting because you don't know what to expect when you arrive at the hotel, but you know you are getting closer and closer to find out. The lobby was spacious, stylish, and welcoming. We arrived at the pool before must people so that we could snag a lounge chair inside the water. If you go later, finding a place to sit is difficult. The pool overlooked the ocean and was very calming. Sadly, the beach had a lot of seaweed and the water wasn't too clean, so we chose to stay at the pool. If you plan on leaving the resort, be prepared to spend $62 one-way. Unfortunately the resort doesn't have a shuttle service. They have partnered with the taxis, and the pricing is a bit ridiculous because it doesn't matter where you are going. I would 110% come here again to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, views, and of course THE FOOD!

This has been a long overdue review since we were here back in March of this year. I know the resort just opened so I was expecting hiccups when we got there. We must've gotten lucky because our vacation was nearly perfect. We were given an ocean view upgrade which was amazing! I know a lot of people are complaining about the check in process but it wasn't so bad. It was a little slow but they do give you a cold towel and a welcome drink while going over everything. Pros: - waterpark for my son - delicious food at the restaurants; didn't have a problem with reservations as we liked dining early - friendly and helpful staff Cons: - no spa so the massage was in room (still very nice though) - not much night activities (which could be a good & bad) Overall, we'd come back. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay!

Pros: Food/Drinks: For an all inclusive the food is pretty good and we were able to try all the restaurants available at the resort. We ate at Auma twice. I had the claim chowder, New York strip steak, mashed potatoes, corn, and a side of chimichurri sauce. The next place we ate at was La Luce. It's an Italian restaurant. In my opinion this was the worst meal of my trip. We tried a few apps but nothing was really memorable. The pesto pizza I had was alright but the shrimp was very soft and I like for my shrimp to have a bite to it. We also had the penne Alfredo and the sauce was bland. The tiramisu was the best part of the meal. Next we ate at Maxal-Mexican restaurant. This place was pretty decent. The shrimp and fish taco were great! The barbocoa taco was also delicious. The tres leches was also surprisingly tasty because tres leches can be hit or miss. Next was Sunan-Asian cuisine. The philly roll was great. My favorite appetizer was the chicken poppers. These were so addicting. I also had the pad thai with chicken which was flavorful. Next we ate a bunch of tacos on the side of the pool. My absolute favorite was the Al Pastor however, you cannot go wrong with the carnitas or carne asada tacos. They were literally my favorite for a quick meal. Lastly the buffet has many options. We ate here many times and used all our room services on breakfast. Overall I give the food here a strong 7.5. Auma -8/10 La Luce 5/10 Maxal 7/10 Sunan 7.5/10 Buffet 6/10 Hotel: The rooms are spacious. We purchased a sunset King bedroom and were on the 6th floor. The balcony allowed for us to have a beautiful green scenery while enjoying our room Overall the service we experienced was very good. We tipped often for our food, and drinks. We purchased hookah for about 45 bucks and it was decent. Service: The people here are super nice, accommodating, and helpful. Mostly everyone was nice and respectful. Our fridge was restocked daily. Room service was always right on time. We were actually surprised but they allowed us to check in early. Cons: Room Noise: Our room was on the 6th floor and our room number was 6039. The room had two connecting doors and we could hear every single thing that was going on in the two rooms next to us. It wasn't like people were being obnoxious either. I recorded it so y'all could hear it for yourself. We were woken up multiple times during our stay but did our best to sleep through it. Someone was on the phone at 2:00AM and it literally sounds like they are inside our room. We even checked the hallway out of confusion. This was by far the worst portion of our trip. And I am by no means a light sleeper. Transportation: When you get to this hotel you have are basically stranded unless you can reserve the free shuttle that takes you to the hotel zone, or call a taxi that will charge u close to 70 dollars. The shuttle only comes every 4 hours at 9:00AM, 12:00PM, etc. You will be lucky to have an uber pick you up. I called an uber and noone would accept the ride. The reason likely is the resort is buried deep into a mangrove. We wanted to take the shuttle on our last day to the hotel zone and hit up the beach however, the shuttle for both 9:00AM and 12:00PM were completely booked. Thats about 20 seats for a resort that holds over 1400 people. Beach: When it comes to the beach don't even bother. If you booked this resort for a beach you basically did zero research. This is common knowledge so I won't beat a dead horse Pool: The pool area is okay. It's not swimmable due to the width and length of the pool. You just have to float around. If you were to try and jump into the pool you would hurt yourself. The pool puts aesthetic over enjoyment and to not have a beach I feel like the pool should be a lot better. Additionally, the pool has many tiles that were missing. I found some while swimming around that were just floating at the bottom of the pool. Theres glue marks holding the titles in place and aesthetically is not very nice. Conclusion: Overall I would give this resort 3/5 stars or a 6/10.

It sure is a beautiful hotel, that is the best thing it has going for it. The rooms, beds, and showers are so nice. The food was definitely lacking; most of it was not good at all. The only decent meal we had was at the Italian restaurant. The pina coladas were delicious. This was a very expensive all-inclusive hotel, but I'm not sure the price was worth it. I think the water was more beautiful in other parts of the Riviera Maya. We would try a different hotel next time.

My boyfriend & I are currently on our flight home from this beautiful all inclusive resort that we visited for 7 nights. With this being our second time staying here, we expected the best and received the best! We, as well as many others, were feared visiting because of the recent negative reviews... but we couldn't have been happier, again. First and most important: hats off to ALL of the staff.... From the room cleaners, to the cleaners in the halls and common areas, to the waitresses/waiters, bartenders, cooks, seaweed cleaners, performers, front desk staff, etc. Everybody worked their asses off each and every day to make all of the clients needs as perfect as possible. Shout out to "Diego" in the buffet, he's a top notch guy .....With this being said.... TIP TIP TIP! A single dollar per drink, five dollars for a meal, etc is not a lot to ask for when your receiving A+ service. We understand that it is "all inclusive" but these workers are doing a damn good job and deserve every cent! It is very much appreciated by them and it helps them tremendously! We were shocked and appalled how many people didn't tip. A recommendation we would make is to bring large yeti or yeti like cups with lids. They will use them and refill them as much as you'd like. Second, a few tiles were missing in the pool but they had people making repairs in both pools each night. We did not see anybody or hear of anybody getting injured at all. Third, there was a lot of seaweed coming up from the water each day. Every single day, they had either several people raking or driving a tractor to clean the seaweed. The ocean was very warm and very nice to swim in. Fourth, the shows were great! We thoroughly enjoyed the glow party, the karaoke night, and silent DJ events! They were great for all ages. Fifth, we made reservations for the entire week on the first night that we got there. Avon had a large convention and their attendees took up a lot of reservations for the families and couples, so we planned ahead. Sixth, reserve your chairs before 9am. With the Avon convention, a lot of the seats were gone by 9am thoroughout the week. When the convention attendees left, a lot more chairs freed up throughout the day and weren't 100% occupied all day. Seventh, the sun is HOT! Bring lots of sunblock!! If the wind is blowing too hard, they lower the umbrellas for safety reasons. Lastly, go and make your own opinions. There were a lot of people complaining just to complain on this page and it made everybody nervous. With Understanding that not everybody's experiences are an A+, a lot of complaints were slightly exaggerated. It is an amazing resort, that offers so much, and has stuff for all ages! It is certainly a resort we plan to continue to visit several more times throughout the years.

This was first time taking the kids to an all inclusive resort. We enjoyed our time here. Beautiful resort with a lot of family oriented activities and adult activities. We mainly stayed onsite so we were able to take advantage of all this resort has to offer. Javier and David in the fitness center (yep, I'm that person) offer a nice variety of classes. Javier's cardio boxing class was not easy at all. It was challenging for me and I teach boxing back at home! And let's talk about the food. There is a lot of it. No one in your party will ever say they went hungry here at the resort. Some dishes were better than others. The beachside taqueria was the highlight for us. The buffet options for breakfast and lunch are pretty good. Cocktails are good, not the best, but good enough especially since they are unlimited. We are gold members and opted to pay for an upgrade to an oceanfront junior suite. It was nice having a half bathroom for our family of four. The clear glass wall that separates the bedroom from the bathroom is not private, so make note of that. The beds are not as comfy as some of the other Hilton locations and the sheets always felt damp bc of the humidity in Cancun. It was HOT. We are from the south, so we know hot. The AC does turn off when you don't completely close the sliding door. Housekeeping is where this location can improve. We had to request clean towels and toilet paper because these items were not replenished when our room was cleaned which was only once our entire 5 night stay. No biggie but this might be an issue for some. Everyone we encountered were very accommodating with a few that stood out for us. Olivia on the adult pool side was very attentive as was the young lady that served us at Vela. Can't remember her name but she was wonderful. The shows are good enough with the Michael Jackson show being the highlight for us. We plan to go back to Cancun but may not choose to stay at an all inclusive as we felt we needed to stay onsite to make sure we got our moneys worth.

This was my first ever visit to Mexico and first stay at an all inclusive. This hotel is very new. It felt clean and modern. We stayed for 7 nights. The beds were very firm and the pillows flimsy. The room was spacious, plenty of drinks in the mini bar and they provided a roll away bed. Additional drawers may have been useful. Plenty of food options. It did get a bit repetitive. The Buffett at lunch was disappointing, but they have multiple carts of food by the pool each day. Burgers, hot dogs, tacos, ceviche, quesadillas, fresh fruit etc. There is also a taco stand and Asian restaurant. The sushi was not the greatest but the ribs were amazing. We saw 4 different shows while there and they were cute. Don't go in expecting broadway. Service at the pool was excellent. Some nights at dinner it took awhile to get drink refills, same at the buffet for breakfast. The beach wasn't the greatest but overall if the price is right I'd return. Rates are around $500-$700 a night so I'd have to find a deal! The beaches in the hotel zone are a bit better.

This place is great for families and for couples to get away . The Italian and the meat restaurant are the BEST and the buffet is great . Love that with all those options you can still get room service 24/7 . They have bars everywhere and pretty much any licor is available. The staff is incredibly nice and with an A+plus customer service. The only downside is that after 11:00 the only place open to grab drinks is the bar at the lobby and they have no music . If you are traveling there make sure just to bring any medición you may need because their prices at the store are outrageous like a Tylenol $23 US DOLLARS .

Honestly one of the cleanest resort we have stayed. Food was delicious and server staff was okay. The beach was cleaned throughout the day to keep of sea weed and sea was great! We saw fishies and sting Ray! The hotel had two sections of pool one side was more adults only the other side had the kiddie pool therefore kids were welcome to this resort. There is also kids section where you can leave your kids to do activities and play meet other kids. But be fair to folks who are working tirelessly! Don't leave your kids all day! However the team had phenomenal staff in the kids section. They all knew my sons name and he had a great time with everyone! Also there was a dessert shop with ice cream! Everyday there are programs and interactive games both night and pool!

I'd never stayed at a place like this: an all-Inclusive resort where you're constantly looked after, waited on, and if you so choose, picked up after. To say I was a bit floored by this experience would be an understatement. Let me start by saying that we (husband and I) ended up here by *happenstance* and I am SO glad we did. Everything was wonderful from the staff, to the room, to the restaurants, to the beach and pool. While our stay was shortened because of the circumstances surrounding our "end up" at this oasis, we enjoyed soaking up many of the things the property has to offer; but, really, we could come back a dozen times and there'd still be more to see and do. If you want something that has privacy, peace and quiet, options for any and everyone, and a staff who make the experience truly one-of-a-kind, look no further; or, as our valet said, "welcome home."

Somehow it's been almost 5 months since I visited but this hotel is awesome! This was our second time in Cancun but after a just-okay experience at a budget hotel, we decided to splurge a little more. It feels very safe and there is a ton of greenery you pass to just get to the hotel so it's secluded. The vibe overall was classy; everything is modern. There are various restaurants to dine at (which you reserve in advance) and the hotel serves the same drinks across the board. It was nice to try so many drinks (the cucumber refresh was my favorite). We had no trouble making reservations and tried everything. Room service was 24/7 and this came in handy on a night that my bf had one too many drinks at the pool. They also will restock your fridge if you call and they paid attention to many special requests on my room service orders which was nice. My favorite restaurants were the steak restaurant (Auma) and the Italian restaurant (La Luce), although at the Italian, the waiter was a little judge mental of how much food we Americans were ordering. The octopus at sunan and the tamarind margarita were also top contenders. Service was really great and we always tipped everyone. Cruz and Antonio at the pool bar were excellent. Fabian at Sunan served us before we left for our flight home and definitely made it a meal to remember with great service. We also were able to book activities directly from the hotel such as a private fishing boat. My only draw backs are that I wish the resort had green tea and another trash can in the room (they only had the bathroom trash can and this was small). I also wish there was an adults-only pool as I thought one was advertised this way. Chairs fill up quick at the pools too as they rent some out so I wish this wasn't the case. Lastly, the beach does fill up with a lot of seaweed and gets murky throughout the day but they made sure to clean it. It definitely wasn't as blue as other areas in Cancun though. Otherwise, this hotel was gorgeous and had all of the amenities needed. I can't wait for my next vacation here!

Some people say the treatments are expensive but I found that they were comparable to any nice, luxurious and exclusive day spa I have ever been to. It was worth every penny. Tons of pools and activities. I did not have to worry about finding seating. Moises at the Excellence Club pool was absolutely outstanding. He is legend around here and I can see why. Most days were spent at the beach, meditating and relaxing. I have never been taken care of better than I was by Ivan and Jorge. They were outstanding gentlemen and treated me very well and ensured I had a great week. Hibachi dinner was excellent. Rosy and Gerardo were so much fun. Food was fantastic. Erika at Aroma was a pleasure to see each night as I got a warm drink and tea to settle down for the evening. Overall, an absolutely great experience. I will definitely be booking another trip for next year.

Food was surprisingly better than I expected. I stay at the Sunrise, which is the middle (Nizu more budget and Grand is the high end). It was perfect, there were plenty of activities for the little ones and nice shows for the adults. The restaurants consist of several all you can eat and several sit down restaurants. The nicer sit down restaurants, you'll want to reserve in advance and bring some nice cloths. I spent several mornings going to their gym, the coach is super friendly. I took some of their fitness class - kickboxing and physical fitness. The coach does their best to cater towards your physical fitness. I was lucky one morning to be the only person there, so I got a one on one experience, love it! I would definitely go back in the future. Short drive from the airport as well. You should download their app since it gives you all of their information and restaurants, reservations times, etc. Just watch out when you check in and check out, there's some sales folks who will try to hustle you. I'm usually more inclined towards an adventurous vacation but there is a time and place for everything. Moon Palace certainly has everything! This resort is only about 10 minutes from the Cancun airport (CUN) and is actually compromised of three properties in one - Nizuc, Sunrise, and The Grand, each with increasing level of "fanciness." You can travel between all three on foot or by golf cart and take advantage of the amenities at each, except The Grand which is wristband access only. Each property has all of the things - swim up bars, restaurants, beach access, lobby bars, night bars and clubs, grab and go food, and more. My friends and I upgraded our standard room to an ocean view room right near the golf cart stop and it was worth it. Getting around the property does take a little coordination and it was nice to have the golf cart stop nearby. The room itself was spacious with a well stocked fridge and hard liquor dispensers but does have a large bath tub in the center of the room which took up a lot of space. I'm not sure who is using these. We got room service almost daily for breakfast and a late night snack and it came quickly and was fairly good quality. The staff were all excellent so definitely do not forget to tip! They of course are gracious for anything that you are willing to offer - pesos and US dollars included. Please, please tip as they all work really hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. I will say that the check in process was a little confusing. When you walk into the lobby at Nizuc, there are several large desks immediately to the left that look like the check in but these are actually the check OUT. Check in desk is actually down a couple of hallways and not well marked. I had to get a bellboy escort me. We also had some issues with our wristbands. Since my party arrived at different times, some of our wristbands got deactivated when the rest of the party arrived. Luckily we were able to help one another out getting into the room and finally got it resolved at the desk. My only real reservation about this resort was the number of young teenagers. Admittedly, we visited during spring break but teenagers they were everywhere! Drinking age is 18 in Mexico but many of them looked like they could be 14 years old drinking at the bars and going to the clubs. Many of them were quite rude too yelling at the poor waitstaff for more drinks, not tipping and not saying thank you.

So my review of the Hideaway pretty much covers the same ground. If you're an adult booked at Hideaway, you have access to the full complex, that side and the family side. Kids, of course, can't go over to Hideaway--which is nice; you can go back and forth between families and semi-loud music and a more quieter atmosphere, in just a short walk. Check out Agave and Taj restaurants; some of my favorite food that I've had at an all-inclusive, to date. I think you'll find the staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. Truthfully I can't say enough good things about Royalton Riviera Cancun; since completing renovations this past December, they've moved up to the top of my list of A-I's to recommend.

Good, but not 5 star resort…read more I don't leave reviews often, although I personally felt that I needed to leave one as I struggled to get an idea of what I was in for. From what I experienced I had mixed thoughts coming here. If you're reading this you likely do too. You've seen the videos and reviews about food poisoning. And I've come here to tell you that they are both right and wrong about. Firstly, if you are traveling to any part of Mexico take Dukoral prior. Yes, it's expensive. Although I strongly believe it works and can help keep you out of the bathroom. Food: I am not feeling my best. No vomiting or serve pain. The best I could describe it is slightly inconvenient. I do typically have stomach problems in the morning although they have persisted throughout the day on this trip. Not due to food poisoning, I'd say it's likely from the fact that's there's so much my body is not used to, including the heat. Now going through reviews I was often thinking to myself that many of the people getting sick are just people getting far too drunk and blaming it on the food. And yes, it's very likely. In my opinion I believe it's the variety, not the fact it's "bad". When you eat a plate of beans, next to sashimi, salad, tacos, and a bunch of other dishes I'm not all that surprised about the stomach issues. If food is your main concern I wouldn't be worried. I'm in a group of 7. Nobody has had a serious problems, including me. Although I can't say it's 5 star food. If you're really worried you could play it really safe by just picking more strategically with your food. Props to Hugo at the Hibachi Grill, he's got some serious knife skills. Food was really great. Atmosphere: The lobby is immaculate and pools are immaculate. Definitely 5 star. The public spaces feel well thought out and modern. Love it! Rooms: Not impressed. This is supposedly a five star resort. Although the rooms feel much more like a four star. The fan rattles and sounds like it may fall on your face at any given moment, and the AC is not good for somewhere that can get to 30 degrees. The best way to sum up the rooms is like a very heavily used five star room. The Marriott Cancun All Inclusive has much better rooms for comparison. Drinks: I'm not much of a drinker by any means. But from what others around us were ordering the selection was very limited. In most restaurants you couldn't get a mojito. Although the drinks they could serve were decent. Marriott Status: We are titanium elite status with Marriott. Although with royalton that pretty much translates to "we don't care". No special treatment, no room upgrades, nothing. They barely recognize the fact they are a Marriott hotel. Unfortunate to see. Beach: Water is warm, nothing like the light blue water at the Marriott All-Inclusive in Cancun. It's quite murky. Although we still had fun. Service: 99% of the staff are lovely. We had a poor experience at the Italian restaurant. Besides that everyone was great, friendly, and attentive. Night Life: If you're looking for a party resort this is not it. Simply not. Adults only is the only way to go. After 10PM the hotel is dead and everything closes. This includes the pools, they close very early. Verdict: If you've got a family with younger kids I can recommend the resort. Don't let the food poisoning reviews scare you off. Go and have a great time. There's variety for everyone. Now if your group is 18+ book at an adults only and enjoy your vacation. Best of luck

Check-in was amazing. We upgraded to the Serenity Package so we got a separate lobby check-in area which included a snack bar, a private bar where they were ready to serve us drinks while we waited for our room keys, etc. The workers that got set up with our rooms were fantastic and got us ready to get to our rooms quickly. Upon check-in we gave our bags to the waitstaff and they made sure they were ready in our room once we checked in which was awesome. The resort itself is simply fantastic. There are a ton of restaurants and bars to check out, shows to see on a nightly basis, and just a ton of property to explore in general. Everything was pristine and pleasant. The employees were INSANELY kind here. And it wasn't even seemingly forced - everybody here seemed to enjoy their jobs and they were so attentive, personable, and kind. It made the experience that much more special. The food was actually so good - I saw so many reviews claiming that it wasn't that great but we were pleasantly surprised. Room service menu was so solid (esp after a day full of tequila shots...) and I LOVED that they have a cool little room service cubby where they place your food so you don't even have to answer the door late at night! We absolutely loved the Vista restaurant (Serenity Club only). The shrimp tacos and ribeye tacos were SUPERB. My dad was craving a shrimp ceviche and they only served veggie ceviche, but they got our room info and made sure that they had specially made shrimp ceviche for us the next day. Not only was it DELICIOUS, but they were expecting us and knew exactly that we were the group ready for the shrimp ceviche! The nightclub (Moons Cabaret) is a little on the small side, but it's fun for a quick show/dancing moment before bed. The bar gets a little busy, but that's to be expected. My husband and I also indulged in the spa and absolutely loved our treatment! We did the hydro hot/cold experience and it was fantastic. I'm a baby when it comes to cold water, but it was so refreshing and our spa waiter was amazing and so kind. Highly recommend. ABOVE ALL, the highest of my kudos go to our butler/concierge, Miguel. With the Serenity Club package you're given a butler/concierge that you communicate with via WhatsApp and he helped up with EVERYTHING the entire trip - and even became a friend. He made all of our dinner reservations, replied to all room requests, and even helped me on my quest for my lost glasses (LOL, another story for another time). Miguel made our stay the most seamless experience ever and he was so funny, kind, and caring. I literally can not say enough good things about him. If I found that Miguel took his talents to another resort, I would visit that resort just for him. I highly suggest upgrading to the Serenity package just for the chance of being introduced to him! We were looking forward to this trip for nearly a YEAR and it lived up to every expectation. There are so many things that I left out that I could talk about all day - just know that if you are vacationing here, you will NOT regret it.

I'd been to Royalton Riviera Cancun several years ago, but this was my first time there since they completed renovations at the end of last year, and I can happily say that the updated look of the resort is excellent, and the staff among the best of any resort in Mexico. I'm a big buffet fan, and Royalton has one of the largest, most impressive buffets (available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) that I've ever been to (this was one item I remembered with great clarity from my previous visit, and if anything the buffet is even better now). Staff members Graciela and Angel were particularly helpful. I also checked out Agave, the Mexican restaurant, and the food was superb, as was the service from my waiter, Jorge. And on my last night I hit up Taj Indian Cuisine, with excellent service from waiter Marcelino and hostess Suleman. The appetizer I ordered was so good, I requested a second plate of it. I like the way Royalton proper and the adult side, Hideaway, sit next to one another. It's easy to get between the two, but if you need some quiet and it's too loud by the main pool, you have several other options. I particularly like the small swim-up bar located just around the corner from the louder main pool/swim-up bar. The Hideaway Beach Bar (with excellent bartenders Manuel and Frank) is great for people like me, who enjoy being at the beach but get too much sun very quickly. The lobby bar just inside Royalton is also really cool. Lots of selection, and friendly bartenders like Alberto, Angel, Mateo, and Antonio (I may have spent more than a couple hours at this bar). Alejandro at the Martini Mix bar was also very nice. And Yuriana on the housekeeping staff--I can't say enough good things her and the housekeepers in general. If you want them to, they will do a comprehensive cleaning of your room, including sweeping and mopping the floor, every day. I greatly enjoyed this resort. Their renovations were well done and the staff and food are great. Seaweed is an issue this time of year, in this area, but they've got trucks hauling the stuff away, morning to evening, to clear it up as much as possible. I can recommend this resort without any concerns/reservations.
