About Our Company
John Hoffman developed a distinct interest in clocks when he was ten years old. His mother bought an old mantel clock at a local auction, and he disassembled, cleaned, and oiled the internals until it began to work perfectly. He also is an active member of The National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors and has been since 1994.
Beginning in junior high, John would place ads in the local paper for clock repair to hone his skills. His mom would even chauffeur him around to make house calls after school. This sparked his lifelong interest in anything related to clocks

Your Go-To for Repairing and Maintaining Clocks
Finding someone with the skills to repair antique clocks can be difficult for many owners. At Hilltop Clock Shop in Cambridge, Ohio, we offer a variety of clock repair and purchase options.
Proper restoration of your clocks inner workings is a very delicate and time consuming (no pun intended) process. We want the job to be done correctly and honestly!
When we restore your clock movement, it is completely disassembled and every part is individually inspected, ultrasonically cleaned, rinsed, hand dried and reinspected. Every worn bearing surface is replaced with new brass bushings. Every pivot on each shaft is ground and polished smooth and hand fitted to its new bushing. The escapement pallet faces are reground and polished, all springs are tested and replaced if they appear weak or damaged. After completion of the movement restoration your clock, with proper care and service will run as good as new for many years to come.
