I made repeated, documented attempts throughout 2023 to reach your office regarding time-sensitive IRS matters , those went unanswered. I have emails to prove. Referring to this as "completed services" is difficult to reconcile with unresolved issues at the time. During that same period, critical IRS deadlines passed while I was trying to get guidance. Even the IRS agent contacted me directly asking if you were still representing me, as you were not responding to them either. Finally, after several years and 7K later in fees to the attorneys, my case has been resolved. I wish it would have taken shorter and less in fees but at least I can breathe now and have to focus on paying the fee. Overall it took much longer as I expected but mission accomplished. read more

the first two years IRS had asked 20-30k; instead if trying to figure out, the solution of the firm was to put me on payment plan I had to go to US court and fight which 0'd it up while I should have had a lot of return. I was like ok, let me give them another chance; let them do my 2022 taxes; loan officer looked at my taxes and told me " is this prepared by brain dead person?" Not only it was badly presented, but entire pages where tons of expenses could be added were left blank; got denied all SBA loans based on this firm's returns; no council, no suggestions, no effort to make it better; even accounting fees could be entered as expenses, they didn't; they ruined my plans for the future, and I can't amend them cuz time, paperwork etc. I am sorry for myself for trusting Yelp. read more

These people are scam artist. Brittnie Bernardino claimed that this company has attorneys that will step in to help resolve your issues with the IRS. They do not have any attorneys. She totally misrepresented the services and took my money. She had me complete a Power of attorney claiming they were attorneys and they would submit the form to the IRS. That never happened and of course the folks listed were not attorneys. When I asked for my money back she pretended she couldn't hear on the phone and then the phone disconnected. I wanted to write this review of Hillhurst Tax Group, who reduced my tax bill from $282,744.00 down to $24,852.00, now that 2017 taxes are filed and ALL of my IRS tax issues from 2008 to present have been resolved by their amazing team!! I met Jonathan and Alex at the end of 2016 when I was desperate to find a competent Offer in Compromise (OIC) tax attorney that could help me immediately. I owed taxes and penalties of $282,744.00 from 2008-2012 and had paid a previous accountant $5000.00 to file an OIC for me in 2014. He was a good CPA but had not done many OICs. I trusted him but it took over 2 years and my offer was denied due to my accountant missing a deadline. So he filed another OIC, but the IRS was taking a long time and it looked like my second OIC was going to be denied and I couldn't afford going through another 2 years so I needed to make a change and find a more experienced OIC Tax attorney specialist. So I went on the Internet and searched for the OIC and tax attorneys in Los Angeles and found a bunch of companies and called a couple. Many wanted $5,000 upfront to take my case. Then I read a review of Hillhurst Tax Group where they offered a FREE consultation. I read all their reviews and noticed they had GREAT reviews on Google and Yelp and also saw copies of their clients letters where they actually saved them thousands of dollars and got their clients OIC accepted and completed in 6 months versus my CPA taking 2 years. So I called and talked to Alex and they agreed to meet me that day with Jonathan. I had a large tax liability but had some special circumstances that Jonathan felt he could persuade the IRS to consider but it would have to be on appeal because it looked to him like I was going to be denied a second time. I didn't have the $5,000 but Jonathan agreed to take 1 down payment that day and the balance in 2 more payments over 2 months since it was going to take several months to get through the appeal process. We agreed and it was the best tax decision I have made. It took over a year but the IRS settled with Jonathan so I could make a $24,852 payment over 5 months to settle the $282,744.00 tax liability.(see attached IRS letters) I was able to get that done and received the below documents(OIC payment received) from the IRS confirming my payments and now owe the IRS $0.00!! What a great feeling. The Hillhurst Tax team always called me back when I had a question and handled every call with the IRS so I didn't have to deal with the IRS directly, ever. Jonathan even met with me on Saturday so we could get my tax issues done when I didn't have time during the week. We met with Alex in January 2017. During this time we were frustrated and stressed because we had an IRS bill for more $171,000. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but I don't want anybody to go through what we went through. Everything seemed to start off great. Hillhurst was friendly and seemed to care about our situation. We had come in with a bank levy to which they said had taken care of. A couple of months we got another one and we sort of forgave them for. Then we got another. Then another one. Then we got our tax returns to sign and our daughter was not on the returns as a dependent so we had to send them back to be redone. Then the wage garnishments started. Hillhurst would say they were taken care of but they wouldn't be and we'd be garnished. This all went on for awhile. Then they stopped returning phone calls. Then they stopped returning emails. I would have to go into the office to get a response from anybody. Now here I am trying to pick up our records so we can take them to another tax attorney to get things straightened out. I've been trying to get them for over a month now, but again no response unless I go into the office. This was the final straw. They'd ignored a garnishment we got for a month now. I called the state board and got it straightened out in 30 minutes. And why was there a garnishment? Because Hillhurst separated my wife and I's accounts so she wasn't getting credit for the payments we were making. I don't know if it was a competency issue or a we don't care attitude. Either way I would heavily recommend not using Hillhurst for your tax services. read more
