Great work out! Energetic knowledgeable staff work with all fitness levels. No other work out can…read morecompare, I have used all of the well known franchises and this place stands alone, in a refreshingly great way. From the professional athlete to someone that is just starting out, they make adjustments to the group work outs, or can coach you through a tailored program for your targeted goals. They even have a free 0930 Saturday work out for veterans and first responders, I have been going.

Pros: The instructors are great at designing fun, challenging classes. Exercises that use a variety of equipment like sledgehammers, monster truck tires, sleds, and battle ropes will have you feeling like a badass. Trainers are comfortable working with all skill levels. Good variety of class times to fit your schedule. Other members are friendly and inviting which makes for a motivating environment. Personal training and weight-loss challenges are great additions to the classes. Cons: Classes are outside, so it can get hot in the middle of the day. Best time to go is early morning or sunset. (If it rains they move class indoors.) Bottom line: The classes are top-notch, but what makes Evolution special is the amazing staff and welcoming community they cultivated. Look no further to reach your fitness goals.

Over my last 10 years, I have been in a struggle to find answers to permanent lifestyle changes,…read moreweight loss, muscle building and improving my health. All because, I was lost for DIRECTION and TRUTH that I can trust to make these changes. I have been through meniscus surgery in my right knee, bypass surgery and I still could not find a solution to change and reverse my situation. I still had knee pain and a lack of energy .....UNTIL April 19, 2018. I found my answers at THE FACILITY - FOR PERSONAL TRAINING in Boca Raton owned by a father-daughter team, Fred and Narisa Steinberg. Prior to my new adventure, I have been walking and walking (feeling like Forest Gump), and with the knowledge of a lifetime of weight lifting for sports or conditioning, OR WHAT I THOUGHT I HAD KNOWLEDGE OF, tried to do this myself, not knowing the secrets to unlocking my true potential. I worked with trainers at local gyms with what they called "TRAINERS", that have no knowledge of anatomy orthopedically or otherwise. I even tore my meniscus as a result of a training session with a trainer who pushed me indefinitely. THE FACILITY only hires trainers with four year degrees in Exercise Science, Physiology and Kinesiology. Only professionals are aloud to train their clients. The equipment is state of the art, custom built for safety and minimal joint pressure, geared only to apply stress on specific muscle groups, and after one month, I realized that in a one hour training session, I may do 20 to 30 different combinations of muscle building techniques with their weight machines and a combination of free weights and TRX techniques using my own body weight, only concentrating on one to two muscle groups per session. The Facility is a complete GOAL ORIENTED program. When you first start, they use the IN BODY analysis, which measures your whole body composition, of BODY FAT MASS vs. LEAN BODY MASS (Muscle), BMI (Body Mass Index) and PBF (Percent Body Fat). IN BODY even tracks a "Segmental Fat Analysis" and "Segmented Lean Analysis" which tells me the composition in separate body parts (TRUCK, LEGS , ARMS). Lastly and most important, every month after I train I redo the test to see how much body fat is lost and how much muscle mass is gained to develop a Body Composition History. Then the the work began!!! Fred assigned a personal trainer, John, who I would be working with 3 times a week. All well and good, but the program is set up such that the client and the trainer work as a TEAM to accomplish these goals. He is responsible for my results by knowing how far to push me to my next level for conditioning and muscle building, but I am responsible for my lifestyle outside The Facility in regards to how I eat, knowing my food groups to eats, and the foods within those groups. The trainers MUST succeed, and if they do, they get bonuses for your results. If they don't then you are assigned to a trainer that WILL get you the results, no questions asked. John has helped me understand my body, has showed me what each motion or segment of training does to each body part, makes sure that positioning is done right to accomplish the goal intended, and even discusses Nutrition to help guide proper nourishment during training. He pushes me to new levels, building new on new muscle. The Facility is not a "workout gym" but is a very medium size, professional, clean and well organized operation designed to meet the goals of the client. Many orthopedic doctors, cardiologists, nurses, professional athletes from all over come here to take control of their health and their life. Upstairs there is a men's and woman's locker room with a bathroom and shower. Towels are supplied by The Facility. There is also a lounge upstairs with a big screen TV to relax if you have time. The Facility is ranked #50 in the nation for a physical fitness facility by Men's Health and Yelp and #1 in the State of Florida. There is no membership fee or set commitment for sessions required. They will refund the money if sessions are payed in advance and not used. I pay for one month at a time for my 3 sessions a week. I want to give John a big Shout Out and THANK YOU, for the success so far in my first month. RESULTS: Lost 11 pounds of body fat, reduced my Body Fat Mass by 3%, Gained 1 pound of lean muscle and lost 7.5 lbs. on the IN BODY analysis, 10 lbs on my home scale. The first question people ask is "how much does it cost". My answer is this: It is relative to how much you care about your health and your body. I spent almost the same amount on a weeks worth of dining out, grocery bills are less and THERE IS NOT A PRICE TO PUT ON YOUR HEALTH. I want to thank Fred, Narisa and John for fulfilling a void that has now given me energy, youth and NO KNEE PAIN, anymore!!! I work outside the house for hours with no pain and a ton of energy and sleep better. Starting to feel like I am 15 years younger. THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!!!

Both gyms are about the same distance from my house, but I prefer the Boca location. They have the same amenities, but the Boca gym is much more aesthetically pleasing. I especially love the room on the left side when you first walk in. There's a record sign up there. I like to record workout content every now and then, and that space is perfect for it. I also really like the graffiti-style art on the walls. The only downside is that it's always pretty packed whenever I go, which can be a bit uncomfortable at times, but it is what it is. The staff could work on their customer service, as they're not always the friendliest, but I've dealt with worse.

He tried to play it off but never answered me. I explained to him that I'm a member and don't appreciate being disrespected by being barked at like if I was a dog. This gentleman proceeded to escalate the situation and asked me if I wanted to have a problem with him. He might be used to threatening people in his life, but I don't play that nonsense. Customer Service 101, apologize and rectify. I politely explained to him that instead I wanted the solution of being treated with dignity and respect. Like all cowards he tried to play it off instead of manning up and being accountable for his immature and unprofessional behavior. He commanded me to "walk away" to which I responded with "apologize." He refused and then squirried away from the front desk. To exacerbate the situation, one his older white coworkers (Lee?) told me that he would beat him up if he ever barked at me again. Instead of an apology, I got another clown trying to punk me. I then saw them both talking so I approached them to have a professional conversation. This time the white employee ran off with his tail between his legs and the tall African American employee told me, "don't come at me." Instead of having a professional conversation, he also ran bravely away. BTW, I'm 5'7" and 160 lbs. This gentleman is 6'4" and at least 200 lbs. Trust me, there was NEVER going to be a physical interaction. I just wanted to talk, man to man. I guess little boys can't handle that yet. If you're the GM, please contact me. I have been a member of EOS for years both in California and Florida and have never run into anything remotely as unprofessional as this. Please run a serious business and hire professionals. EOS, you're better than this.

THE PERFECT COMBINATION - I have worked out inside NYC…read moreEquinoxes, and Soulcycles as well as the at home digital memberships, and the economy gyms (Ive literally searched high and low for something that felt right) ... what I absolutely love about CityROW is that (to me) you find a sweet spot. They have a perfect combination of clean and modern, challenging and refreshing workouts as well as void of the portentous gym types! I have taken classes at different studios and the Boca Raton location is great! You quite literally see Dan (the owner) live the CITYROW Ethos, (if you don't believe me check his Finisher numbers on the board each month)! IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN ON A ROWER BEFORE - Just try it! What do you have to lose? Other than 50 mins of your day. You will learn proper form, especially if you come early, the instructors will show you! And, you will forever recognize and understand how the WaterRowers work. IF YOU "HATE WORKING OUT" - Hi! We are a lot alike, (my most natural state is sleeping) but with that said... CityROW signature class STILL to this day is the ONLY group fitness class that I have every really enjoyed. (Ive tried spin, yoga, palates, the works!) I have been to classes at a few locations, and can say with confidence that it is the combination of floor work and rowing that helps break up that time, as well as the music and energetic instructors that hep you over the hump! As soon as I felt like I was ready to give up, we moved to a the rower again, or onto the mat. Signature Classes were the gateway drug. Strength class is for anyone who enjoys weights/challenging themselves! IF YOU AREN'T A GROUP JOINER - (Same) Problem solved, reserve a rower at the back, or side of the class. You don't need to be up front and center to get a workout in. Drew likes to remind you that "Its your workout, there is no shame in your game". IF YOU DON'T LOVE CARDIO - Take a strength class, I have done almost 40 classes with Drew. A LOT more weights and floor work. They run a lot of promotions and my first class was free, I then followed up with a few more, and now I do a monthly membership and go twice a week. I'm about about 50 mins away, but make it a priority to go. You can choose what weights you use throughout the class, and the great thing about using WaterRowers is that you set your resistance. Throw your Finisher times on the board, or just take notes for yourself and see if you can make or break that time.

Patricia and Drew are phenomenal!! Bravo!!!
