What a nice surprise! Before attending a parade this afternoon, I visited to get my Americano cafe. Interesting concept in that the service person explained y that any size is the same price with the same amount of espresso (2 shots). I was like, neat! I am always on the hunt for a great latte - not the one that just tastes like milk, but the latte that you can smell the amazing espresso and when you take that first sip it doesn't taste bitter, but tastes of the unique espresso flavor that truly makes the latte worthy. The ambiance is modern, screams minimalism and somehow still makes you want to go inside. Remember that weird trend called "clean girl aesthetic?" Well, yeah. It gives clean coffee shop aesthetic and no pricing on the menu. I hate that, but whenever I see this I know that for the most part the coffee is going to be above $7 when I get my alternative milk added. The Strawberry Milk latte caught my eye. Reminding me of elementary school and simpler times prior to 9/11, I had to get it and I ordered it with a sub of milk for almond milk. NGL, when I got the latte I was surprised it wasn't pink, but it's coffee. Coffee is darker. No way am I going to see pink so I quickly got over my surprise and stepped into reality. The reality is, this just tastes like a regular latte. I want to say I tasted the strawberry, but I'm not even sure because if the taste were actually there, it was barely there. Coffee is pretty customizable when it comes to adding flavor, and I really wanted to love this drink but based on the description, I'd give the drink a 2 out of 5. Great coffee matcha and they had a delightfully subtle strawberry latte It wasn't overly sweet and just a hint of floral aroma and flavor. The coffee is $6-7.5 each but Kevin was friendly and makes a great latte The pastries are varied and they looked delicious but the empanadas/hand pies were $11 (overpriced) croissant and doughnuts were small and also $5++ each A bit overpriced but high quality coffee. The hand pies! TRY THE HAND PIES! I came here to grab coffee and breakfast before a work meeting. I got the mushroom hand pie and an allspice latte. The hand pie was WAY more than I expected. It had a buttery, flakey, homemade crust. The mushrooms were firm and fresh tasting. The eggs and spinach were good. I expected some stale, hard thing, but this was so good! The allspice latte was a fun new twist. The music in here is great. The service was quick and she was friendly. They have free WiFi and a little seating area to work. I've walked by this shop in downtown Oakland, so today I decided to go in and give it a try. I ordered a strawberry latte from their seasonal menu, and when asked by the cashier, I went with the default which is the medium size and whole milk, and cost $6 before tip. I don't see any info on the menu about the price difference for their three different drink sizes, so I wish they would add that. The medium is 12 oz. The drink was prepared within only a few minutes, and the barista was friendly and also made some nice latte art on the top. I was here on a Wednesday afternoon, there was music playing in the store but not too loudly to be unable to hear when talking to people, and almost all of their seating, which was mostly stools at a countertop/high table, were empty. They do provide free wifi. As for the drink itself, I couldn't taste the strawberry part, only the coffee. It wasn't bad as lattes go but I wish the strawberry flavor was a lot stronger. read more

I went here a couple of times during my jury service. I really liked having the computer option for ordering in case it was jammed (it wasn't when I was there). I didn't like the quality of the coffee as much as at other places, so I stopped going, but the staff was definitely friendly. read more

The space is airy and clean, and I like the optional iPad ordering system. The latte is a bit bitter for my taste (this seems unique to all Highwire coffee shops), and the only seating/working options are high bar tables or too low loungy chairs. So excited to have a fresh new coffee spot in downtown Oak! This space was formerly Peet'a coffee which sadly closed during the pandemic. The prices are very great and serving size on point. I tried out the cup of coffee and cappuccino today and both were excellent.
