Just getting this review finally out. On February 21, my husband and I went to Hwy 39 for an event for my child's school. This is a unique place for a party/event with all the classic cars. However, as my husband and I and another couple were about to leave I saw the manager, Michael K (as I see his picture on this site) approached a young female and raise his hands to scream at her, "What the F#@* are you doing." He continued to scream at her in front of other guests and employes. We could clearly hear him over the band playing. I felt so bad for this girl as she was completely humiliated. What ever the issue was, he could have handled it in a kinder manner. I have read other google and yahoo reviews and this seems to be a recurring issue. this man should NEVER raise his voise like this to others. He clearly has anger issues. Sadly, after seeing this, I will not recomend this event center, nor will I ever go there again! read more

This would be an awesome venue to throw a party/wedding at. It is a classic car show room full of plenty of signage and photo ops. There is a full bar, kitchen, stage and plenty of room for fun. They have really cool Jack Daniel Whiskey Barrel tables with bar stolls. I came here on a Sunday for the third Sunday of the month Pistons and brunch car show. Came here for a Gala hosted by our sons school. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside was filled with classic cars and fun decorations, the food they served was simple but delicious and so were the drinks. The owner seemed a little grumpy but I heard they have brunch on the weekends and I will probably be back with my dad to try it! read more

This is such a cool venue! The atmosphere is incredibly eclectic and catchy - it feels like stepping into a vintage warehouse filled with classic cars, memorabilia, and video games. The space has a fantastic industrial vibe with plenty of character. From what I could tell as an attendee, it appears to be a rental venue where you can bring your own food and customize the setup to your liking. The bar area adds a nice touch to the overall experience. While I don't have all the details about pricing or booking (since I was just a guest), I can definitely say this place has serious wow factor. Beautiful place, great venue with the beautiful cars, highly recommend this hidden gem.

The Flyers and advertisements for this 50th year reunion posted several times that this facility would be having pictures, class photos, music from the 70's, etc; none of the above were present. Food was mediocre, parking and building location were not in the best of areas it appeared to be more of a warehouse than a meet and greet/reunion location. The event itself was overpriced. For what we received. The sound system was also way under par. Bartender was condescending. This facility lended no elegance, and we have had far better locations, food photos, and music at other locations within the past 50 years. We drove a total of 800 miles and 14 hours round trip for this event and were disappointed. Other than a car show, I can't think of many other reasons for this type of location for your events as well. read more

Westminster High School, Class of '74 just had their 50th reunion here. What a fabulous venue for our event. Everything was managed to perfection by our Reunion Committee and the Venue Staff together. It was a perfect place to walk down memory lane admiring the cars too! My friend and I felt safe going in and leaving as there was a super nice man showing us where to park and that we knew where we needed to be. Be careful if you're thinking about having an event at Highway 39 Event Center. This is a CAR SHOW, nothing more. Its a warehouse full of older Chevies. We had a reunion there which cost $9,500 for 75 people - that's $126 and you get a cafeteria-style meal on paper plates and plastic forks and cups. That price did not include centerpieces and other decorations, raffle prizes, etc., etc. (which is normal), but they were additional expenses for us. The menu was nothing special, either. For $35 a person you get either Hamburgers & Hot dogs OR Pasta OR BBQ Brisket and Chicken. (This does not include the $3,000 rental fee for the event center and several other charges). But you can get the same Brisket & Chicken dinner for $15 every 3rd Sunday at the car show - and there's a live band! The manager is very unprofessional and can spot a sucker a mile away. Don't fall for it! The venue was so expensive we had to do without a band or photographer. We had 5 hours of music on a thumb drive, which Micheal wouldn't play because he said "we've had 4 reunions here lately and we already have music". WHAT??? We had fun but that was only due to our alumni re-connecting. Many people commented they would rather have gone someplace else. One that didn't come with such a high price tag so that more of our alumni could have afforded to go. (We're all retired). Skip this place unless you're looking for old Chevy cars. read more

First time here! Great venue for a party. Big open space and lots of cars to check out. We were here for a Christmas party with a buffet dinner and cash bar. Wasn't expecting too much with a buffet dinner but everything was very tasty. Roasted vegetables, potatoes, beef, chicken and Mahi mahi. Loved the veggies and I the fish which was delicious. Oh and salad and rolls too. All very good. The only thing not good was the dessert, didn't get any! They ran out!! Otherwise I really liked the place. read more

I found this hidden gem to host a Celebration of Life for my father, who passed away in late 2020. We delayed a service of any kind due to COVID-19, and I was initially looking for an outside venue when I came across Highway 39. My dad was a car guy, through and through, and I like to think he was proud of the celebration of his life we held in this amazing facility! Our guests felt safe as there was plenty of space, they enjoyed the automotive eye-candy, and it was all-around the perfect spot to host this event! Michael, Kim & Moses were all great to work with. They were patient with me, though I think I tried their patience a bit as I tend to run up against (and maybe past) deadlines, but they remained professional throughout. Moses did an amazing job with the AV and was a lifesaver! The food was delicious, the venue clean (Michael said he is proud to have the cleanest women's room around, and he does!), and everyone had a great time. Just had our 50th reunion here. Not what we wanted for such a great event. It is just a large warehouse with some old cars in it. The appetizers were served to you unless you were walking around the venue, then you did not get any appitizer at all.The food was mediocre not served to us at the table. We had to line up like a buffet to be handed our paper plate of food and plastic ware to eat with. Desert was store bought cookies and brownie bites. No band or music, and no photographer. One person decided on this venue, reserved it and did not take into account what the committee wanted. read more

We just celebrated the 50th High School Reunion (Anaheim High School) and I can't imagine it could have been any better thanks to this amazing venue. It was the PERFECT setting for us to laugh, eat the delicious food they provided, with amazing music and the impressive collection of vintage automobiles. It was the best possible atmosphere! I attended an evening function here this past weekend and was completely blown away by the space. While on the outside looks very simple and plain, the interior has a sort of industrial, but retro and glamorous feel. It kind of feels like you're in a millionaires posh garage. Haha... Prior to entering the main area there's a small room where you can set up checkin along with some other vintage items including a Big Bob Boy statute and jukebox (although I think it's defunct). You then enter spacious main room which is decorated with many beautiful vintage cars. At the event i attended there was a mini stage set up for a DJ, a dessert bar and real bar, and chairs and tables scattered throughout the room for guests to enjoy. The event I attended accommodated at least 400 guests so if you're in the market for a corporate event, wedding, or formal function this is a great swanky venue that will really impress your guests (especially if they're car junkies). The manager, Michael, has mental health issues and is verbally abusive to guests at events. He will ruin your night and will scream at you if you accidentally forget to put your mask back on after sitting down or taking a picture. His outbursts are loud and embarrass the person he is yelling at, right before he goes outside for a smoke. Michael, I know you're reading this. It's time to ask yourself why so many customers continue to write reviews saying that you have serious anger issues and ruined their event. read more

We had our wedding and reception at this gorgeous venue on Oct.19th 2019. The staff was very polite and accommodating to our guests, friends, and family. The food was excellent! Everyone had a great time! Many of our guests mentioned: "This is the BEST wedding I've ever been to!" Michael Keener was helpful in sorting the details. He helped us get a small arcade setup on-site as well! Michael has so many contacts that he can arrange pretty much anything you desire! As Michael would say: "Anything from mild to WILD!" He is a direct personality, and takes safety of personnel and property seriously. That can be off-putting to some people, but if your guests and vendors respect the venue and cars, you're not going to have any problems. All of our guests had a blast! An unassuming car lovers dream..... highway 39 is an event center that features Classic cars from 1920's, 30's, 50's, 60's, and 2000's. There are even a few bikes. We came here for a birthday party, the manager Mike was so rude using profanity words towards my boyfriend he grabbed him by the arm and was forcing him to leave the venue. We left in shock at his behavior towards us. For Mike to react this way over something so diminutive is mind boggling. Never in my life have I felt so disrespected by anyone ! He showed so much anger and rage. If we were rude or disrespectful to him I would understand his reaction towards us ,but that was not the case. My boyfriend was calm throughout the situation but Mike still continued verbally abusing my him. It's a shame such a beautiful venue condones such ugly disgusting disrespectful negative behavior with its employees. read more

For anyone considering holding an event here: The first thing you notice when attending an event at this place is that it is located in a pretty crappy industrial park in Anaheim. The property itself is fairly well-maintained but not at all landscaped. If you have guests arriving to this place, they may be going what the F?? Once you get inside you'll notice it is very clean and well-maintained but once you get past the entryway, the smell hits you. It's the smell of a garage. Because that's what it is. Dozens of beautiful vintage cars and motorcycles, but it smells like oil and fumes and dirt. Do you want your guests to smell that? It is impressive visually. Their sound system is very nice. Great video support. But, as you'll read in other Yelp reviews, the owner/manager/weird guy that runs the place, Michael, is something to be dealt with. He not only just manages your event, he wants to become a part of it. And he is very very particular about how things run at "his" place. Be prepared for some stress there. And guests have reported that he oddly engages them. And he and his staff all wear those crappy, garagey,two tone short sleeve shirts that guys who like cars think look so cool. He will also get angry if you don't hire his band. The place is fairly affordable for events, but is it worth saving a couple of bucks to have to deal with that guy? I don't think so. This place is amazing! Just had our wedding here last weekend and everything turned out amazing. Michael was very organized, on top of everything and very patient. Food was amazing! We picked Italian and it was so good especially the dinner roll. My quest had amazing time and kept saying how cool this venue was! And some requested to have their birthdays there! What a great place to hold an event such as this. Our 50th high school reunion (class of '72) was a blast thanks to this event center and the organizers Janice and Michael. There was plenty of room to roam around the display of cars and most important to visit with classmates from years prior. I can't say enough about Highway 39 Event Center and the venue manager, Michael Keener! We hosted a 100th birthday party for my truly remarkable mother-in-law last Saturday night for about 180 people and it was a fabulous party! The car collection is stellar and was a very pleasant surprise to most of our guests, the majority of whom are car lovers and collectors. Michael and his staff keep everything in the place sparkling clean and in excellent repair. Even the ladies' room is impressive. Michael is very detail-oriented and was on top of absolutely everything before, during, and after the party. We worked with Summit Event Catering, whom Michael recommended, and they did an excellent job. The food and service were excellent and we got many compliments. Since they work at Highway 39 frequently, they are familiar with the venue and know what to expect. Their staff was excellent and very courteous and professional. And since Michael is used to working with their staff, he is able to manage the event more efficiently. Our party grew from our original estimate of 100 people to 190 people, which was a little unnerving for us, but not a problem for Michael. He continually reassured us that everything would go perfectly, and he made absolutely certain that it did. We also hired the DJ and singer that Michael recommended, and couldn't have been more pleased. Moses, the DJ, managed all the moving parts of the party, and there were many, carefully and considerately. He played to the crowd, sensing when the mood and music should be changed up to suit the guests. Moses also worked with the singer, Kayla Renee, to be sure she had the proper backgrounds for her vocals. And what vocals they are! You can see a video of Kayla Renee on the Highway 39 website. She is a terrifically talented young woman who is sure to be a star. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. And we had many, many guests asking us where we found her. They could not believe her talent and incredible stage presence. All I can say is that Highway 39 was the best venue for our party and our guests. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that the venue was very cool and perfect for our customer party. The food and service were top notch as well.
