Mountain Monsters Daycare

Mountain Monsters Daycare

I tried out 2 other home daycares before I chose Mountain Monsters. The first thing that struck me…read morewas that it was really clean. You would think all daycares that are legit and have children running around would be, but not the case. Sonya's home and yard is immaculate. There are endless toys and play structures which is great because my son is a super climber. Sonya has one of those natural connections with children which again is not the case with a lot of daycares. How do they get their licenses??? That's another topic. My son is crazy about her. I was really worried when the first 2 days he cried a little when I left him, but now when I pick him up, the first thing he says is "Awwww, I don't want to go."

We love Sonya and consider her a friend and extended member of our family. My son, who is now…read morethree and a half, has been going to her since he was seventeen months old and we now also have our fourteen month-old daughter there as well. I always know that they are safe, well-cared for, and have a range of activity options throughout the day. The small, in-home setting works very well for us and eases the burden of having to leave them during the day. Drop-off is easy because they are so happy to be going there, but pick-up can be a bit more challenging because they are not always ready to leave. =) Sonya's own two children and her husband are also very loving and engaged with the kids and it feels like an extension of our own home. In addition, Sonya has been very flexible in attending to our needs as a vegetarian, cloth-diaper-using family, which was not the case with all of the childcare options that we explored. I highly recommend Mountain Monsters Daycare and am so happy that we found it for ourselves.

Little People's School

Little People's School

My family loves Little People's School!…read more My daughter was attending another Pre-school in the area. It was very crunchy and focused on imaginary play, valued positive discipline and followed a more Montessori-like structure. We liked it and it was great encourager for our shy 2.5 year old, but as she grew we found it didn't provide enough structure for the analytical child she was becoming. Little Peoples seems to breach both worlds in terms of encouraging a child's imagination and allowing them to explore their world without rushing them into a system of structured learning too soon.. and also providing enough educational stimulas to engage their minds. We love how the teachers interact with the kids; especially Ms. Peg and Mr. Matt. My daughter attended for a year and half, and was more than ready to enter Kindergarden. Ms Peg always has great advice and seems to instinctively know how to approach a child based on the specific personality. We like it so much our son now attends, and since he's only 3.5 and a summer child, we will more likely be there for another 2 years. Another Great perk? Having a male pre-school instructor who is great with the kids and also a good role model for our son. I would agree with one of the previous reviewers, and ignore Susana H. She may have had valid concerns but her review is positively ridiculous and unfair since she didn't leave any reasonings for the bad review.

She also has several severe food allergies. Sedique and Crystal are truly incredible and really went above and beyond for my daughter. They feel like family now and have fostered such a wonderful community of parents and environment for children. I am eternally grateful to them and could recommend them more highly!

Such a wonderful daycare! My daughter has attended for the last year and it has been a great…read moreexperience. We started her after a major move and Curious Angels helped her feel secure and settled pretty much immediately. The teachers are truly outstanding and clearly love their work. Our daughter loves going there every day, has formed beautiful friendships with her classmates, strong bonds with her teachers, and is learning so much. They have an outdoor emphasis and the children learn to care for chickens and bunnies, among all the other things they do during their day. The daycare uses an app to communicate with parents - we get pictures throughout the day which helps us talk to her about her activities in the evening. Communication with the teachers is excellent. It's a happy, joyous place where the children can play, learn, trust, and enjoy this special time in their life. I give Curious Angels, the teachers, and the owner my highest recommendation.

I'm So grateful our daughter was able to get in after a few months on the waitlist. I would keep her here till Kindergarten if I could but we had to move for work. They are so loving and caring full of years of experience. Almost everyday she would come home with an art project and had so much room to run around and play. Sheryl made healthy meals everyday for the girls, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, pancakes, you name it. My daughter made best friends there and learned all about the farm animals Sheryl has goats, chickens, horses and even a pony! It was a magical place for her to grow and learn. Thank you so much Serenity Creek.

My daughter is smarter, more independent, and more loving for having spent the last 1.5 years with Sherryl on her gorgeous farm. The only reason why my daughter is leaving Serenity Creek is because we are moving out of state - otherwise, I would have kept here there for as long as possible!! She wakes up every morning and talks non-stop about how excited she is to go to 'school' and runs to the door when we get there. I have to chase her down to say goodbye to me. I can't say enough about what a warm and nurturing environment Serenity Creek is! If I could pack Sherryl and take her with me, I would!!
