My in-person experience was relatively good - good enough that I was posting about it to family and friends with high recommendation. But the day after the move I went to set up my TV and discovered that the screen was severely cracked, having been (it seems) pinched in the top two corners. The crack spread across the entire top half of the screen. The TV works, but is unusable. I had to buy a new one, which cost me almost $200. I submitted the damage complaint twice and was not even contacted. For a company that calls and emails every day for a week trying to GET my business in the first place, that is particularly gross. As it stands now, I can't imagine ever using or recommending College HUNKS again purely because of the lack of response to my complaints, let alone lack of resolution. If you don't have anything fragile, sure, go ahead. But maybe move the fragile things yourself (my TV was the only fragile thing I did not move myself, and I sorely regret it). I will add that it was a 3.5 hour job that involved moving down from a second floor in a house and then up to a third floor in another house, and the TV was the only thing damaged. It was not packed in a box and the movers assured me they could use their TV bag and it would be fine. It was not fine.

I didn't know really what to ask for other than including a plant that would be enduring. I picked it up in a few hours and it was soooooo beautiful---I almost wanted to keep it for myself:-) Anyway it was a big hit with the doctor and felt it was money well spent. Whoever did the arrangement was very talented with a good eye for plant and color selection, placement of the flowers was pleasing to the eye. They really took the care and time to do something really nice and would use them again.

I hesitated a bit, thinking that maybe they would not have enough movers, so he then said he would be sure to have 4 men, but requested $400. That was still very reasonable, much less than other movers I called. He arrived a week later with the truck, 3 other men, many straps to keep the piano stable in the truck. What amazed me was that he then proceeded to wrap my 60-year old piano in plastic, further protecting it from damage. The men were super polite, and they made the transport within an hour, moving into my friend's home flawlessly. I highly recommend this outstanding team! Just one more item: I did prepare a written contract with the agreed-upon quote and delivery address. Kelvin gladly signed it, keeping his copy and returning mine. This gave me peace of mind that I might not have had otherwise when hiring someone I did not know. I had three major considerations: I wanted something very easy to maintain; I wanted native plants and flowers that would attract butterflies; and I wanted it to be enjoyable for all the wild critters who live in our yard. Marc is great - I love his vision, enthusiasm, and wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. He walked the property with me and pointed out what was native and what was invasive (I have very little horticultural knowledge), and how he thought different designs could improve the space in this way or that, depending on how we wanted to use it. He gave a bunch of options and ideas, and listened to what I wanted. It felt very collaborative, which was nice. And he is great at explaining things you don't quite understand. Marc and Matt and Colin, and several more workers whose names I didn't catch, came out to do the job on time on the assigned day, well-prepared. The weather was off-and-on rain, which didn't remotely slow down the crew. They were all working hard all day - you'll see from the photos there was a lot to do. In addition to a full yard cleanup which in itself was a beast of a job, they redesigned/redefined several beds, planted a perfect pollinator garden in the back that I have been wanting there for years, trimmed/pruned trees, shaped hedges, reshaped the backyard, mulched everything, and planted three beautiful young sweet bay magnolias out front. It was a big job and took two days. The crews were great - polite and hardworking, with no complaints even when they were getting soaked. Marc came by each day to meet with me, explain what was being done, and get my input. He also met with and worked with his crew, mapped out where everything was going. He was out in the pouring rain with his crew, unloading trees from the truck and doing whatever was needed. They were an impressive team. I am beyond thrilled with the results of all the hard work they did. And so excited to sit outside this summer enjoying it all. Thank you, Native.
