I left with a smile on my face. I wasn't in for long but Highland Health had just what I needed (raw cacao powder) and then some. I actually left with the powder, some healthy coconut bites, a meridian almond bar, some cinnamon flavoured raw chocolate and wild apple and cinnamon pukka tea, one I'd never come across before. It's probably for the best that I didn't spent too long in the shop; that would have been dangerous.
So whilst it was a fleeting, giddy visit, there's already a place in my heart for Highland Health. There were all kinds of healthy goodies I'd never come across before, and it was all reasonably priced. I was expecting to have to pay quite a bit for the raw cacao powder but that wasn't the case at all. The lovely lady who worked there sent me in the right direction and, when I asked, explained that there was no real difference in the quality of the two brands they offered, other than the fact that the one that was a little more expensive was in a tin rather than a packet. They were both the same quantity so I opted for the packet at £3.99. I appreciated the honesty and the resealable packet was fine by me.
Although it's a small shop, the shelves are packed and brimming with all kinds of things to get any healthy foodie excited. I left happy with my purchases, and looking forward to my next Highland Health fix.
I didn't visit their natural remedy store across the road this time round, but if you're a fan of this shop, then it'd certainly be worth popping across for. read more
