This church is more than a building. The people are family and are called to sharing God's love and salvation to all. The pastors stand on the truth and preach the Scriptures with grace and boldness in ways that allow us to apply God's Word to our lives so we can live out our faith everyday. They invest in families and the next generation with an interactive kid friendly children's church each Sunday and their 24:Seven Youth ministry for jr and sr high kids in their youth facility during the week. High Pointe isn't your Grandma's church. This giant Baptist church (not mega-church size but still very big) has two buildings. The main building obviously holds the services and a sizeable bookstore (among other things) and the other building houses the youth center and has events and concerts there. They also have free donuts and coffee after Sunday services. The church is modern, hip, and has a great range of ages. It's primarily a white church but they definitely are very welcoming and have a number families of different ethnicities. All the superficial things about this church are amazing, the building is beautiful, the parking lot is nice, the grounds are nice, the chair/pews are ultra comfortable (which is very rare), and they really just have their system/brand really polished and streamlined. In terms of the more important things, the church band was really good, they have a great video projection screen that had the words for the songs and the scripture verses for the sermon (that way you really didn't need to flip through a hymnal or Bible if you didn't want to). I hate to say it but the one thing that keeps High Pointe from being a perfect church for me is the pastor. He seemed like a nice guy and he had a decent sermon and speaking style I just thought his energy and vibe didn't match the church or the other church leaders and I didn't agree with everything he was saying. I know the pastor really makes or breaks a church but it's not that simple when the place is as awesome as High Pointe and the pastor isn't that bad. read more

Although the building and grounds are wonderful and the children's ministry is outstanding, the high point of this church is its Pastor. If you are looking for a man of God to help lead you in your walk of faith then this is the church to attend. A humble and meek man, who walks with great strength in God, this Pastor has a tender heart for Gods people. His sermons will be exactly what you need to hear when you are looking for a word from God. I would go to listen to this man preach even if he were speaking in the living room of someones home.
