Because I was called a liar, I recorded her loud fat ass stomping and dropping stuff. And banging on the ceiling, made her get louder. And getting out of this apartment complex is costing me over 3000 dollars because I'm getting out after 6 months. They believed her lies. And she continues to still stomp, inconsiderate person. It seems like a great location and affordable. But it's not! This complex is absolutely disgusting. First off that $1200 they quote you? Be prepared for $1600 with the amount of feed they add on. The apartments "smart heating/cooling"? Doesn't work and your electric bill will be $100 plus! You like bugs? Because this place is INFESTED. Brown recluses? All over. I have pictures of both me and my dog COVERED in bites. I had the exterminator over constantly but still they just multiplied. Place is infested with fruit flies no matter how much you clean your drains. Upon moving in one window was sealed shut, my screen was ripped and falling out of another window, door knobs fell off, they just painted over nails, damages left and right, and oh it wasn't even cleaned. When you pay your first months rent with a money order it'll magically get marked as "fraud" because they steal it and you'll spend the next 2 months fighting to get that back as the office threatens to evict you. Then when it's time to move out, they'll charge you $1000 in damages that don't exist and try to send it to collections. So make sure you photograph your apartment! This place is a complete scam and not worth your time. You'll end up broke with how much they steal from you! Plenty of better actual affordable housing near by! That's bug less and clean! read more

By far the worst apartment I have ever lived in. Management was terrible, people selling drugs at the pool, the units are falling apart, windows have no seals so your electric bill will be through the roof, and they will try to charge you for damage and or missing equipment when you leave even if things aren't missing or damaged (I have pictures). After 2 years, I moved out of Hickory Run. I'll start with the good...Hillary. Hillary is the assistant manager and should probably be the manager. So, before I begin to detail the negative portion of my review, kudos to Hillary... I hope she gets a promotion soon. I really liked her. You will be seriously nickel & dimed to death while living here. $25 per month for trash fees and YOU take your trash to back compactor, which is always broken and emails sent to you to hold your trash in your apt until further notice. I'm serious. Your fees will come with fees, the monthly water costs are way higher than need be, $13 per month for parking per car and no, you get nothing for that except permission to park on the grounds. Cars are parked all over the place with no permit which forces those with permits to park wherever they can. All they do is post on the portal that you must have a parking permit, which is laughable because it's very ineffective and visitors and guests park right near the apts and the rent payers are hiking to their apts. However, if you want assigned parking they will paint "reserved" on the parking spot for you for an additional $30 a month. Speaking of parking, one of my cars had the tire slashed on it while parked in the lot, I'm not the only one...it happened to others frequently. Notified the office by email asking they let everyone know to watch out for vandals...HA! No, they let no one know. I got an "OMG, I'm so sorry" email but they never notified the residents. They did however notify us when someone in one of the back buildings got robbed in the parking lot at gunpoint and let us know when cars were broken in to. So I do thank them for that. Hickory Run sits back off of Main Street in a semi wooded area. I really liked the location as it was very convenient to my work while still keeping me inside Hendersonville which at the time of my move-in was a better area than when I moved out. Don't forget when you move, you must give a two month notice and have your apartment cleaned professionally with a receipt as proof to be turned in to Hickory Run. Figuring nothing would be good enough for them, I opted for their express cleaning which is a $90 charge. I received my final move out bill charging me $500 for damages. LOL yeah, I don't think so. I should also mention there was absolutely no accounting or itemization made available for any of these so-called damages. I called the corporate office for the explanation and left a message. Someone did return my call and told me that the charges were still pending as they had not yet finalized it. Ok... so why the bill giving me three weeks to pay it? She had no answer for me but told me I should receive an itemization soon. Fine...I wait. The next week I get a reminder that I have a $500.35 bill to pay and no payment has yet been made. Still had not received the itemization. I called the corporate office again and got a snotty little girl with an attitude who refused to give her name, she informed me that they had 23 to get me an itemization of charges. When asked why I keep receiving reminders to pay the bill she literally responded with, "have a nice day ma'am" and hung up on me. 2 days later I received the itemization via email and it went from $500 to $400. Now, remember the paint statement in the beginning? They literally charged me $249 to paint the apartment. LOL i'm dead serious. Yes, the front bedroom probably smelled of smoke because my son smoked in there but considering they never painted it before I moved in which I'm pretty sure is a requirement, I find it absolutely ludicrous that they would charge me to paint. They also charged me $49 for carpet replacement. There was nothing wrong with the carpet. The front bedroom was a little dirty But I think it was normal wear & tear...but I guess at least they considered the depreciation of the carpet as it was not new when I moved in. They charged me $25 for a bag of trash. There was no trash left in the apartment. There was a brand new vacuum cleaner that I left in the apartment in case someone wanted it. I'm assuming they're calling that trash. They charged me $40 for a missing lightbulb, the drip pans on the stove they said were dirty and they said the bathroom drain plug was damaged. Ok...whatever. The rest was final water, pest control, trash, etc. For the record, I have paid the $400.35 that they billed me for and I owe them zero dollars. I chose not to argue with them because they forgot to charge me the cleaning fee of $90 and they did not charge me for the actual damage that was on the front bedroom wall. So I feel like I win! Based on this review, I'm sure you get that I do not recommend this complex. The one star is because I like Hilary. Update: After paying the $400, they sent another bill yesterday to pay the $400. This place is so old and run down. Tiles from my shower have now come out of place due to water being trapped in the walls for so long. My neighbor had a mold issue. When first moving her, the place was filthy and someone had to come out to re-clean. I have always given my dog the same medicine and it has NEVER failed me up until moving here. It's only been 3 months and I've bug bombed numerous times and am constantly bathing my poor dog with flea shampoo which is harsh on her skin. I honestly don't understand all of the one star ratings. I have lived here since March. I love my remodeled apartment, it's huge! Their dog park is top notch, and my pups love it. The grounds are always kept up and nice. Whenever I've needed maintenance, they have always been quick to come and fix the problem. Yes, I hear my neighbors upstairs, but I realize that I'm in an apartment, and that's going to happen. Their office staff has always been sweet and caring to fix anything needed. The only thing Hickory Run has had an issue with is crime, which over the past few months, has been pretty much city wide. Any issues with car break ins or vandalism have promptly been reported to residents. I would wholeheartedly recommend these apartments to anyone in search of a new place to live. :) read more

I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with the maintenance here at hickory run. When I first moved in, there were several things wrong with my apartment, unfortunately. But when I had addressed my concerns and put in the maintenance request in, they were there the day of fixing everything. I've only had a few times where something has broken since then and again, they are quick to fix them. They are nice, easy to talk to, and they always provide empathy and assurance when coming to my apartment. The experience that I have had living here has been like no other when renting apartments. All of the staff are nice, caring, and make sure that their residents are well taken care of. I LOVE living here. It's easy to pay rent, submit requests, and I love that I receive emails of the "daily digest" for this complex to know what's going on here. In the past 30 years of my life, I have had 29 different addresses. So needless to say, I have lived in a LOT of apartment complexes. This is hands done, bar none, the WORST place I have ever lived. Seriously. The office staff are "sickly sweet" nice to your face when you go in and talk to them to resolve an issue, boldly lie to your face and then never resolve your issue. In addition to paying rent, we had to pay about $200 per month for all of their "add on" requirements. So far it's been too interesting, I am thankful to have a place to call home now but it is also my money to make it so. There is a cleaning list they give you to show you they cleaned everything completely. When I arrived it looked as though nothing was cleaned , the toilets looked hideous, the sinks were extremely stained with a few hairs in them, and there was dust in every spot there could be. By the first few days I realized the washer doesn't even work right to the point I had to buy my own hoes to replace cause they had a leak and it still does not work. I feel as though I have to be my own handyman cause they only have one person on duty so it takes multiple weeks to get any tiny thing fixed and on top of that they don't notify you when they come so it feels like you have to stash everything valuable you have cause you don't even know who the person is. This is my first apartment I've lived in and I'm very disappointed overall. I have had the worst experience with these people!!!!! They are rude they are obnoxious they steal your money and then do not give you back all of what they owe you!!i applied to live here 4 months ago! I did not get approved so my dad went on with me as a cosigner he gave them 375 $300 for the deposit and 75 for the application fee. They kept giving the run around needing more and more things then asked for his bank account information which is where he drew the line everything was just too fishy so they were supposed to issue a refund of $300 they waited and waited they had not sent any refund so I called and called and called nobody would help me. They said they sent it and they didn't I had to call the main supervisor she called back said she would reissue and other check she didn't I called again and threatened them with lawyers so they finally overnighted me a check which they said they couldn't do before. LIES! Anyways I get the check its only for )$225 not $300 they said my dad didn't pay the $75 for application fee but that's bullshit because they wouldn't have even ran his credit before getting that $75!! Now they issued the check as mine and my dads name so I can't cash it! So thank you very much to the sweethearts at hickory run apartments for screwing me out of $75 and making it to where I can't cash the refund check 4 months later that only should have taken 2 weeks to get back! read more

DO NOT DO IT. READ THE REVIEWS. We made the mistake of choosing Hickory Run besides a very friendly staff everything else is a dump. We had mold in our unit in BOTH bathrooms. They literally painted over existing mold. We had terrible air circulations as a result with the heat on 76 my sons room was always around 60 degrees, needless to say he got sick pretty frequently. Aluminum windows always create mildew in the house. My wife and son received multiple spider bites while living there. Trash was constantly piled up in the back of the complex the smell around the buildings was awful if you had to live on the north end. Also, they are running a cable monopoly with Comcast. When you move in you get a Comcast packet and a direct number of who to call. You cannot have direct tv or dish in most of the units as the wiring would have to be ran thru the walls which they do not allow. When eventually broke our lease is when it really got nasty, they threatened to sue me saying I owed 2300+ dollars and the amount is building daily. After calling my attorney I found out they could not do that.I called their corporate office which they agreed with me about my required balance. After setting up a payment plan over 6 months I get another notice after month 3 of the payment stating I owe another 884 dollars. This is after my final notice statement. I am currently in discussion with their corporate office. Like I said the staff is great but do not try to deal with Nancey Bryant the property manager you will not get anything resolved. read more
