We have been coming to Hot Wheels for years and previously had great experiences. We've held…read morebirthday parties here and, despite living much closer to Sparkles, have chosen to drive farther to Hot Wheels. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was very different. Our son feels more comfortable skating with a Skate Mate and has always been allowed to use one throughout the rink on previous visits. This time, after completing about one lap, an employee told him he could only use it in the small middle section. When we questioned this, we were told this had always been the rule and had always been enforced, which does not match our previous experiences. We could not find this restriction disclosed on their website. In fact, if you look through the photos posted with their Google reviews, the photos we saw show children using Skate Mates on the full rink, exactly as our son had been allowed to do on previous visits. The employees were rude and unhelpful when we tried to address the situation. They were also very reluctant to provide the owner's name, initially providing only his first name, and would not provide any contact information other than directing us to the website. We emailed the owner via the website to request a refund but received no response. For parents considering a birthday party here, keep in mind that based on what we were told, any birthday child or guests who use a Skate Mate will only be able to use the small middle section rather than the full rink. Sparkles in Kennesaw allows children using skate helpers to use the main rink. I wish we had known about this restriction before paying, as we would have gone elsewhere.

Freeflight is a live dance band that has performed at various events in metro Atlanta and the Southeast for over 20 years. Freeflight is led by Jennifer Ferren, owner and lead vocalist. She also does the MCing (emceeing). At our party, Freeflight was a six-piece band (two vocals, guitar, sax/flute, keyboard, and drums) that played mostly upbeat hits from the 70s to the 2000s. Examples of songs included "Shout" (Isley Brothers, 1959), "Sweet Caroline" (Neil Diamond, 1969), "Brick House" (Commodores, 1977), "Don't Stop Believin'" (Journey, 1981), and "Hey Ya!" (Outkast, 2003). The band did a marvelous job and sounded great. Every song they performed was a virtually flawless cover. I had a blast dancing to the music with my date and fellow coworkers. During some of the more energetic songs (e.g. "Shout"), the male vocalist danced into the crowd and pointed his mic at us to sing along. It was a lot of fun. If you're looking for an awesome band to perform live music at your next event, I recommend Freeflight. You'll have a good time.

The programs and the director are great. However, the toxic mom atmosphere is awful. We joined…read moretheir Nutcracker program and I regretted it so much. Several of the moms in charge of the backstage area were very rude and unprofessional. I heard some of them speaking badly about some of the children in program and their parents. There was one woman who was the "queen bee" or thought she was in the back..she was down right mean. There was one show day where one of the moms brought pizza out between shows, but only offered and shared it with their favorites. My daughter wanted some, but she wasn't offered any. Lastly, I saw another mom's car get hit in the parking lot by the husband of one the "mean moms" he didn't leave a note. She noticed a large scratch later and asked the school about it. I told her what I saw, but I think she just moved on...anyways, the fact that he did that just shows the lack of respect or integrity here. We will never return again. There are plenty of other great dance companies with nicer families involved.

We were both blown away by the level of training, technique, and artistry that the MBT dancers have. Maniya Barredo is one of a kind. She brings to her students a life of experience as a Prima Ballerina who rose to the top through hard work and dedication to her craft. She has an eye to see beyond what many others do not see and the experience to know what her dancers are going through on a day to day basis. Not only does she provide the necessary training to help her dancers go on to professional careers, she mentors them along the way and prepares them for whatever they decide to do, whether that be professional dancing, college or another road all together. I don't know of any other training and mentoring at this level in the state of GA. We feel blessed to have found Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and look forward to what the future holds.
