Fried rice with teriyaki shrimp and mixed vegetables

My husband and I were in town for a quick visit. I googled places to eat near our hotel. Looks can be deceiving. Hibachi Hut was a wonderful surprise. It's not a fancy place but full of love. Miss Chen is so sweet. My food and tea was delicious. I would totally recommend this place.

I visited this restaurant in the late afternoon, for a quick dinner. I called in my order through the phone and went in the restaurant to pick up. There are several tables so this place would be great for dining for a small or large groups. I observed one lady working the cashier and kitchen, and one man skillfully in the kitchen cooking up several dishes. The lady at the cashier was very kind, and offered me a free sweet iced tea which was delicious. These people seem like very hard workers, I have much respect for them running the restaurant. My food was out in about 10 minutes, the filet mignon was tasty, the scallops were good as well, great portion for the price. There is plenty of rice and veggies, I am sure it is enough to split among a couple days, or enough for a small family. The curry sauce was fantastic, reminded me of Japanese S&B golden curry, and the regular sauce was great as well. The soup was light and comforting, complemented the dish well. I love supporting local businesses and i appreciate the kindness of the workers here, and the quality and affordability of the food. I will be visiting again.

What a pleasure it was to visit this Japanese Take Out Restaurant, Hibachi Hut. I found out about this place through Yelp while searching for late night food options. They stay open until 9:30pm! They also had great ratings so I decided to call them up and place an order. While on the phone, my eating partner had a couple questions. He asked the associate how many shrimps came with the double shrimp hibachi. She said about 17 shrimps come with the double shrimp hibachi meal, and about 8 come with the regular (single) shrimp hibachi meal. He ordered the double shrimp and I ordered Hibachi Filet Mignon. She said it could be ready in 5-10 minutes so I told her that's when I'd be there! We drove around the corner to this little Hibachi Hut Restaurant that is placed in a shopping center off of Rivers near Remount. We started walking up and I commented that the place looked really nice, similar to one I've seen in Mt. Pleasant. We walk inside and see tons of neat knick knacks. There were little Buddhas on sale, including keychain Buddhas for $.75 which I thought was pretty cool. There were also Chinese Horoscope animal figurines. My eating partner asked what his animal sign was. I already know, I'm a horse. She was very nice and looked up on a calendar to see his Chinese Astrological animal sign. She whispered to me while he was around the corner that his sign was a pig!! I grabbed a pig figurine and made sure to make a joke about that one! Ha The lady working was very sweet, and also pretty funny. She asked me near the end of our visit if this was our first time there. I said yes. She asked where I found out about this restaurant. I told her Yelp! She said a lot of people come in because they saw it on Yelp and complain that the menu prices are different than what is posted. She handed me a menu. I told her that she should claim her business, since I noticed previously that it was unclaimed. Hopefully she will so she can post the official menu and update it as necessary. I took pictures of the menu, however, for all of you Yelp friends. I got back to the house and started eating. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. It wasn't as good as one of those sit down Hibachi restaurants, which is to be expected considering how much cheaper it was. It had sauce on it that reminded me of Salisbury steak. It was pretty good. It came with fried rice and vegetables. The fried rice was on point. I covered it with white sauce, of course, but I do that anyway no matter where I go. The vegetable stood out to me as being way better than most places. Not only did it have zucchini, it also contained broccoli and carrots! Yum yum in my tum! I really enjoyed my experience inside of the restaurant, even though I was picking up a carry out order. The woman working, who might have been the owner, was so nice to us and made us feel very welcomed. The items they had for sale are super cool and if I had a lot of money, I'd probably buy all of it. The food was also delicious and filling. We definitely got our money's worth. I will come back here for sure! I recommend you try it out for yourselves!

Wonderful food! I have driven past this place so many times and didn't know they were there! They waited on us immediately and it didn't take long to get our food. They have an option for no rice too. I got the teriyaki chicken with veggies . It was delicious!

The Hibachi Hut on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston is an excellent option for Japanese food when you are on this side of town whether you are doing take out or eating in. The food is delicious and well prepared and you get a good value for all that you get with your order. The staff here is very friendly and works hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. I have been happy with all of the visits I have made here and they have been consistent in their quality over time.

I'm addicted to their Fried Chicken wings and shrimp fried rice. The location is very convenient to the 1-26 interstate -- friendly and quality service at a very reasonable price.

The atmosphere was welcoming; I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and the cashier was very friendly. The menu had a variety of options, but I got the large chicken and rice bowl to go. When I received the bowl, it was hot, and it was packed to the top with lots of chicken. One thing I really appreciated was the self-serve pumps for extra teriyaki and white sauce, so I could add as much as I wanted. I can get a little heavy on the sauce sometimes, so having control over that was a nice touch. When I got to the car, I had to take a bite! The food was so good! The hibachi chicken was super tender and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided, making it a great value for a satisfying meal. Overall, this is the perfect spot for when I'm craving restaurant-quality hibachi without the wait or restaurant prices. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

I ordered filet mignon and shrimp. The woman taking my order asked me how I like my filet cooked. I asked for medium. It turned out well. It seemed to be cooked to the correct temperature. It tasted good. The shrimp were plentiful. There were a few broccoli in the shrimp and some mushrooms in the filet mignon. There was also the traditional zucchini and onions as a vegetable side dish. And don't forget the best part... the big ole scoop of fried rice. I love that stuff. This place has free flowing white sauce. By the drink machine, they have white sauce dispensers and little plastic ramekins to put it in, with lids. They also had spicy white sauce and teriyaki sauce up there. A lot of places charge per each white sauce they give you. I like that this place does not do that. My boyfriend mentioned that he comes here during lunch a lot and orders from the Express Menu. Apparently these menu items can be prepared rather quickly. Great for a quick lunch break meal. Overall, I'm happy with my experience. The food was good. We waited an average amount of time, about 10 minutes for our food. The restaurant seemed clean and well kept. The people were kind. It's a cool spot. Come try this place out!
